Visiting Naval Air Museum Barbers Point in the Spring of 2013 was straightforward from my end. My Grandma Connie and Aunt Danette were coming to visit me (I was in my undergraduate studies at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa) and my grandmother went through the process of setting up an appointment so we could go through the museum. She knew some of the people (my grandfather served as a fighter pilot stationed in Japan during the Vietnam War - reconnaissance work) in the realm of the museum, so it was a good time for her to get to interact with friendly faces since my grandfather had passed away over 5 years earlier. The interior of the museum was straightforward to navigate and our guide was with us all the way through the museum. We got to see and learn about different military aircraft and our guide did an excellent job contextualizing each piece, battle, and event. After our walk through we went out and looked at some of the active aircraft also on the Kalaeloa Airport grounds. All three of us greatly enjoyed our experience.
