If you're ever on Waikiki and need a break from the hotel and chain restaurants or Poke Bowls and Musubi, have we got a spot for you. OMG! No, that's the name OMG - Oahu Mexican Grill. They have two locations, we tried the one on the corner of Kalamaua and Ohua. There's signage, but it's upstairs and easy to miss if you aren't looking for it.This is the Hawaiian version of Chipotle, but with way more options. Tacos, burritos, and enchiladas, or pineapple-stuffed carnitas, it's all the Mexican food staples in a fast casual, order from the counter, customize how you want it, restaurant. They make it to order, using fresh ingredients, and the food tastes like it. They won't scrimp either. One order might make a couple of meals for a lot of folks. We have a high bar for Mexican food, and this place exceeds it every time we go.Tender meats, rice, beans, all seasoned perfectly, and flavorful salsa. Mexican food doesn't need to be over complicated to be good. OMG realized this and delivers a great product.Given this location, it's very touristy, but don't let that cause you to pass it by. The staff have always been friendly and willing to accommodate. Yes, you will pay a location premium, but it's definitely worth it.Just so you know and one day your children will know... when u get a burrito to go for ur hike a diamond head ... that burrito will be the highest a burrito has ever been and that's the night the lights went out in Georgia .... I mean Honolulu , lmfao

Mexican food with an ocean view! This place is right across from the beach, on the second floor. So it's super convenient and has a wide variety of what meats and options. I got a burrito with half chicken and steak. Chicken was pretty. Appreciated that they had the steak beef, and it had good flavor, but the dryness of the meat was an overall negative for me. Was also a bit disappointed that burrito was lukewarm at best, and not well made so it fell apart after a couple bites. Staff were friendly and ordering was quick and super customizable. Overall it's a decent spot if you are craving Mexican food, but make sure you get up a fork.

Ok, so I get it that everything is imported, but the experience here was really bad. We didn't get what we asked for and were charged way too much, I asked for a chicken quesadilla with very little cheese, it came with too much cheese and barely and chicken. Horrible experience. I can't recommend it.

Omg is right. I appreciate that it was walk up order style. Works great for a quick, hardy meal when you don't want to sit for too long or have a coffee shop sandwich. Shared the breakfast tacos and we're very glad we shared. It was a big portion and came out hot!

Oahu Mexican Grill (OMG) is a chipotle-esque restaurant located near downtown Waikiki. There's some indoor seating and the ambiance can be described as casual. The staff was a bit mean to my family and I when we were ordering and didn't have a good system for to-go orders. They packaged our food poorly and had attitudes when we asked for sauces on the side. The food wasn't that flavorful but was reasonably priced for the quantity. It's close to the hotels and is one of the few Mexican food options in the area. I wouldn't come back to dine-in or place a to-go order here.

The food was excellent! I found it to be a cute little hidden gem. Because after reading the so called mixed reviews of recent visitors. Annnnnnd somehow or another, I decided to check it out ....Anyway!!!! My my My....it didn't disappoint! I ordered the super nachos with steak and chicken. Upside: seasoned and cooked to perfection. Con: several chewy pieces that weren't digestible. Margarita was strong and delicious!!!!Ohhhhhh, I forgot to mention this place gives a more authentic Chipotle vibe. In which the food is on a hot table and a helpful young man will create your dishes right in front of you. Ask for more or a little as you wish of anything.

Food was ok, rice had good flavor. The music wasn't too loud, restaurant itself is upstairs. There is a elevator for those that need it. The cashier is super rude, i definitely would not come back.

My husband wanted to stop by this place because he was craving some Mexican food as we come from California ! This place is on the 2nd floor of a building, so that was kind of cool to have a slight view to see from. This place really reminded me of Chipotle back home, the way the ordering layout works is kind of similar. I remember the food being okay - I ordered some fish tacos. The service was also friendly and helpful. The wait also was not very long to get our food - they bring the food out to you. I thought that this place was alright ! However I wish there were more fish options as we were in Hawai'i, but I understand people might be craving more Mexican / Texmex cuisine away from home !

If you're used to having Mexican food, like I am living in South Texas. Go here. I recommend. It models Chipotle making burritos and bowls. This place is Texan approved.Cuisine: Good Taste, massive Portions, no Presentation - it's in a foil wrap or hard paper bowl, and it Doesn't matter. Quality ingredients, Yes. Check, especially the steak, juicy, tender, done. I also suggest spiced food lovers ask for the spicy salsa. I did and loved it. Do get the queso. Fries are perfectly golden, crunchy and soft. Service: Super Friendly. We were greeted after reaching the top of the stairs and we talked about where we're visiting from. We had a quesadilla brought out that arrived Timely after we ordered. They were Attentive. menu variety. Could have corn offered as an option. Ambiance: it's upstairs on the 2nd level overlooking Waikiki beach. It's "Mexican beach" Clean. Orderly. Maybe a sandy floor and a wobbly table but don't Not go here because of it. Decor is Jarrito glass soda bottles repurposed as pepper and salt shakers atop worn wood tables and abused metal chairs. Lighting is whatever it is outside with the shudders open. Value: Pricing is average but you get what you pay for. No regrets.

We were very excited to stop by here... Food was okay but staff here is unfriendly, very poor attitude. I saw another review about the staff being mean too. Not a good experience.
