Finally got to try this place after all these years. It was always a hit or miss on the days and times but finally the stars aligned. Make sure you follow their ig for their specials, closures, updates, and more. Located next to the Waiau park by the fire station, you'll find the red food truck. Their menu is simple and items range no more than $15. Very reasonable considering how much Thai food can be. We tried the chicken wings, spring rolls, their curry special, pork belly and pad thai. Everything was so delicious! Food portions were generous as well. We tried their Thai tea and coffee which both are great especially on a hot day. Definitely want to try their other food items.Make sure you come early as they often sell out of food and there always seems to be a line. Hopefully they'll make their curries a normal menu items instead of a weekly special.

Incredible home style Thai street food.Of course it's from a food truck situated in a residential neighborhood, open just three days a week where the Thai chef and her team / family work together freshly cooking up good eats. Aren't these the best kinds? There is a regular menu of typical staples ie pad Thai, pad see ew, and fried chicken wings that are all solid but you're here for the IG specials that change daily.Fishcakes and spring rolls make for solid snackables.Curries, outstanding. Only available Thursdays. Made in a limited batch with roots, herbs and spices crushed into a aromatic paste deeply seasoning the tender morsels of protein and melting veg. Balanced spice levels so as not to mask the flavors. Always a pleasing finish that goes on and on.Rice dishes, especially those finished with the signature crispy fried egg always a must. Crispy garlic pork, garlic beef, pork belly with crunchy gai lan (Chinese broccoli) just to name a few. Finally, noodle specials. The drunken noodles shine. Loaded with properly cooked protein of your choice, veg, and surprisingly a ton of mushrooms that act like a sponge sucking up the delicious seasoning. A brilliant addition to the perfect wok fried, wide noodles.IMPORTANT: Do check IG for holiday and last minute closures.Like all food trucks, do not go at the posted opening hours rather 15-20 minutes later to be sure they are ready.Cash or card.Visit after visit, always greeted with smiling faces and leaving with outstanding, satisfying grindz.

Food Truck! Conveniently located alongside Waiau District Park. No need drive all the way down the hill if you live in the neighborhood! All made to order! Expect a little wait. Good food takes time. Ordered Drunken noodles with chicken- My mother did not share so I guess it was good! It was a special today. See pic for specials. Thai Coffee - Loved it! Not sweet! Just right!Spring Rolls - Made to order so don't just pop those little ones in your mouth. Hot! These were okay after a minutes cool down. Nice crispy outside. Little filling. About pinky tall. Good snack but not very memorable.

No Ka' Oi Thai Food by Nattaya is absolutely legit! Food Truck is located up Kaahumanu St by the Waiau Fire Station / District Park. The ladies are super friendly and their food is "over the top!" We tried their Gai Tod (fried chicken), Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Khua Kai. Needless to say, everything was super onolicious! Everything is made-to-order so be prepared wait for your order - well worth it! Payment is cash but if you use a credit card, tax will be added to your order. Biggest problem is No Ka Oi being open for business only on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 am - 4 pm. Warning - if you come after 1:00, they are often "sold out" and will close early. So come early and enjoy!

11-16-21 was intrigued by a photo Yelp Elite Rod had posted a couple weeks back. Today we got the chance to find this food truck. It's nestled on the side of Waiau Park in an unlikely residential area by herself. One person was waiting for her order with a drink in hand. The lady taking the order was very understanding and patient. Our first time here my eyes were darting between the today's specials and their regular items. Our order was stir fried garlic chicken, a bit salty but tempered by the rice and over hard egg. Mind readers? That's exactly how I like my eggs most of the time. The lady told me the cook was from Thailand and so are their ingredients. The pad si ew noodles were gorgeous and wide as two of my fingers placed side by side. The taste was great. The thick meat slices were a wee bit chewy but quite plentiful. While we waited for our food to be cooked the lady came out of the truck and started a conversation. They will be closed for about a month and a half. She shared they'd like to take tours to Thailand perhaps fall next year. She wants to buy land and build a resort. She said Thailand is known as the land of smiles and she wants to bring Hawaii people there. Info will be posted in IG and at the food truck regarding the tours. Dates and locale of the food truck might change to two days from their current 3 days a week. The smell of the food on the way home was great and I couldn't wait to try them. Just in time cuz there was a downpour just before we reached our driveway.

