NK Wine Shop

Small Chinatown liquor shop filled with a variety of different drinks --wine, whiskey, bourbon, etc. Doors are locked so you have to knock/call to be let in. Lots of different wines that I haven't seen sold anywhere else on island. This is probably a good spot for a true wine connoisseur. We were looking for some Spanish Tempranillo wine, however, there was none available. We decided to purchase a 10 year aged port wine from Portugal. Lady working was nice and helpful.Happy Drinking!

Good selection of harder to find wines and spirits. The lady working there was friendly and answered any questions as best she could. The store does close early compared to other alcohol stores, which seems to be typical of other surrounding businesses within Chinatown. Very few of them seem to stay open past sunset. If you are in the area worth checking out their selection. You might have to ring the doorbell or knock, as the door is kept locked to help in preventing theft. The bottles are all displayed within wooden shelves close together and have the price and a description about each bottle such as tasting notes, origin, etc.

The woman helping me was very helpful. Her recommendation made my visit productive - in and out in a few minutes with confidence that my purchase was a unique gift. Mahalo!

Stumbled across NK as we just landed at HNL and was pressed for time before our kbbq dinner. Quickly found meter parking off of Smith. Wasn't shocked to find the front door locked and waited a few minutes to be let in. Wendy warmly greeted us and recommended the 2012 Lyndenhurst and the 2012 Husic. Both opened up well after a few minutes in the decanter. Was pleasantly surprised at how affordable she has her bottles priced. Won't be going out of my way if I want to enjoy a decent bottle of wine while on vacation in HNL.

GOOD, SOLID PLACE FOR WINE. Good selection and if you're not a wine connoisseur the woman there is an expert and can guide you to something you might like. I explained to her what I wanted and I enjoyed the bottle she picked out for me. This place closes pretty early ... I think around 5:30pm (earlier on Saturday .. and closed on Sunday) so you'll need to get there early if you're intending to buy some wine for dinner to take to a BYOB restaurant in Chinatown.

Small wine shop in downtown with reasonably priced wine selections. Came here to check out their Riesling selection. It was limited but there were a few available. There were a lot more red wines if anything.

I've driven down on King Street past NK Wines almost every single day of 2015. Finally one day this past summer, I wandered into the store front wanting to check out what they have - I was floored by their selection. There was just SO much!After taking it all in, I immediately gravitated towards my favorite wine and Wendy was quick to acknowledge my selection and mention the sister wines from the same makers and vineyard. I was so impressed and chatted up with her about the business and about their alcohol selection. I am so totally taking my boyfriend here when it comes back. It's just wine heaven! The best part is how Wendy is knowledgable and is so friendly to make recommendations and ask what I like to drink or why I like a particular wine. Other wine shops either: 1. Make me feel stupid for even being in there, or 2. Ignore me while I feel the silent judgment as I paw through the various labels.If you haven't been here or are a new wine drinker, definitely come down and chat with Wendy! She'll be sure to help you find something for your taste! :)

Wonderful selection of wines and spirits!Wendy has a personality that I'm just drawn to. Not to mention she has Japanese Whisky that seem to be more and more difficult to find as the year goes by. On a few times that I've stopped in I was fortunate to get a taste of something. Of course that leads to me wanting to buy a bottle of it. That's a good thing in this industry right.... hahahaha You'll be pleasantly surprised of the inventory she carries and you'll forget about having to find parking. I've always said that if you have something that's good, people will come no matter what. This place is one of those. Sometimes you don't need all the pretty furniture and large amount of space to draw in the serious buyers. Someone mentioned to me that I should keep this place a secret, but it's too good not to share. If you're one of her frequent customers that buy the good stuff you'll get invited to those more exclusive tastings. Really who doesn't like to feel a little bit "special" or "vip" right???.... Wendy has great recommendations and if you're like me, you drink nearly everything. This place has wine, chardonnay, sake, whisky & whiskey (yes there's a difference because I love my whisky), scotch, bourbon and more. I hope you enjoy this place as much as we do. :-)

Best selection Was walking by, asked if they had a certain whiskey..... Scored a few "REALLY HARD TO FIND" whiskeys for husband and his friend... damnit, spent so much money... but husband was really excited

Best value and selection on the island. Good upper end choices. Can find it if they don't have it
