My wife and I live in LA so when we decided to get married in Hawaii, we knew we wanted to work with a well-established wedding planner to help us navigate the local landscape. We reached out and interviewed a few planners and Nichole stood out right away. We felt she answered our questions honestly and set proper expectations compared to some others who just told us what they thought we wanted to hear. We ultimately decided to put our faith in Nichole and she proved to be worth every penny.Nichole is extremely thorough, proactive, and reliable. One of the first things she had us do was fill out a questionnaire to prioritize different aspects of our wedding day (food, photography, flowers, venue, etc). Then, she used our responses to allocate our overall budget appropriately and only recommended vendors from her book of business who fit our criteria. For transparency and accountability, Nichole also gave us access to an online wedding planning tool that managed every task and deliverable, big or small, all the way up to the big day. Additionally, Nichole was always easy to reach when we needed to talk things through and she made thoughtful recommendations when we needed them. In the end, not only did Nichole put together a picture perfect wedding day for us, she also made the planning process easy, fun, and most importantly, stress-free. We never had to worry about anything and we always looked forward to talking with her or reading her emails. We have all the confidence that you will have an amazing experience working with Nichole and we strongly recommend her services.

Nichole was amazing to work with from start to finish, even through covid and e-mailing from LA. From our first conversation, she knew that budget was important to us and sent us an extremely accurate budget estimate prior to us signing our contract. She was extremely responsive and professional. She knew the correct vendors to help turn our dreams into reality, and many of them were wiling to throw in an extra discount because we were working with Nichole. The ideas that she and her recommended vendors came up with were more beautiful than we ever imagined. She even stored wedding supplies and decorations we shipped to her for no additional cost. This was incredibly helpful since we weren't local. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our wedding plans due to covid. However, Nichole made sure to advocate on our behalf to each vendor to try to get us a full refund. She even continued checking in to make sure that we actually received our refund. My fiancé and I could not recommend Nichole more. She was worth every penny.

Where do I even begin with how happy my husband and I are we chose to work with Nichole for our big day! We used Nichole for our day of coordinator and she was such a blessing to have. Highly organized, very into every detail, and most importantly wants to help create the day you are dreaming of. She didn't miss a beat from the day we started to work with her and did so much that is not part of her job description. Her and her assistant Jana helped to coordinate the most incredible day for us and we are so lucky that we chose her. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding planner on Oahu! You won't be disappointed!

Let me first say that I am a wedding photographer, and I have worked with many wedding planners. And while I consider Nichole my "friend," I simply cannot say enough about Nichole as a business person.Nichole is planning our wedding in April, and I just don't want to wait until after the wedding to write this review. I already know that having her plan our wedding has helped us tremendously. The best part is that she is very enthusiastic in her work, which makes for a very refreshing experience that you don't expect when planning a wedding. After being in the wedding industry, I thought I knew a lot, but this experience with Nichole makes it even easier for me to highly recommend a wedding planner. There is so much DIY out there today and, while it can be done by yourself with little headaches, having someone to coordinate everything and keep things on track is truly valuable. When you are planning a large scale event, someone like Nichole can really drive things with velocity and efficiency.Save yourselves from the headaches and hire Nichole. Now.

