Takeout from Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii...Since I was in the neighborhood, I searched my Yelp app for something to eat... LOL! It was between lunch and dinner, so most places would have easy parking and no crowd.I selected New Mui Kwai Chop Suey because my friend, Donna O., checks in a lot. There's a New Mui Kwai restaurant in Kaneohe, but I've been there before and the chef is not the same... let's compare...Inside, the old school restaurant was empty. My order was ready. Service was friendly and efficient!I called to order so I could get my food quicker... haha! I ordered kau yook (pot roast pork) with taro and Minute chicken cake noodle. I took pictures of my food right there so I could dig in when I got home. I didn't get a good photo of the rice cake... i waited until I got home and the lighting wasn't as good as the restaurant's lighting. Sorry.Gosh... everything tasted so delicious - maybe because I was hungry? I'm not really a picky eater, so I'm happy with most food. Chinese food is like comfort food for me. Anyway, if I'm in the area again, I'd go here!

My boyfriend decided to treat me here for dinner Friday night. As we walked in, the lady told us where to sit. The place was runned down and literally looked old inside. I got to try a few dishes but all we're just okay. Nothing new I tried but the food seemed to taste okay. The noodles ended up getting soggy as I took them home to my daughter. She didn't care for them. The char sui fried rice was okay. Tasted a little over cooked. The shrimp was crispy and good. The ginger chicken was good but not cold enough. The sour meat and cabbage was okay. Food was mediocre and didn't impress me. The oolong hot tea was actually good. The lady was nice about refilling our waters. Service was there but I wasn't impressed with the food.

Is always been my go-to place for Chinese food, especially crispy gau gee.My nephew came in from LA with his wife and new navy, so our family got together at my daughter's place to have a pot luck lunch. My contribution was 2 ordered each of gau gee and their house special seafood cake noodles. Apparently, cake noodle is hard to find (almost impossible) in LA, so I wanted it to be a treat for them, and it was. I also bought a bag of shrimp chips to go with the noodles, and they were really light and crispy, as they should be. Our feast also included tossed salad, baked salmon, cioppino, ribs, rice, apple pie and coco puffs for dessert. The food was great and pretty much everything was gone. A great place for Chinese food.

Great service and large tables to fit big parties. They do a special order stuffed duck that's amazing! Food came quickly even though we had two full tables. Owners are super kind and staff is always checking on any needs and refilling tea/water.

Not the cleanest of places but the food is pretty good. Just make sure to use your napkin to wipe your plate and silverware before use and you should be good enough. Pricing is good. Most items are about $15/plate. Food takes a bit especially if theres other larger tables all ordering at the same time. Food comes out however, our salad came out after the 3rd or so dish and not first. Super casual typical chinese restaurant thats not very crowded during weekday lunch so thats also a plus because then its quieter too.

My great-grandmother lived just down the street and this was her favorite Chinese restaurant. My family hosted a luncheon here for her friends and loved ones after her funeral service and everyone learned why she loved this place so much. Although it's a small, old-school establishment, everything that came from the kitchen was full of flavor. The catering was family style and included 9 courses. Every dish was beautiful and delicious. The cold ginger chicken was one of my favorites as well as the shrimp cake noodles. The roast duck and bao buns were popular among other guests and so were the salt and pepper pork ribs. I highly recommend any of the dishes attached to this review. It truly was a meal to remember.

Stopped by for Lunch after Dr's appointment . Recommended by cousin who brought huge , tasty crispy gau gee From this Chinese eatery. Ordered the above with cake noodle & vegetables, So enjoyed the whole plate. Came with 4 full pork gau gee!Wifey ordered the Beef Chow fun , so good !I noticed on the receipt they add a tip, to the final total,so did'nt leave a larger tip, hurts their server, as service was good!Big & roomy dining area. Looking forward totrying other dishes, even if we live in Kaneohe& love Kin Wah Chinese restaurant! This place is has good food!

This is usually a last resort for us but we were pleasantly surprised. They must have a new cook because our food was way better than in the past. The wo wonton menu was delicious and their dinner plate was tasty as well.

Foods pretty good. Parking isn't the greatest, but there's always parking because most of their business is take-out. Worth it to at least try it once to see if it's right for you.

We ordered for a family dinner. All the food was great, except for the lemon/garlic chicken. It was very tough, chewy, not at all the chicken I was hoping for & expecting. The noodles, beef broccoli, chow fun and other dishes were excellent.
