What a great find. I knew by so many expert Yelpers reviews I was going to be happy. I like sweet and my wife likes savory and they have both. Everything is tasty and we've bee my going weekly. Street parking is not to bad. Service is pleasant and the selection is vast for such a small window front. Enjoy!

Bump the stars because their croissants are good. I tried pretzel and apple croissants, both are good, flaky. Although I was little disappointed the apple strudels croissant don't have apple slice inside. Avoid canele and latte. Their pistachio latte super sweet, no wonder others would order it with little sweetness. I won't try their latte again. Good service, although waited awhile to place my order.

Ocean Side Bakery is a fairly new bakery located in Chinatown. There is no actual store front to go into, rather they have their baked goods displayed in the window. When open, their door will be propped open with a cashier by the door. I've visited on a handful of occasions, and have tried several baked goods:- almond croissant and regular croissant- both are very good! I really like the croissants from Ocean Side. Can't go wrong!- blueberry scone- moist, not dry at all however a little sweeter than I would prefer.- lilikoi canele- I got this cold (room temp), and heated it up in my toaster oven at home. It was just okay but I have a feeling if fresh and hot out of their ovens, it would be amazing. They also offer various flavors of their canele. - mushrooms, spinach, cheese on toast (I can't remember the exact name) - this was amazing! I actually saved this for breakfast the next morning (reheated in air fryer) and it was still amazing. It was funny because they didn't think it would keep well and suggested the quiche instead but this looked so good I couldn't be dissuaded. And I'm glad because it was the best thing I tried from them so far.- Parisian pumpkin flan- they sell slices of this but I preordered a full pie for Thanksgiving. This thing was dense! However taste wise, it didn't taste much different from a normal pumpkin pie (although I love the crust), and I probably wouldn't get this again. They also have breakfast and lunch items on the menu on their door. I have not had the opportunity to try these yet but look forward to doing so!

Cutest lil neighborhood bakery. It's mostly grab and go but at my most recent visit it looks like they're constructing a steet side wooden patio for tables/chairs which will be a nice addition! It's a small bakery on a quiet side street in Chinatown so perfect for sitting out and enjoying your baked goods and coffee. I like the wide selection for breakfast, including both savory and sweet options, and even some made to order hot items like croque mousier and other egg based sandwiches. It's mostly French influenced, offering even canele, but they also have classic American favorites like cheesecakes and brownies. Everything I've tried has been decent, my favorite so far has been the Swiss horn though. Super flaky crispy layers with a sweet custard cream inside. Reminds me of a Boston lobster tail! Their breakfast canape is actually a very large open faced toast which was surprisingly easy to eat on the go. The mushroom/gruyere/egg was 8.50 and quite filling. Will definitely return!!

Was super excited about this bakery, but coming before they close (2pm) was not the move. Pastries that were left, were likely sitting there all morning, but I still appreciate the cute display! + Pistachio Chocolate Canele ($3.75): nicely served in a newspaper patterned wrapping canele was a bit soggy, but good sweetness and pretty rich chocolate (7/10)

Saw this bakery on YouTube's Felix and Amanda so we came to check it out. It's located on Smith St- across from the park. Street parking. There's 3 tables outside where you can enjoy your treats. The croissants had just come out so we had to get one- ooohhhh so flaky and light! We also sampled the blueberry custard tart. The custard was not overly sweet and was topped with blueberries, all on a shortbread cookie- thumbs up! There were also paõ de queso (Brazilian cheese bread- little balls of cheesy bread stuffed with cheese). They were nice and soft and the cheese flavor popped. Didn't get to try to canelès or the croissant cubes which looked inviting. Next time! Also offered are various coffee drinks - we had the pumpkin caramel latte (got it cold). Very refreshing ! Definitely coming back to try the other baked goods!

I finally got a chance to try this place and I am a fan! It's not in the greatest of areas, but honestly I think that's what keeps this place not as crazy busy as it would be if it were in a nicer neighborhood. The goodies are displayed in the window, which gives you a chance to see what they have (great for those who like to see before they buy). The creme brûlée cinnamon roll and Basque brownie caught my eye, as did the brown butter chocolate cookies (I was planning to buy just one but ended up buying a prepackaged bag of them!). There are a few small tables for eating but again, this is chinatown, and therefore it's not really a nice place for sidewalk dining. But I'd still recommend this place for take-out!

Went here the other day and tried few items. Loved their buttery croissant! Also ordered their Swiss chocolate cake which was decadent but not too sweet. Also got a blueberry custard tartlet which was delish!

Dessert in Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii...After lunch, we all agreed to visit a Hot New Business: Ocean Side Bakery. Paul C. had been here before, and he was eager to return. Located on the left side of Smith Street, I believe that this space used to be occupied by Otto Cheesecake. Since it was a State Holiday (Kamehameha Day), metered street parking and Loading Zone parking were free! This is mainly a takeout place - although there were two red metal tables with 2 chairs at each table on the sidewalk. I wouldn't recommend sitting here because it's not the best part of town (watch for vagrants), and leaves were flying around... plus, bird droppings were on the ground... LOL!Gabriel P. got a box of goodies (like guava bars) to take home. I just got a butter croissant to eat right away. It was flakey and crisp on the outside, and soft and airy on the inside. Yummy!I would return earlier in the day for the fruit tarts that Paul raved about. Service was patient and friendly! Thank you, Gabriel, for the treat!

Located near the corner of N Beretania and Smith St, across from the park. Peruse the pastry window and order at the door. The owner is pleasant and available for any questions and helping out staff. The pastries are divine, the lunch sandwiches delish and the chocolate chip cookies and the coconut brownies are a must!