I can't express how grateful I am to have had Nichole Shin as my wedding planner for our October 2022 wedding. From the initial consultation to the last dance, Nichole was amazing. Her servies were worth every penny! We talked to 3 wedding planners in Jan 2022, but chose Nichole. She helped us (in California) plan our dream wedding in only 9 months! She is warm and kind, and answers any question without making you feel dumb (even if I felt like it was a dumb question to ask!). Nichole does not do many weddings per a year (1-2 weddings a month). Some wedding planners do 50 weddings a year! Those wedding planners don't have enough attention to give your wedding. Because Nichole limits the weddings she does, she can focus on you and your wedding, which we valued. She is super responsive to our communication. She also sent us a sweet welcome package when we signed the contract with her. Nichole was also not pushy and non-judgemental when it came to decisions. She provided us the info to make a decision and let us decide.From the start, Nichole set us up on Aisle Planner. This had a VERY helpful checklist of what we needed to get done by when, and a budget section to track spending. She worked with us to create an initial budget. I loved that she could help us with deciding how to much to spend on different parts of the wedding. For example, she sent us example photos for each price point for flowers. It was super helpful! Based on our budget, Nichole recommended us a few vendors that fit our style and budget. It saved us so much research time to get a pre-vetted list and all the vendors were amazing. She helped us set up times to chat with all the vendors and we quickly reserved all the vendors. Nichole is so knowledgeable and experienced with the vendors as well. She knows which linen rentals company on the island is the best and which caterer's staff would be willing to help move chairs/furniture (from ceremony to the reception). Nichole also shielded us from the drama that was happening behind the scenes at the venue. There was some back-and-forth with the caterer at the last minute and Nichole helped with that.She worked with me to generate a design concept for the wedding. I already picked out a venue that I wanted (Dillingham Ranch). Luckily Nichole had done several weddings there before, so she knew the layout. I told her where I wanted the ceremony and the cocktail hour, and she figured out the layout for the venue (which tables go where, photobooth, DJ table, etc). She knew exactly which rentals we needed, so I didn't have to worry about it. She gave us a nice PDF of all the rental options and price points. Nichole made sure to review all the contracts we were signing as well. She helped me with the design of the table places and they turned out so gorgeous! She also helped us figure out a timeline for the wedding day and book a hotel block.When we came to visit Oahu pre-wedding, Nichole joined us at the venue to look around and confirm our layout worked. She also helped us book the caterer tasting and accompanied us (the cake tasting was the best part!). We also wanted a welcome event and post-wedding brunch. Nichole recommended venues for the post-wedding brunch (which we planned ourselves). She helped us print our stationary for the wedding and set those up on the day of the wedding. We were also able to ship Nichole packages via Amazon that we needed (i.e. frames, etc). We were able to borrow some of Nichole's items for the wedding as well.The only minor lapse on our wedding day was that the makeup artist did not follow the schedule Nichole created. They took too long, so my mom's makeup wasn't done in time for getting ready photos. But that wasn't Nichole's fault, and she later mentioned if I had told her earlier, then we probably could have gotten a partial refund! Her assistants were very helpful during phototaking since they helped with my dress (so my bridemaids could go enjoy cocktail hour).Out of everyone I know who has had a wedding planner, we are the only couple who likes their wedding planner Everyone one else I know did not have a good experience with theirs. Keep in mind, even with a full-service wedding planner, you will still have to make a lot of decisions and do work yourself (i.e. invitations, managing RSVPs/wedding website, designing stationary, picking music/outfits, etc). But trust me when I say that you will not regret picking Nichole to help plan your wedding!

Where to begin! My husband and I are located on the East Coast, and when we decided to get married in Hawaii we knew we were going to need some help from a planner. After going through numerous calls and emails with other vendors, the moment we spoke to Nichole we knew immediately we were going to use her for our wedding. From our first phone call in 2021 to our wedding in 2023, Nichole has been an absolute pleasure to work with. Nichole and her staff have helped us every step of the way. Not once during our wedding planning process was I stressed, which was so helpful as I was in grad school and am Type A. We even flew out to Hawaii in 2022 to do tastings and trials, and Nichole planned EVERYTHING for us. I genuinely could not have asked for a better team to work with and I am so so so happy she was by our side at our wedding. There was not a single hiccup on our big day. Love you Nichole!

Could not have had a better experience! Nichole not only met our expectations, she exceeded them by orders of magnitude. She helped orchestrate the most magical wedding we could have imagined. Hiring Nichole and her team was by far the best decision we made for our wedding. We worked with her for over two years over the course of our engagement (and the pandemic) to plan, reschedule, and re-plan our wedding. She was with us every step of the way, helping us navigate everything while we were at home in NYC. Travel out to Hawaii was difficult at the time and we were nervous about having to do everything remotely, but Nichole could not have made it easier for us. It's clear she has built up a ton of trust with other vendors in Hawaii, making our decision-making process easy and allowing us to focus on the things that really mattered. If you are at all considering hiring Nichole to plan your wedding in Hawaii - JUST DO IT! You will not regret it and we are so happy she was a part of our day.

Hard to contact. Emailed and called her and went back and forth but she was not responsive mostly or didn't hear back from her most of the time and had to keep following up. I like working with people who are responsive and call and email back consistently and don't go MIA.

I cannot say enough positive things about Nichole and Nichole Wedding & Events. Although I grew up in Hawaii, I was planning my wedding from more than 4,000 miles away. Nichole took care of everything at every step and walked us through the process of wedding planning seamlessly. She suggested multiple vendors for every element, and at times, provided so many good options that it was difficult to choose from them all. She listened to our vision and was sensitive to our budget, as well as our family dynamics. I preferred to communicate primarily via email with Nichole due to my busy schedule and the time difference, and she was always on top of this. She responded to my emails very quickly and there were many times when she made me feel like I was her only bride. She handled little details, like making sure that the ribbon on the seating cards matched the bridesmaid dresses and putting together more than 40 welcome bags for our guests, and many more things that I never would have thought of.The day of the wedding went seamlessly. She was there from early in the morning to late at night, and I did not worry about a thing. Everything went perfectly and so many of our guests commented on the fact that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. The details were flawless, and everything that had been important to us was just perfect and better than we could have envisioned. Spending your money on a wedding planner is the best money you can spend if you want to truly enjoy the process. Nichole is a master at what she does, she is truly the best! If you are looking for a wedding coordinator who will make sure that your wedding day is more than you could have imagined then Nichole is the one for you.
