There aren't many Indian places to choose from in Hawaii, this is one of my favorites. Their original location in downtown is impossible to get to so this location in Kapahulu is great.Food is good, portions are average. I like the saag paneer, tikka masala, butter chicken. Parking is next door in a few stalls only or street parking. Call in your order ahead of time for takeout,

Came here on a POURING day. I was craving something warm and filling, and since I had pho the other day so it felt that indian curry was next on the list for me.I've gone to their location downtown before and been wanting to come here ever since they newly opened. The establishment is nicely decorated, has a bathroom and even a sink outside the bathroom to wash your hands before/after eating. The server was friendly and accommodating, and helped us to our table and during the ordering process as well.We ordered:- Lamb Biriyani: My partner enjoyed this a lot, scoffed this down without a break and he was stuffed after. I tried it and it was very flavorful, it came with a white yogurt sauce as well.- Lamb Kabob: My brother ordered this, the lamb was very tender and flavorful. The sauce that came on the side with it was like a tomatoey sauce, they paired pretty well.- Shrimp Korma: My to go order at all indian restaurants. Super comforting and delicious. I got the level 3 spice (out of 5) and I felt that a 4 would've been better for me. Noted for next time! And trust me, there will be a next time.- Mango Lassi: Wow, this was AMAZING. I don't even know what they put in this but it was so good, best one i've ever had compared to other places. We ordered another one. ALTHOUGH i kept getting weird pieces of stuff within? They said it was mango but i genuinely don't think it is? Maybe it's hardened yogur... i just hope it's not plastic or anything haha.- Garlic Cheese Naan: Amazing pairing with anything you order, or even to eat on its own. Sometimes i just wished that the garlic and cheese was more evenly distributed within the naan.Would definitely come back, although the pieces within the lassi still remains mystery to me.

The spice in Kapahulu...Love this location as it's one of very few that offers free private parking which is quite difficult in Kapahulu though the search is always worth the effort as what you'll find here are some yummy flavorful dishes.Walking in I was quite impressed with the amount of seating they have here though I do remember pretty far back in the day of what it used to be and am so delighted to see that the building still remains the same and is thriving with New Kamana Kitchen and what it offers. The staff here is just a delight as I took mom out for dinner and decided on this place as I know how much she loves naan bread and know that grazing here would be just perfect and we ordered Butter Chicken and nice that we're able to adjust the spice level which had to be mild was just perfect as it arrived practically spilling over the side was a generous lovely goodness and we were just so excited. All dishes come with rice which always paired up perfect as mom ate it with her butter naan bread and I ate mine with rice making it the perfect pairing with this pair and thank goodness we stuck with this simple meal as it was enough to put us into instant food coma and packed it for lunch tomorrow...woohoo!Thank you!

Lucky enough to snag one of several parking spots for early lunch this morning! All of the staff was very friendly and efficient...immediately felt like lunch was going to be awesome. And it was! Ordered veg samosas (sorry, no photo), chicken saag, tandoori shrimp and garlic cheese naan. Food came out quickly and everything was delicious and at the appropriate spice level. The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated and we will definitely be back soon!

New Kamana Kitchen is an Indian restaurant in Oahu. The restaurant takes reservations and has a small parking lot in the complex. It's a good place for large groups looking for a casual indian lunch or dinner while in Hawaii. There's a lot of indoor seating, and it's pretty clean inside. The portions are good for sharing, and the food is relatively flavorful. The waiter was really personable, but forgot a dish we ordered so we had to follow up on it a few times. However, the wait time was reasonable for the prices.

A non descriptive restaurant on the corner of Kapahulu and Palani. Best to park on Date street...only street parking available. The food was good with rich sauces. Had 3 dishes, palek paneer, coconut fish curry and lamb tikki marsala. As well as garlic naan. I have to say this would best be a take out spot...the restaurant is clean but ac didn't seem to work so it was a bit warm and there's not much ambiance. Just plain booth seats. Also a funny thing with paying the bill with a credit card... when handed the device for the bill, the first thing was the tips screen and no summary of the bill, not even the total bill amount. Only once the device processed the charges and a print out was presented did i get a chance to review the bill. I just thought this was a bit odd.

5 STARS!!! That's the unanimous verdict from my family after our first visit to New Kamana Kitchen.Tho there were plenty of highlights during our trip today, the true standout was the incredible hospitality and welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, every staff member seemed genuinely eager to make our experience enjoyable. The service was seamless - dishes were presented with care by the kitchen staff, and every interaction was marked by friendly smiles. It was such a refreshing way to kick off a Sunday morning, especially for first-timers like us!Pulling up to this charming "hole-in-the-wall," we were pleasantly surprised to find dedicated parking stalls - a rare luxury in small town spots like this. Tho it might be a little hard to spot at night (tucked in front of a small apartment building), the convenience of parking was much appreciated. Now, onto the food - DELICIOUS doesn't even begin to cover it. While I would've loved to see more photos of each dish on Yelp (come on, fellow foodies!), the flavors spoke for themselves. Being our first time, we kept it simple and went with some classics.Spice levels are as follows:1) Mild2) Mild-plus3) Medium4) Medium-plus5) Spicy Here's a quick breakdown of what we got - Mango Lassi: Absolute heaven. Thick, creamy, and semi-sweet with the perfect mango-yogurt balance. It's a generous portion, so consider sharing if you're ordering multiple dishes.Samosa Chat (Mild): A flavor bomb! Crispy samosas topped with chickpeas, chutney, and tangy sauces. Even the mild version had a bit of heat, but it was a hit at our table. Next time, I'd pair this with naan or other dishes to enhance the already bold flavors.Butter Chicken (Mild): Rich, sweet, and full of flavor. The chicken was perfectly tender, and this dish is a solid choice for kids or anyone looking for comfort food without the spice.Chicken Tikka Masala (Medium): Another classic, but note that their medium spice level is quite mild. If you enjoy a kick, go for medium-plus or spicy. Super yummy, tho it's not a whole lot different from the Butter Chicken, per my taste buds haha! That said, it was still a flavorful crowd-pleaser!Palak Paneer (Mild-Plus): A revelation! The spinach was creamy and well-seasoned, while the paneer added a lovely texture, somewhat reminiscent of fried tofu. It was my first time trying this dish, and I'm already planning to order it again. Garlic Cheese Naan: The MVP of the meal. Soft, garlicky, cheesy perfection! What's not to like about garlic, cheese, and soft-toasty bread?Bread Basket: Includes Roti, Butter Naan, and Garlic Naan. While good, we all agreed to skip the bread basket next time in favor of more Garlic Cheese Naan - because once you taste that, it's hard to go back! The food was a solid 10/10, but what really elevated our experience was the service. Bipin, our server, was nothing short of outstanding. Even as the restaurant reached near capacity by noon, he remained calm, efficient, and incredibly attentive. He kept us updated, checked in frequently, and managed the floor like a pro. It was clear the entire team genuinely cares about their guests - multiple staff members stopped by to ensure we were happy with our meal, and kept our water glasses refilled like clockwork.Bottom line: New Kamana Kitchen isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. Between the phenomenal food and the warm, attentive service, they've set a new standard for dining in this area. We're already looking forward to our next visit! Huge thanks to Bipin and the rest of the team -- I can already tell you've gained a very loyal following! :D
