The menu is large and I was able to get a custom order - chicken Katsu and bbq chicken Chicken katsu - the cuts were a little thicker and had a bit more chicken than other places I've been to. The meat was juicy and tender. The sauce was ok, didn't love it didn't hate it BBQ chicken - not my usual order but it seemed popular. Glad I ordered it, it was also super juicy and had a good grilled flavor. Mac - not memorable but good Food came quickly and there's a couple of tables inside. It seems like most of the people were there for takeout. Street parking. We got lucky with parking nearby but parking may have been difficult otherwise.

My recent visit to Queen Street BBQ left me deeply disappointed, to say the least. It was an experience that ultimately fell far short of expectations.Upon arrival, the ambiance seemed promising as my previous encounter of their chicken katsu triggered a craving. And with the aroma of local plate lunches wafting through the air, I was eager to try their offerings. For this visit, I placed an order for the lemon chicken and settled in, anticipating a satisfying meal.However, what followed was a series of disappointments. The wait time for my order was excessively long, stretching over 20 minutes. This delay was particularly frustrating, given that other customers after me received their order fairly quickly.When my order finally arrived, the disappointment only deepened. Some pieces of the lemon chicken, which I had been eagerly anticipating, were undercooked. The batter remained raw and doughy, leaving an unpleasant taste in my mouth. It was clear that the dish was not properly prepared, rendering it inedible.The experience left me with a sour taste, both figuratively and literally. Queen Street BBQ's lemon chicken was a complete letdown, and would not recommend it to others. If you choose to dine here, do so at your own risk, but be prepared for the possibility of disappointment.

Influenced by social media , today we tried 3 mini plates so we could try 3 different items. It worked out perfectly. Ended up with 3 scoops rice and 3 Mac salads and lots of protein. Ended up with leftover Mac and just a lil garlic chicken. If I were you and you like 2 scoops of rice just order one mini all rice. I did not think that far ahead. Hamburger steak was delicious. It did not disappoint. I believe it was homemade patties and old school scratch gravy. Fried chicken was nice and crispy. It wasn't your regular home style fried chicken it had a slight Chinese seasoning but not overwhelming. YummyGarlic chicken this was ok but if you like it on the sweeter side, this is not for you. Portions were good and Mac salad was average. Highly recommend. Will return for more hamburger steak for sure.

Breakfast in Honolulu, Hawaii...My Aunty Nohea was wondering about the location of my niece's Graduation party. I told her that I could take her there and show her exactly where to park! After our trial run and site inspection, she offered to treat me to breakfast. I used my Yelp app and searched for a restaurant nearby.I suggested New Queen Barbeque. Aunty Nohea knew exactly where it was because she used to work in the area! Yay!We found free street parking around the corner on Kawaiha'o Street and we walked down the block.New Queen Barbeque is located on the corner of Queen Street and Cooke Street. It was a clean, bright, straightforward, order, pay, and pick-up at the counter type of place. There are five tables for dining in, but most customers did takeout. The door was left open, so, the air conditioning is just average.I ordered the regular (not mini) Hamburger Steak. It came with a light brown gravy, potato salad, and two scoops of rice. The potato salad was not memorable and the Hamburger was just okay. The gravy helped me eat more rice. I was hungry and it filled me up. This was a thoughtful meal from my Aunty and I'm grateful for her kindness! I'd return if I could find free street parking again!

My wife saw a post from Nadine C. She had mentioned the hamburger steak. That's one of my wife's favorite dishes. Willing to try someplace new, we went there for lunch. I got lucky and got a parking space near the restaurant. It was busy with a lot of takeout orders. The service was fast and friendly. They have a few tables for dine in. The dine in area is spacious and clean. Debbie ordered the mini hamburger steak and a mini bbq short ribs for me. I got to try her hamburger steak. The hamburger was homemade, but a little dry. It was the gravy that made the dish. My short ribs had a good flavor, and the char was perfect. Of the two pieces of meat, one was tender and the other not so tender. While waiting for our food, I noticed the people were ordering the fried chicken. Will be back to try it. Enjoy.

Wow I drove past this place many times, shame on me for not stopping by for a bite. Today I was just looking for breakfast and maaaayyyynnnn the breakfast combo!!!$8 bucks in ward is awesome, which included 2 eggs, 1 spam, 2 pocho sausage, 2 links, and 4 bacon!!!! Most places would probably cost 15-20+ bucks for that. Not to mention, it was only after my order was almost done I see a sign for $1 adder for fried rice, shucks. Definitely going try that next time. I forgot to ask for over easy when I grabbed my bag and was like oh no don't be scrambled haha. We'll it seems to be standard as over easy it was, so if u want scramble be sure to ask. On top of the deal my food was out in a few minutes behind one small order and a large order, so gray job on quick time. Inside is your normal plate lunch seating area. There is also metered street parking along the north bound lane of Cooke St. They h e a good size menu, and I definitely will be back to try some of their other food. For now I found my go to breakfast spot in ward area haha!!!

Prior to COVID, there used to be a selection of good breakfast places in Kakaako open quite early in the morning. I usually start work early and often pick up breakfast to take to the office.However, since the pandemic, the options have dwindled. Fortunately, New Queen's Barbeque in Kakaako still opens at 5 am on weekdays. As I approach it in the early morning darkness, it appears like an oasis in an otherwise gloomy neighborhood.They have a busy and clean kitchen, and the restaurant is brightly lit.I started coming here again to expand my breakfast options. In addition to the usual bacon & eggs and loco moco, I sometimes crave something more substantial.My favorites at New Queen's so far are their Breakfast Combo with fried rice, Loco Moco, Beef Curry and Beef Stew.I especially like their stews, local style with big chunks of tender beef, potatoes and carrots. Fast service diner with several tables for dine in. Prices are reasonable. Good value for a hearty meal. Check out my breakfast combo for $8.39 plus tax. I like mine with some shoyu,black pepper on my eggs, and some ketchup.

Great food and portion for such an affordable price. A plate is easily 2 meals for me. I've only tried their Mochiko Chicken Plate and Loco Moco Plate ($12.95 for each regular size), and both were really good. The chicken was light and crispy (not oily) with a good sweet savory flavor. My over easy egg for the Loco Moco was cooked to perfection, the patties are well seasoned, and the gravy has the perfect consistency and adds that extra flavor and moisture. The Mac salad is really solid (I love to add Tabasco). Service was quick and efficient (you can order online for a $1 service fee).
