AMAZING. We decided to plan our son's 2nd birthday party while visiting family in Hawaii. I found this bakery on Yelp after looking for a custom cake. Contacting Oahu Cakes was simple and quick. After I placed an inquiry on their website, I received a call that same day about pricing and what I wanted on the cake. What caught my attention were their Disney cakes, especially the "Mickey and Minnie in paradise." The staff were so nice and easy to talk to on the phone. She did advise me that they make a certain number of cakes a day so I knew I had to make sure we reserved a spot for my son's cake that day. On the day of pick up, we received a text to pick up the cake before closing. The cake was beautiful and everything I imagined for my son's birthday. The second we brought the cake out, he smiled and yelled "Mickey!!" It was the cutest thing. Seeing him smile showed us that he absolutely loved the cake. The details on the cake were perfect!!! I also have to say the cake was delicious and moist! Our family were so impressed and even asked us where we ordered the cake from. I highly recommend checking this bakery out! We will be sure to come back again whenever we need a custom cake.

I go on my daily neighborhood walk, and always walk past this bakery. Too early in the morning to stop by since they're closed, but today we went on a walk later in the afternoon and they were open.OMG, this is just the cutest little bakery, with the most delicious cupcakes! We bought a variety pack that were made yesterday, and therefore it was discounted. Six cupcakes for $10. Great deal! We were not disappointed! So delicious!!! The strawberry cupcakes were yummy, and the peanut butter chocolate cupcake was to die for. Moist, with pieces of chocolate chips and a peanut butter frosting. They also have the cutest cakes! Take a look at the photos.Also the glass containers on the counter with old fashioned lollipops were so cute. If you're in Kapolei or live in Mehana, you definitely need to stop by. They're located on Kakala Street, right across from the pool/recreation center. Go check them out. Definitely a semi hidden gem with very nice and friendly people working there.Always love supporting small businesses. Don't forget...always support LOCAL!!

So, after the baker I usually used informed me that she was booked, I started to frantically search my trusty Yelp app for bakers late Monday evening (28 November 2022). Luckily, I came across Oahu Cakes!! I was skeptical of the short notice, getting what I wanted, the price, and the taste. Well, Yelp, I am happy to inform you that I was not disappointed with any of my desires. Submitting a quote was easy and straightforward. The online submission form made the step by step process easy. I selected the flavor I wanted, the size, the theme, the pick up date (this is based on a pop up availability calender on te site), and any additional notes to get an accurate quote. And I was able to submit a picture of something similar to what I wanted. I had to submit my request for a quote on Oahu Cakes website (I couldn't find a direct contact via Yelp). But once I submitted it, I received a copy of my request to my email. Since it was late Monday evening, I impatiently checked my email every few minutes the following day (Tuesday). I finally got a text message late Tuesday morning from someone who identified themselves as Ashli from the bakery. (Honestly, I was a bit skeptical because I automatically thought scam... since it's the holiday season, increased vigilance is necessary). Anyway,  Ashli's text had a copy of my quote and asked that I confirm accuracy. If everything was accurate, she asked that I use the provided link to make a deposit to solidify my order (another reason I thought scam...hey, you can't be too cautious!!). The link looked legitimate, so I proceeded and made my payment. Thursday (1 December 2022 at 1231pm), I had not received any updates, so I sent a text to the same number confirming my pick-up time. Yelp,  there was no response to my text all day, so again, I think, SCAM. Lmao. Yes - I was catastrophizing!! I went on the website, checked the business number, and of course, it did not match the one I received the text from. However, the guy who answered was able to confirm that the cake was baked. They just needed to put the finishing touches, but I was good to pick up at my requested time. Whew! Friday morning, I received a picture message of the cake from Ashli. It was beautiful!! I transported the cake to my event and that was that. Not only did it look amazing, but it also tasted great. It was chocolate with unexpected but pleasantly surprising chunks of chocolate. Yummy. I was also surprised that the cake was bigger than I expected and had 3 layers!! I wished I had taken a picture showing the inside while it was cut, but I was too busy enjoying it. Although I was skeptical, I was blown away and would highly recommend Oahu Cakes for your specialty cakes.

10 out of 10....My daughter needed a last minute cake for her 21st birthday party. I had my cousin do a faux cake but forgot to order a real one for her to eat and blow her candles on. Long story short my daughter got a hold of the owner online and placed an order and was able to get a cake ordered and picked up a day before the party. It was beautiful my daughter loved everything about it but we were so busy with preparations we didn't get a good picture of it. And I DIDNT EAT ANY because I forgot and I was so tired lol. But my family and friends kept talking about how delicious it was. So here i am writing a review and hoping the owner has a good picture and if she ever has leftovers i will gladly pick it up. I will definitely go back and try the other goodies or just order another cake thank you to the owners who made this possible. Aloha,Tui

I ordered a large (25-30 servings) 10" round cake from Ashli and so happy I did! This was for my husband's retirement party. I googled custom cake bakers in the area and Oahu Cakes was one of them. I went through all her photos on IG to get some ideas and shared them with Ashli. She did a phenomenal job and it was a hit at the party! It was a dense cake but needed to be in order to hold the weight of the fondant. However, it was moist and super flavorful. The cake was much larger than I had expected. Thanks so much Ashli!

I just want to say that I was SO happy with my cake! I was so last minute with requesting this and saw there was availability on the website and put in my request, received a text confirmation to smooth out the details, and BAM, that was it! It was so easy to order and the cake was delicious. Pickup was a breeze as well. I'll definitely be back. Thank you again!

What a fantastic cake and experience! Although it may seem challenging to order a cake online, it was a seamless process. Lyn created a stunning poker cake for my dad for his 90th birthday. People were in awe! It looked and tasted delicious! Should I ever need a specialty cake in the future, I would hands-down use them again. You will not be disappointed!

Their prices are outrageous! Also, there is no longer a consultation process, you fill out a form and they send you a bill. We used to get their cupcakes from the store front, they were delicious and my birthday request every year. No more

The owner, Lyn, went out of her way to make this cake and delivery a success for me and the 45 year old birthday"boy" lol. She emailed me and suggested ways of delivery and what she thought was the best!!! And she was right!! Lyn is absolutely amazing and a very caring, busy Mom!!! And if you know one thing, if you want something done, ask a Mom, she'll get it done lol!!!! And Lyn is that Mom!!! I can't thank you enough Lyn!!! He absolutely loved the Shrek cake and thought the taste was amazing!!! You can really tell that Oahu Bakes and Brews is that warm home made feel and taste like Mom does when Mom is too far away to be able to do it herself!!! Thank you, Lyn for stepping in when I couldn't be there!!! You and Oahu Bakes and Brews rocks!!!!!