My first time trying their food. I always see the their food truck at Waiau park since my daughter has soccer practice at the lower field. I was excited to finally try their food! I love drunken noodles so thought I try their version with pork belly. WOW...it was sooo ono!! I got it mild with some chili pepper flakes on the side. I couldn't really taste the spice so the chili pepper flakes gave the perfect amount of heat I needed. They gave a generous "Aloha Friday" portion. Thank you! Service was great. Food made to order! Will definitely try their other items next time!

Delicious & authentic Thai food on the go! I've seen this truck around many times but, had never actually gone until recently. I must say, their portion sizes are HUGE! One plate is definitely enough to feed 2 people. This truck is located at Waiau Park on Komo Mai Drive and there on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11am-5:30pm. The first time I had their food was when I sent my hubby to get me dim sum and hainanese chicken & rice for me during the very short period of time when they were open on Mondays. We got their steamed buns and pork hash were cooked perfectly and I LOVED the sauce it came with! It was sweet and salty! It was the same sauce that came with the chicken & rice dish. I had never had hainanese chicken and rice before so I'm not sure how it's supposed to taste but, it was delicious!!! The chicken was juicy, the rice was flavored with the both the chicken was cooked in, the dipping sauce definitely made the dish for me! I literally dumped it ALLL over! The side of cucumbers also added a nice crunch to the dish too!More recently, I went the truck on a Friday when they had their Friday special: fried pork belly with sticky rice for $12. I also got their Pad See Ew with beef ($10), Spring Rolls (5 for $3!) and their Thai tea (2 with a purchase of a plate, ala carte $3). Fried Pork Belly: I loved this dish!! So crispy, meaty, not fatty, and flavorful. There was a dipping sauce to go with it but, I felt it didn't even need it! The sticky rice was also cooked perfectly and is kept in foil so it didn't dry out. Pad See Ew: I've never tried this dish before, I usually get Pad Thai but, I decided to try something different! I also really enjoyed this dish. It was similar to Chinese chow funn. I loved the broccoli in this dish because it added a crunch to it. The beef was a little tough but, it was still good. I would get this again!Spring Rolls: these are on the smaller side but hey! Can't go wrong with 5 for $3! These were filled with vegetables and pork and came with sweet chili sauce. They were very crispy and filled with filling! Thai Tea: can't get Thai food without Thai tea! This was a bit tooo sweet for me but, overall super refreshing and balanced out all the salty food I had eaten. Again, for $2, can't go wrong!Overall, I haven't tried anything I didn't like from here! Definitely check it out if you're in the area and follow them on Instagram for their specials @no_ka_oi_thai_food!

I'm about 3 1/2 stars for now... I would go back but maybe not out of my way.No Ka Oi Thai opens on almost all weekdays. I believe Mondays are different hours than the other days. Check their IG for the latest scoops! They seem to have a pretty standard menu but also a few specials of the day - see the white board they put out front.I tried the pad thai and the pad grapow (ka pow?). The pad grapow was a bit salty for my taste (and I normally like salty food) and there was a ton of rice but not much of the main dish. The pad thai was cooked to order and was pretty good. I would have preferred a little spice in it (I'm sure I could ask for that). The stand out was the spicy garlic fries! I really enjoyed these. They weren't as oily as some other places garlic fries and the spice adds a nice kick! They also offer Thai coffee, Thai tea and Thai lemonade (not sure what's in that). It's $3 a cup but reduced to $2 if you purchase an entree which I think is a great deal! The truck accepts credit cards with a minimum purchase of $20. They park near Waiau park and are easy to spot. In the short time I was there, there were at least 5 people coming to get food so they are pretty popular! I'm not sure if there is a way to order ahead but that would be nice!

Their food is consistent. Very very good! Kind workers and they make an effort to get to know you. They were also very grateful for the support.
