Found a substitute cream cracker. Made in Malaysia as well so the flavor should be similar? $1.59 per packet (May 2021)
Bird's Nest Beverage. $5. Idk what the hype reason for this drink to cost $5 a bottle. To each his own.

New Hong Kong Market in Chinatown is my go-to place for frozen buns (bao). The last row against the wall, has all the freezers and they are stocked with different brands of frozen buns, shrimp dumplings, soup dumpling (xiao long bao) and glutinous rice balls (tong yuan). They have the cleanest freezers because they don't post their price tags all over the glass. They have the salted egg yolk custard buns here and they're $6 for 12 pieces. All the frozen buns in the baby blue colored package are good. The buns are moist and soft when you steam them at home.If you're looking for Asian sauces, dried noodles, Asian canned goods, or authentic snacks, you will also find those here. The aisles are tight, and each shelf is filled with merchandise. If you can't find something, ask the person sitting at the register and they will let you know if they have it and which aisle. The owners speak Mandarin and a little bit of English but if you show them a photo of the product on your phone, they'll be able to help you out.Whenever I shop in Chinatown, I park in the Marin Tower parking. The parking structure is well lit, and they have reasonable rates. It's only a few minutes walk to New Hong Kong Market.

Downsized from their previous location on maunakea and hotel street. Now it's located in king street, across the Oahu market. For all your Asian (Food) product needs. From produce to packaged snacks. My usual items are... Chinese pecan flavored sunflower seeds (Light blue bag), spicy peanuts (White bag), winter melon drink, chrysanthemum drink, mungo bean dessert in a can and other desserts in a can. Municipal parking is on maunakea, near Cindy's lei shop, towards the end of the street. If you reached king street (Perpendicular), you've gone to far. You could always find street parking, in two or three blocks. Open daily, even holidays. Check with store for major holidays.

Back in June 2017, when the iconic Wo Fat building at the corner of Maunakea and Hotel Streets was bought by some investors, all of its tenants moved out to make way for the investors' new plans of creating a hotel and restaurant. One such vendor was the NEW HONG KONG SUPERMARKET which relocated into the C.Q. Yee Hop complex. This supermarket re-opened its doors late last year (November 2018) and we're sure glad it did! Most of its inventory has been reorganized in their new space and to me, it's more convenient as the fish market (Troy Enterprise) that I usually go to is located here. Granted, this space is considerably smaller than its original location in the Wo Fat Building but I can still find many of the canned or preserved foods that I use in my pantry. We'll be back especially when looking for our favorite hot chili sauce/oil, salted black beans, dried shrimp noodles or canned grass jelly.TIP: Not all of their workers speak fluent English but you can still get your questions answered in Chinglish.

Hong Kong Market is BACK and better than ever. Ya'll ever heard of konmari? That's when you get rid of junk and keep only what brings you joy. I think the owner was inspired because the new location is seriously so much better than the previous location. The store is smaller, but more compact and it's easier to find items. I will admit, at first I wasn't used to the small aisle, but when I realized it took me only 7 minutes to shop, I realized how much more efficient the layout is. My must buys from here include the frozen custard baos in freezers, roti pratas, skyflakes crackers, wan wan milk drinks and the Asian noodles. If you're tired of your typical markets, or you want to try something new for the new year then give Hong Kong Market a visit!

Hoorah for the new location of the New Hong Kong Supermarket (NHKS).Effective 11/23/2018 Friday, NHKS has relocated to the CQ Yee Hop Building on N King Street, near the corner of Kekaulike Street.I am happy to report the new location much more impressive than the prior location on Maunakea Street. It's much cleaner and bright. For that reason I found the new location more appealing as the products seem more organized and therefore, easier to shop at.Because it's in an enclosed space, you benefit from the AC, where previously they didn't have. The owners/staff primarily speak Mandarin with limited English. Plastic accepted here.Looking for Chinese groceries and ingredients? Head over to the NHKS for a more pleasant Chinatown shopping experience.

It is located on N King St. Across street is Oahu Market and grocery store at Kekaulike Mall. Parking at Kekaulike or Marin lots.I agree with Yelp reviewer Connie that the aisles are hard to get used to small aisles. They had a big selection of merchandise as compared to other grocery stores.Previous location was way bigger with possibly more merchandise. I definitely need to come back again.A male employee who could be son of owner rang my purchase didn't say anything to me at all and didn't smile. He should say something to customers like, come again.

Called to see if they have any stock of the crackers that I can't find anywhere else coz I don't want to go to Chinatown to browse for crackers. I understand that they don't speak English very well, but wow the phone experience was terrible. First they didn't know what I'm referring to (even though I named it and spelled it), then they said they don't carry this crackers, then they said they don't have stock. Seriously. If not for the fact i haven't found another local store that stocks my favorite Hup Seng Cream Crackers, I wouldn't even bother.

I never really liked shopping at Hong Kong Supermarket ever since it first opened, replacing Hing Mau, which was much better. It felt dirty, unorganized, and messy. The fruits and vegetables always looked terrible, the freezers and coolers looked broken down and no where near at the right temperature, and the customer service is straight up awful. The older lady and man says nothing besides the cost, and on a few occasions, I received foreign coins for change. The look they gave me was like I'm tricking them because I'm a dark magician and switched the coins in less than a second just to cheat you out of a few cents.Anyway, that was the OLD Hong Kong Supermarket, and now it's the NEW Hong Kong Supermarket. It's now located at the corner of King and Kekaulike St in the "glass house (what Cantonese peeps call that building)," across Oahu Market and 555 Market. The same older lady and man work there. The difference now is the store is A LOT smaller than the previous spot. All its products and merchandise are packed in and high in just a few aisles. I've had to help elderly, Chinese ladies grab some things on the higher shelves several times. However, they have new freezers with clear doors that actually keep the cold air in, and all the frozen items are nicely displayed, and....frozen. There are vegetables and produce sold outside, but they still don't look as fresh and good as other stores. One of things that make New Hong Kong Supermarket unique is the large variety of dried noodles and sauces. You won't find a store that carries that many. The only problem is their noodles and sauces are usually months expired, or will expire in just a few weeks. They're even worse than 555! So please, please, please check the expiration date.Overall, the amount and variety of items in this store plus the price is hard to beat. This store has items that other stores don't carry. I've been here several times when I need some dried goods, but more often that not, the items I want are usually expired, or close to being expired. I know it's supposed to be OK to eat even after the expiration date, but I don't want to take that chance. I'll spend an extra 10-20 cents for longer expiration.
