My absolute favorite store on the island. If you're in the need for healthy snacks, your dose of other Hawaiian snacks and goodies, chicken feed and an abundant selection of adaptogen drinks and herbal teas and coffees. This lovely family-owned shop has it ALL.And if you get the pleasure of meeting Nii Superette's owner, Stephen - he is the most knowledgeable, passionate and kind soul. Stephen puts his heart and soul into the selection of products at his shop, ask him anything about healthy snacks, adaptogen drinks and non-alcoholic beverages.Visit and support a long-time family owned business, you won't be disappointed. Mahalo for all of your help, guidance and for educating me about so many different products!

Checked out this pretty small grocery and health food store in Waipahu to get a few items. It doesn't have a whole lot but it has some things at least. Nii Superette is better than the chains with it being locally owned. A lot of the basic drinks and energy bars. The prices aren't that good to be honest. Basic looking market with a lot of things placed randomly about. It's got a large open section in the middle. They could fit more in here even though the place is small. A lot of pretty random products in here. There's a lot of so called health products like kombucha and various organic chocolates and energy bars that make good snacks. Also they have lots of bags of chicken feed. There's chickens all over Hawaii so it makes sense. For sure it's a place to get things when you need something on the go. It's just kind of overpriced it seems. There's a lot of basic items you can find cheaper in regular grocery stores but there's still some good things.

I stopped last week and they have shut down. Apparently moved to town. Will send a picture of the notice the next time I go by there.

I never knew a place like this was in Waipahu! The drink counter was not open when we went but we bought several items at the store. I was really excited about this because I've wanted to buy these online but it's just too much between committing to a whole case and the shipping. At NII, you can non- alcoholic drinks by the can. They also have cute garnishes like dried fruits and flowers and cute plastic drinking glasses. Perfect for a good new years start!

This spot has all your NA beverages and alternative energy drinks as well as the most reliable selection of animal feed I've seen in Waipahu. They also have a huge section of vegan and herbalist and alternative lifestyle products.

Stephen Nii is at the top of his game! He runs a beautiful store and is very stocked with all kinds of fabulous alternatives for alcohol, tobacco, and dangerous drugs. You will find that he is very well educated, and is very knowledgeable about the things that he sells and doesn't mind speaking to anyone about it who wants to learn and know better, this business is a very valuable gem in Waipahu!

Awesome, quirky store. The owner was very friendly and patient. He explained in detail about some of the drinks and elixirs and it affects the body! Will be coming back :)

This store has been here forever and to my recollection it hasnt changed much.Located right next to kisos or diagnally across hans L'orange park....Its so cool to see these old school Mom & Pop stores still exist. I guess back in the days beforeregular and massive shopping markets there were these little superettes .....Pretty cool besides canned goods..a deli...frozen foods ...seafood section...snacks..icecream . ice ...fresh food they also have pretty extensive liquor selections and sell feed for livestock.I like that places like Nii superette still exist serving their communities with convenience and old word charm.

Mental note: never do business at Nii superette again. If I could leave negative stars, this would be the time. Anyone who knows me well knows that I am not one to complain to a business or their employees. I never even ask restaurant workers to correct food if it comes out not how I ordered. I had just gone in to by some chicken food at Nii and unfortunately did not have my debit card or cash on me. I asked the kind girl working the register before ringing up the food if they take Apple Pay. She said yes, but it only worked on the other register. Not an issue at all. So I grabbed the small bag of food and walked over to the other register. She rings everything up, total $7.06. I pay with my Apple Pay which is connected through my bank, and it says approved and I see the pending charge notification pop up on my phone. The receipt does not print and the girl working said there was an error that said it was unable to connect to the printer. I said no worries, I don't need a receipt but she needed it for their system. Again, not an issue. So she says she needed to ask the manager. This is where things go south. The manager/owner Steven (or Stephen I'm not certain of the spelling) comes over and looks at the screen for a little bit, and says "that's why, we don't take Apple Pay." Mind you, I am being very VERY nice throughout this ordeal until the end. I said that that was odd, as the payment had gone through on my phone and was showing as a charge in my bank account. He again said "well we don't take Apple Pay." I then said "if you don't take Apple Pay I'm not sure how it went through?" this is when he started getting rude and he says "I am not going to say this again, we don't take Apple Pay" I just looked at him and said "okay how can I get the charge reversed then?" "WE DONT TAKE APPLE PAY" I showed him the charge in my bank that says "Nii Superette" and he says "well that's cool but we don't take it so" and he shrugs. I asked how I can get the $7 back and he says I'll need to contact my bank. I asked if he would like me to put the food back for him since I would not be able to purchase it, even though the payment had gone through. He stared and said "please"My response? "Okay asshole." I put the food back, walked out to my car, and called to file a dispute with my bank to try and get the $7 back. I am not mad about the amount. It's only $7. My issue is that this could have been handled so much more appropriately than how it was. But according to other people I have spoken with regarding this individual, any time there is something involving money, he feels as if he is being scammed. I'm not sure how I would be scamming as I showed the pending charge through my bank. It's not like I was trying to steal from the store, I had asked how to get the money back and to put the item back on the shelf since I couldn't purchase the item (even though the charge went through.)I had already had a terrible day, and this was just the icing on the cake. Apologies for the long post, I just hope no one else encounters this problem there.Edit: updated picture with the charge still there, and please don't judge the amount, times are very tough. I'm just showing that I still never got it refunded or reversed.

Handy place to pick up chicken feed. The only problem is that the chick starter is not quality controlled. Sometimes, instead of whole bits, the starter feed bag has so much powder in it. In fact, we tried another brand of layer feed. Bought the big bag and the crumble wasn't even whole bits and lots of powder. Really felt disappointed, like we wasted our money on this one too.Added another star to my overall rating. Owner responded about the quality control. I can understand his point of view. He also was kind enough to offer suggestions to make the most of powdery batch of chick starter and layer crumble. Thank you! Will try that, as we do like shopping at Nii's for our flock.
