Great neighborhood park. Unique playground design, close to tennis courts, and huge grass field. The trees nearby provide good shade and free street parking.

I found this park by accident. It really on a hidden road in a residential area. When I got there I was like hey, I've been here before. My sister used to play her soccer games there every weekend. But when I went there was no playground. It was just a big grassy area. Now they have a huge playground apparatus. I especially like this park because it's different. Most of the other parks are all cookie cutter kind of playground equipment. They all have pretty much the same design. But this one has more climbing thing. They have ropes to climb, a more challenging stairway to get up to the slide, hand bicycles, and balancing things. My daughter loves coming to this park. It always nice because we've been there a few times already and it's almost always empty. I gave only four stars because the flies there are awful. I don't even know where they are coming from since there wasn't a trash bin or anything nearby. But it was like you couldn't even stand in one spot for a minute. The flies just kept coming on you and it was getting annoying. Hopefully it was just that day. I'll test it out again.

Neighborhood parks are a place to come and just enjoy the outdoors and away from the craziness that life throws at us. Discovering a new park while trying to figure out lunch plans is even more epic. The Niu Valley neighborhood is usually a quiet one, so I was interested in finding the Niu Valley neighborhood park somewhat a blessing when I needed a place to sort out what was for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I arrived here around 1:15pm via public transportation. The Bus routes 1, 1L, 22, 23, and 24 come through this stretch of paradise and stop along Kalanianaole Highway. You'll need to walk about¼ mile or so from the highway itself to get to the park. During my most recent stay at the Niu Valley neighborhood park, I tended to just walk around the perimeter of the park and check out what this park has to offer. The plus side is that there's nice gym equipment for kids to play and families to gather here for an evening here to spend time together before dinner. The equipment doesn't look aged at all and the park itself seems maintained on a weekly basis. I do enjoy the park when it's very green during the year. Any sight of yellow or no grass seems to be a lack of maintenance - at least for me anyway. Niu Valley neighborhood park seems like its an extension of Niu Valley middle school, but its not. I spent about an hour here relaxing, enjoying, and walking through the park before making my lunch plans. It's always nice to have the park do your serious thinking for you.The overall experience here at the Niu Valley neighborhood park is classified as subtle, classic, and quiet. The wind that comes through the area is always brisk and sometimes breezy too. While I was here at the Niu Valley neighborhood park, there was just a couple of people here, not including myself. Neighborhood parks are a great and inexpensive way to spend the day without having to spend money. Of course, you can walk and cruise the mall, but chances are you don't spend money at a park. I love the groomed nature of the park and how neat and organized everything here is. The quiet ambiance of Niu Valley neighborhood park is what excites me when I can come back here, if I am in the area. For the most part though, I ended up walking around the perimeter of the park, which isn't too far around. I also people watched as something to do while doing those laps. I enjoyed the fact that this neighborhood park is definitely clean and away from basically everything and off the main road. If you ever need the mental time off, consider coming here to rest and recharge. Although the 2020 pandemic can be a problem, do what you can so that the Niu Valley neighborhood park can be of value to you. I'd recommend coming here if you are in the area and worth every second being here. It made me smile and hope it will bring you happiness too.The Niu Valley Neighborhood park has been a fun and soothing discovery. I'm glad that there is no visible homeless situation here - at least during the day. One major turn off when I come to neighborhood parks is the tents and all the garbage that's haphazardly on the property. I enjoyed my experience here at the Niu Valley neighborhood park, especially because it is tucked away into the residential area away from the main drag. It makes for a perfect peaceful getaway that's sure to please anyone and everyone who comes here. The park its great for families and individuals. I bet this park is used on a daily basis during the school year, since it's located next to Niu Valley middle school. It's physical address is 5510 Kanau Street on the western side of Halemauau Street. Like all community and neighborhood parks, there is no admission fee, which is awesome and expected. As far as parking goes, your best bet would be to try to find street parking on residential roads wherever you can to be as close to the park as possible. Let mother nature take you where you want to be. Consider coming to Niu Valley neighborhood park for a session.5.0 stars for the overall experience.Support local!A+

This is our neighborhood park... it's nice to have a different play set from the other nearby parks and a huge lawn to R-U-N around. Lots of parking, 2 picnic benches, and a trash can. No bathrooms or water fountain so be prepared to run to "Jack in the box" around the corner or 7 11 to grab a drink. This park is connected to Niu Valley middle school and usually not too busy on the non school hours enjoy and see you here
