This review is a bit tardy, but I am finally coming around to giving some well-deserved praise. We found this place through Yelp when we were scouting a dance instructor for our wedding first dance. I have to hand it to my fellow Yelpers for the stellar recommendation; Ed was great. He is clearly passionate about what he does, and he and his wife Juliet are very accommodating. We have very busy schedules, and they rescheduled our sessions multiple times and met us in the evenings after work and even on weekends. We would be exhausted and many times did not even feel like going to dance lessons, but then we would end up having so much fun. Afterwards, we were always glad that we went. At times, it was very stress-relieving and even calming to go in. This is largely due to the fact that Ed and Juliet are such nice people, and they make dancing fun. Just to provide some context, we attended private dance lessons about once a week for a couple of months before our wedding. We had no real prior dancing experience. I usually feel really uncomfortable dancing. But Ed was very patient and went through basic dance steps just to get us more used to things. After we finally picked a first dance song, he practiced everything from the entrance through to the end of the dance. He tailored the moves to us and our song. There were many times that we just changed things so that they just felt more comfortable. We did not get a one-size-fits-all type of dance. That makes it all the more special.Just so you know Ed used to be a dance instructor for, I think, Arthur Murray before he had his own studio, so in going with Ed, you get Arthur Murray instruction but for a much more reasonable price. Due to an injury, he cannot dance as much as he would like to, but he often times would still show us how to do certain dance moves by bringing in Juliet to our dance session. I think Ed is due for a surgery, so he will be up and running again. However, the bottom line is that the best instructor is one who can teach people who do not know how to dance how to dance. And Ed is very good at that.

My fiancé & I were looking for an instructor to teach us the Waltz to perform at our wedding. We contacted Ed and he explained how ballroom dancing is his specialty especially with weddings. We decided to take our first lesson and we were very happy we chose him. We learned so much in our first hour and his coaching is very informative and he makes you feel comfortable. We decided to sign up for a 10 hour package because we are convinced that it will make our dance a special one. We highly recommend to any couple looking to learn ballroom dance or any type of dance to contact Ed or Juliet.

Harry and I took dance lesson 1 month prior to our wedding. With such a short of time to work with, we we're worried we wouldn't be able to put together and learn the moves for our first dance. Mr. ED is AMAZING, very patient especially with beginners like us, will make you feel comfortable the whole time, he choreographed a beautiful n unique dance for us and he works with our schedule at all times...HE is our dance-angel sent from the heavens to save our first dance HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM... Thank you for everything, we both have a great time learning something new together and it was an amazing experience.

Me and my Wife came here knowing nothing about dance but wanting to learn a little bit for our first dance for our wedding. I was hesitant at first but Ed worked with us and was very helpful, kind and patient throughout the whole process. We basically gave him a song that we wanted and he helped us choreograph the routine within a 2 month span. Ed worked with us step by step and I found it very enjoyable and fun even though I normally hate to dance. He was very accomadating with our schedule and was able to reschedule with any last minute conflicts. We were able to pull off our amazing first dance at our wedding perfectly and me and my wife couldn't be any happier. He really cares about the couple and the dance and will spend extra time after the private lesson if need be to make sure you have it perfected for your performance.

This review is WAY overdue, sorry! My now husband & I decided last minute that we wanted to do a choreographed ballroom number for our first dance at our wedding reception. With less than a month left before the wedding, I figured we might be able to find a place to teach us some basic steps & maybe a cool entrance (neither of us had any ballroom experience). SO glad we found Ed & Nix Performing Arts Center!! He choreographed an entire dance for us & he was so easy to work with. He was able to accommodate our schedules & even worked with us a little extra to make sure our dance was perfect....and it was!! A year later & guests still remember our first dance!

My fiance and I took dance lessons with Ed to learn a choreographed routine for our first dance. With absolutely no dance experience, we were wary about how it would go. We were THRILLED with the experience! Ed was very patient, encouraging, and so fun! It was a great experience for the both of us and we always left smiling, looking forward to our next lesson. Ed and Juliet made the entire experience easy and were always accommodating to fit our schedule. I really can't say enough about how enjoyable the experience was!

My husband and I chose this place to learn a choreographed ballroom dance. I was a little wary of taking dance classes before, because I didn't want to be taught by a demanding instructor who required perfection. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to learn from our dance teacher, Ed. He was very patient and taught us our entire choreography within 3 classes. They were very accommodating to our busy work schedules and were able to meet us at our convenience. We were also able to reschedule lessons without any problems. It was very exciting to learn from instructors who have had over 35 years of experience in the art of dance. I feel very confident that our dance will be nearly perfect.

For a company that's been around for over 10 years, they sure are unorganized!!! I don't know how they made it this long??? Purchased a groupon and was surprised to find that the "fine print" on the Groupon failed to mention the $20 registration fee that you need to pay to sign up for a class. $20 on a $45 class is pretty steep if you ask me. I think they should have at least had the courtesy to mention it in the fine print. They were good at collecting my registration fee and redeeming the groupon. What they failed to do is register my daughter for the class. I would have to go early before every class and ask if she had been registered yet. Nope. Lost registrations must be a common occurance there because she never remembered me and I had to explain who i was and my situation over and over.Even better? They told me to go to a class that didn't even exist. Luckily i called before the class started just to be safe. I guess not enough students registered for the class so it was cancelled. Would have been nice if they called to inform me the class was cancelled, but how could they since they never actually registered my daughter for the class??? The only reason i'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is because my daughter really enjoyed the teacher and the class. ...although...i guess a good thing is that i can keep using the "you lost my regsistration" line indefinitely until they figure it out? we will never need to pay for another class since they never remember us anyway. scary.
