Wow pleasantly surprised. This small mom and pop shop with the guy speaking broken English serves up on of the best combo phos on island. Their broth is savory with depth and a hint of sweetness, exactly how I like it. All the meats - brisket, tripe, rare steak, are tender and flavorful. The herbs are fresh and plentiful bagged up for us in our takeout order. The pho costs about $17.50 each, which is not cheap but slightly above average. The location in Kakaako isn't the best and it's not the nice part of Kakaako, yet the prices are higher than expected. Oh well at least their pho is amazing and this can be our new regular takeout spot now!Parking can be challenging even for just a quick pickup. I ended up parking outside of some business in its driveway on Queen st with my emergency lights on. Otherwise there are maybe 4 curb spots on Cooke st outside the restaurant, but there are at least 2 other restaurants adjacent to Niu so it can be challenging I suppose.

I ordered the pho dac biet and the broth was a bit on the bland side, but the sauces added some much needed flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly and there was a decent amount of meat. However, one thing i noticed was that the beef was a bit tougher. Overall, I thought it was just an okay bowl of pho with room for improvement. Service here is also subpar, they don't seem to be of the friendliest.

Ambiance had a home style feel to it. Also it wasn't too busy when we went. Service was average. I felt like after we got our food they stopped coming by. Parking is hit or miss. If you are lucky there is street parking in the front, if not across the street. Food wise. Pho combination: 8/10. The broth was clear and flavorful. Would come back again. Lemongrass Banh Mi: 10/10. Would recommend this. Chicken had taste with every bite. And worth every cent for the price. Spring rolls: 7/10. Taste pretty much like every other Vietnamese restaurant but make for good appetizers.

This time I tried the spicy lemongrass chicken...and let's just say I'm still dreaming about it!! This cute little hole in the wall restaraunt is quaint and comforting, with fast and friendly service. Can't wait to try more of their menu!

Got the garlic tofu, tofu rolls, and spring rolls via Uber Eats. Overall, the food was pretty god, sans the mint leaves in the tofu rolls. Would definitely come here again.

The pho is really oily, broth was gross and meat quality isn't great. I would make the trek to Chinatown.

I've been buying from different restaurants along that strip, but always thought it was still that Korean restaurant, and come to find that Niu Baguette BBQ replaced the korea restaurant 5 years ago. Today I was able to try their food. It's a very small restaurant with only maybe 4 - 5 tables, but I ordered to go anyway.Grilled Pork and Spring roll vermicelli - 4 stars - for $15.50, the noodles were soft and the vegetables were fresh. The pork was ok, but compared to the pork I ate at other restaurants, the pork as well as the vietnamese dressing flavor were very light. Service - 5 stars - they were very nice and took my order right away and thanked me after giving me my food.Street metered parking right in the front of the restaurant.
