Having watched so many Musicals or Concerts at the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall, this was my first time in years! I also drive by many times as this is close to home. I've seen Broadway Musicals such as Lion King, The Book of Mormon, Miss Saigon and many more. Concerts performed by Jack Johnson, and a few more too.But this time, I attended The Ikaika Classic & Armed Forces Bodybuilding Competition. It was the final show which didn't include the judging portion from earlier that morning. Last year's event was at The Historic Hawaii Theatre.I am fortunate enough to receive comp tickets in advance, but others could purchase tickets via Ticketmaster.com or at the Box Office before showtime.Blaisdell Concert Hall is huge! One of the largest theatres in Honolulu compared to the small cozy venue's like Diamond Head Theater or Manoa Valley Theater. Seat options can be found all across the Orchestra floor, and Mezzanine which I personally don't prefer because the view isn't ideal when wanting to see details on stage. Not too bad if it was more of an audio performance.Restroom and concession stand are found downstairs. Parking Garage is free on Sundays, but all other nights there is a small parking fee, as well as metered street parking along Ward Ave and S. King Street.

Venue'dI had my most recent visit to NBC Concert Hall this past week. My friend won 2 tickets in the affordable ticket lottery for the traveling production of Hamilton!NOTES:1. Parking on site for $8 (pay in advance) or street. Thankfully, since it was a weekday, we easily found street parking.2. Security check in place. Security will search your bags and scan guests with a metal detector device.3. Merchandise for the production was for sale (jackets, shirts, etc.)4. Mens restroom to the left, and womens on the right.5. If you're unsure of where your seats are located, staff are happy to assist you.Although the seat location(s) were decent (right behind the orchestra), the physical seat was slightly uncomfortable. And the rows are too close together, making it difficult for people to move about comfortably.Aside from Hamilton, I have attended graduations at other productions of other traveling shows (Wicked, Cats, The Lion King) at the concert hall. It serves its purpose and the community well as a temporary home and venue for these productions and various events.BOTTOM LINE:NBC Concert Hall is the tried and true venue in heart of Honolulu.

01/08/23 on SHOW- HAMILTON. The last thing I saw here was the Honolulu Symphony - dedication to Pink Floyd "The Dark side of the Moon" with Laser accompaniment. I did Love it... now on to the Wonderful "Hamilton"Let me first mention - yes do some reading on this cause if you are NOT ( and I mean this lightly) NOT ENTIRELY into Hip Hop and or Rap Music--- and you sit where I was- Balcony- row "O" near the door - odd number seat 55.... The words wouldn't make any sense.... It made Perfect sense cause I binged the whole album the day I bought my ticket.... Please don't go to this Musical hoping to "catch" on to what is said.... It's a good thing I listened to the album before attended today... Granted the concert hall is older the paper towel dispenser in the women's restrooms (both sides) has the manual pull trigger to get it out.... Other then these facts of not hearing everything and still getting the scenes when it occurred- is a wonderful Musical in Hawaii at this time.... Please support the arts and see this Broadway Musical--- it will make you have heart for a politician that's noted to be rather off amongst his Peers and he didn't treat his wife "exactly" well as I heard from the tour guide in Boston when I was there in 2010 for a field trip and saw the famous grave site.... He was not exactly as Humble as he's portrayed in the musical. I will say that the actor Deaundre Woods is phenomenal! He is a fear of High power for the Hamilton Character he plays... and I can see him doing so much more in the future.... Thank you for reading this review.... And remember... if you plan to see "HAMILTON" read some before going especially if your seats are in the Balcony section.

Symphony, Ballet, and Theater in Honolulu, Hawaii...When I was in elementary school, I remember coming to the Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall on a field trip. I was fascinated by the musical instruments. We learned the difference between the strings, woodwinds, keyboards, percussion, and brass sections.Later in life, I had the opportunity to sing with the University of Hawaii Choir at the NBC (Neal Blaisdell Center) Concert Hall. We were just backup singers for The Nutcracker, but it was still a thrilling honor!Recently, I was able to attend various ballet and symphony events via Yelp Hawaii. I would sign up for free tickets - sometimes the tickets were for dress rehearsals for plays - and I'd bring my mom as my guest. She enjoyed everything, too! This season, The Concert Hall is featuring the Broadway Shows: "Beautiful", "The Jersey Boys", "Hamilton", and Cats".My friend gave me two tickets to "Beautiful...The Carole King Musical". I was elated! I knew a few of Carole King's songs off the top of my head, but I didn't know that she had started out as a teenaged songwriter and had many more popular songs! It was a wonderful production with clever props, appropriate costumes, and fantastic singing!PARKING: there is a paid lot and metered street parking. I usually park on King Street, across from Straub Clinic, after 6:30pm when metered street parking is free.ENVIRONMENT: There is a balcony section above and the orchestra seats on the ground level. The building was opened in 1964, so, elevators weren't mandatory at the time. The women's restroom is on the right of the entrance, down a few stairs. Seats are cushioned and covered with fabric. Air conditioning is much appreciated. The NBC Concert Hall is like a landmark. I'm looking forward to my next visit here! Every seat has a good view!

Came to see Hamilton! What a fabulous production! Lots of parking available in the parking garage. High security at the event so everyone was waved down with a metal detector and bags were checked. The line through security and to get into the concert hall moved along efficiently. The staff was kind and helpful with so much Aloha spirit!

I haven't been here in a while, I think the last time was for The Lion King or Wicked and that was ages ago! So it was nice to revisit this place years later for Hamilton and it did not disappoint. The venue is kind of small if you're comparing it to a huge New York Broadway or Las Vegas show but I thought it was a very nice space that fit the show nicely and amplified the sound. The musical was phenomenal and I really enjoyed myself--I had front row tickets and it was an experience I will always remember. The security provided a safe environment, they checked bags at the entrances, the bathroom break during the intermission ran smoothly, the ushers ensured everyone was in and out. I was very happy with my visit and hope to be back for another show! The only thing that sucked was the valet parking, tons of people used it so there was a long line after the show--people just waiting for their car to be brought around. The attendants hustled and ran to each vehicle, so they did their best to keep the line going but I must've stood in that line for more than 30-minutes..

I watched the musical Cats. The Broadway quality was just amazing. A work that fascinates children and adults alike. The reason for the long-seller is when I saw it on stage, I was convinced. It's also one of my favorite movies to watch. I would like to thank everyone involved in making this event possible in Hawaii.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Hawaii Symphony and their Christmas show. I've never been before and we were able to check in quickly. Despite the large amount of people waiting outside, when everyone was seated there was still ample space between each person/group. We even were able to sit anywhere we wanted and picked our seats dead center closer to the middle of the hall. I was so excited to see the hall open again and to watch a live show. This was the perfect way to return to the symphony. The show overall was about an hour long. It seemed to fly by so fast and I wish we could enjoy a longer show in the future.Tip: look for street parking if you can. It's free. Otherwise the parking is affordable at Blaisdell at $8.00 per car.

Because of the pandemic we haven't had a Broadway show come to Hawaii in a while. Thankfully it's back and we had to come see Hamilton! The staff at Blaisdell was very courteous & organized...especially during Intermission. We navigated through the Women's bathroom effortlessly (always a plus in my book!) When the announcement came through that we were able to bring our drinks in the house, we were elated! (Thankfully we didn't have to chug down our drinks)! We can't wait to go to another event here at the Concert Hall!
