Paid a hefty price but worth it to me!
Yes! I've been hunting for green mango and finally found some here.

The Market...I remember going with mom as this being the place to go for meats and everything we craved for as it's filled with all sorts of vendors packed with shoppers most knowing exactly what they wanted cramming in getting their shopping done. The vibe here is still the same though many vendors has evolved over the years and yes you can still purchase some fresh produce and veggies along with meats from Sing Hing Market there is also Morning Catch where it seems like the place for poke bowl that I have yet to try.I just love a place that makes it nice to shop and get things done in one area as the aisle are big enough to move around when it gets crowded and shop at ease which is fun to explore and see what you're able to find.Thank you!

That's right, yes I take a photo of my mango's, and I stare at it every once in a while, that is how much I love mangos! But they are difficult to find, so I come here to Oahu Market during mango season.Prices range from 5.99 - 4.99 a pound. Mango's are perfectly ripe and super delicious.Of course street parking is a challenge, best to start early in the morning, and the crowd, lot's of people! bring walking shoes.

Happy Joyful & Blessed Thanksgiving Wishes to all of you and your families!I really miss not being with our extended family on this Holiday but I have many priceless memories to reflect back on and am blessed to be here in Hawaii, with my Lady Sabrina Gerber and our gorgeous girls!Sabrina prepared a wonderful meal for us on Wednesday and I am bringing some of her awesome stuffing along with Costco mashed potatoes, gravy and some local meats from China Town, for my Maui coworkers potluck feast today at work. It's O'dark thirty as I head into the heart of Honolulu's China Town to pickup the roasted duck and pork for da crew!I arrive at "Oahu Market" and meet the local meat master bbq extraordinar "Tony" was busy behind the counter.Wow! I find out that Tony has worked throughout the night, preparing a vast array of succulent slow roasted local delights of pork, duck, chicken & turkey. The results of his labor are proudly displayed: glistening and dripping from the heated clear view display case on North King Street.I order up and watch Tony skillfully chop up each portion of Duck and Roast Pork.In between chops, Tony gives me a few samples of his magnificent food. The pork was so tender and juicy, with a purposeful layer of fat left on for that extra flavor. Next he handed me a choice piece of the delicious duck, hot, juicy and slow roasted to perfection!I thanked him for working all night on this Thanksgiving Holiday."I've been here for over 40 years and thank you for supporting us during the epidemic!" As we both shared a smile together.Tony made up individual containers for me and added a small dipping sauce inside, before applying rubber bands around the styrofoam containers.I double wrapped them before placing them in plastic bags, so I could hand carry them through TSA.Aloha! I shouted as I turned to leave, more local customers began to arrive and purchase their Thanksgiving meats.Crossing the street, I see a homeless man asleep on the sidewalk, beside him he has a shopping cart with all his possessions...Another sign of these difficult times. I see him awake as I walk by, I turn and instinctively give him a a bill from my pocket, The amount does not matter, It's Thanksgiving. Hopefully he will enjoy some of the delicious meats from Oahu Market too.I depart for the airport and am once again feeling Thanksgiving thoughts of how blessed we are to live the aloha here in Hawaii!I make my way through TSA with my box of delicious meats. FIVE EPIC STARS FOR FLAVOR YOU WILL SAVOR! Support local! Make time to spread some sporadic Aloha and have a blessed Thanksgiving Holiday!

Love this place! My family and I come here every time we're in Chinatown, and I would've written a review long ago but I didn't even know this little complex had a name HAHAHA We always get lychee, okinawan sweet potato, and mangoes at the stalls in front, and then make our way inside to get some chicken liver and hearts. There's also a new poke shop called Morning Catch that has super fresh poke!

Best place ever to get fresh island fish, meats, and veggies! Once you can get past the smell of the place (because of the fish and meats are cut and cleaned there), you are golden! Love it how there are Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino, Thai, Japanese, Korean vendors at this place. You can find anything here.My top two favorite places:#1 is Troy's Fish Market. Located in the back of the main area. This place has the best and freshest fish of all the stalls. Great variety and reasonable prices.#2 is Chun's Meat Market. You can get roast pork roast duck, crispy pork, intestines, fresh island pork and beef (with ALL parts). Open early (5:30?) and great selection of items!

I know this is the spot for Oahu Market, but I'm actually talking about Kekaulike Market right across the street. My spot for all my produce shopping!! Inside Kekaulike there are 7 or 8 produce little produce marts. You really can't beat the prices! Dollar bunches of asparagus, peppers for $1.20/lb, so many deals!.....Just make sure to wash it all good before using!

Actually across the street from O'ahu Market is Kekaulike Mall. The greatest bargain area known to home cooks since da barefoot days. EVERYTHING is farm grown. That means dirt on the cucumbers and sometimes worm holes in the kabochas so scan carefully. Prices are literally half of anywhere else in Honolulu. Crowds, noise, grumbling buses, aromas, all part of the Chinatown experience! Take a cart with wheels or you're not with the elder, "in" crowd."Get tea flavored pumpkin seeds, plastic ware, noodles, spices, jasmine rice, red beans, fu juk, slippas, brooms, and the best danged anise flavored sunflower seeds you will ever hope to eat. They are as fat and long as my, "Miss Chinatown" fingernail. And they come vacuum foil sealed.Yes, OK, we all saw the Chinatown rat videos on you tube. So I always get the cold produce, meaning, it was probably refrigerated last night and not out in a feel-thee basket with vermin dancing on them. Even so, what's a little rat pp among friends?
