This is my homes recreation center that I pay about $100/quarter for access to the facilities. The good is that it is a place I can rent out affordably for medium size parties and events. They have a pool table, table tennis, a swimming pool, a gym, a sauna, basketball, tennis courts, a kiddie pool, and a kids play area. The bad thing is the that recreation center is pretty old and getting beaten up. They have a staff that provides security, maintenance, and office services. The parking lot is not large but large enough a medium sized party. The hours are reasonable as are their rules. The only thing I don't like is that I have a pay to bring guests to the enjoy the facilities. I understand trying to be excusive but I feel I should be able to bring friends for a visit. Overall, I enjoy having the use of the recreation center and my wife and daughter enjoy the gym while my son and I like the pool and the table tennis.

My hometown Rec Center. Fun times growing up here, attending Summer Fun, doing Arts n Crafts... and after school spent time hanging out with friends. There's an Upstairs Lounge with a pool table, tv, tables and living room size space to rent for parties or meetings. I teach my 5pm Holistic Yoga class every Monday for the residences of Newtown. Guests pay $3. The Upstairs Lounge overlooks the swimming pool, basketball court and tennis court. It's a really nice view of the neighborhood. In the front lobby, there's a ping pong table and a second pool table. A Larger room is also available for party rentals with a stage. There's also a kitchen / patio area above the swimming pool that can be used for parties as well. There's a indoor gym, changing rooms and outdoor showers for the swimming pool.

Had an free outreach Yoga class. That was awesome.Like the facility. But there is a $2 charge to register as a guest per visit. One of the down falls is we were on the 2nd floor and no elevators. The room looks a little on the darker side and a little cozy. Window view is nice overlooking the pool and mountains. Looking forward to more yoga classes. The instructor there is very flexible and does an excellent job teaching. You leave there feeling better about yourself and very refreshed. Monday evening is free from 5-6:30pm.

Ten years ago i would've given this rec center a 5 star rating. I spent a lot of time there growing up in Newtown. There's a huge pool, basketball & tennis courts, a little gym, pool & foosball table. Now, however, I realize how dated it is. All the equipment and furniture is probably from the 70s when it was first built with the exception of the little gym. We've thrown a couple of small parties here over the years. One party was held just last year...the staff has gotten so strict now. They micromanage the set up time. If u need to be out at 3pm, they want u out at at 3pm sharp, no grace period. The young workers at the counter take their job too seriously when it comes to regulating who comes into the center, but they seem lax when they're playing on their phones, laptops, and talking stories with each other. This place isn't what it used to be. They even use to have awesome Christmas parties every year with catered food. I rarely go to this rec center now, too much hassle with the staff for an outdated place...2 stars given for: 1) location since they're right down the road from me and 2) the memories I have of this place when I was younger.

Love it!! They got everything you need to stay healthy and fit! The gym is a little dated but if you know what you're doing then they have everything you need to get an excellent workout! :) The pool is great! It's actually longer than your average pool so it goes up to 8 ft instead of the 6. Their kiddie pool is great also. My grandkids love it! And they have a playground for them also. :)They also have a basketball court, pool table, little library and classes of all sorts! :)Oh and you can throw parties there too! :)I wish they opened earlier and closed later hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

Always a good place to go whether it be for a place to swim, a court to shoot some hoops, or needing to let the kids run around at the huge kid friendly playground. I am very pleased with the amenities that this recreation center has to offer. I know that my children love to come here and the kiddie pool is definitely a plus when it comes to my three year old and my special needs daughter. I am relieved that they do offer drinks and snacks. I know that the office also offers basketballs and other balls to rent so that you can use the courts. The hoops and the equipment are a bit rusty and unmovable. You must have shoes in order to go on the courts. For the kiddie pool, no toys are allowed. They are pretty lenient though. For the big pool, flotation devices are allowed from what I have seen. They also offer showers and a water fountain. They have two full party areas and a hall for special occasions. I feel like what we all pay in fees yearly should be able to upkeep and upgrade this facility. I would like to see more done and changes made to make the center more modern and appealing. Honestly, slight renovations and upgrade of equipment, carpets, etc. wouldn't hurt. The staff at the front are not always so friendly as well. I do however like the pin check in system instead of the finger print.

*Review is based on the party hall*A bit of an older recreation center. Nothing extravagant. There is a kitchen, which is pretty cool.Doesn't seem to have much parking. They don't have a projector or screen. It's location doesn't get much breeze so it is very humid.I'd honestly rather spend a few extra hundreds for AC and a few other amenities.

The staff at the rec center are excellent: very flexible, supportive and friendly. We started to use the rec center over the last two years given our return to the community (after many years away). Great for guests, scouting (which they hosted a pack for over 40 years), judo (which they hosted a club for over 15 years), and many other activities. The courts, pool and rec halls are well kept up
