If you're not booking chef's counter -what are you doing?? It's like dinner and a show with seeing how the sausage gets made. Def recommend! The chef is the sweetest and the guy running the show really pays attention to his guests. I wanted to be polite during my pre fixe meal when I noticed something I ate towards the end of my meal wasn't sitting right with me. It's like I developed a new allergy I had no idea I had. So I just moved the food around in my preciously decorated plate and then asked my husband to finish it instead. The House Manager (?) noticed and asked if I didn't like my food. I just said that the eggplant didn't seem to agree with me and he immediately asked if they could do right by me and make me a whole new dish. What a delight! The chef immediately put together a vegan pasta dish for me and I devoured it. So so so good. I appreciated their attention to detail and care for their guests. Will want to be back to do a la carte menu.

Found this pretty cool spot hidden away from the craziness. It has a kind of speakeasy feel to it. NatuRe Waikiki is a place where the food is served in a complicated way. Everything is expensive. They have a few menus with these varying in prices. Best thing about it is the atmosphere. It's more of a chill place compared to many of the bars around here. This is located above ZIGU. Basically these complement each other. They're both classy and hipster if you can say that. It's about $18 for a cocktail. We only got a couple because of this. Best we had was the Bird Of Paradise. Strong. It's made with Fid St. gin, hibiscus, lemon, lilikoi, and Lillet Blanc. We were left without much money for the food. It's $9 for the House-Made Sourdough Bread. This comes with a choice of ogo butter or seaweed oil. If wanting to blow lots of money, you can get a price fixed dinner. This is like $60 at the cheapest and many options are a lot more. Chill looking place if wanting to get away from crowds. It's closed Mondays. They're expensive but have plenty of things for vegans and vegetarians.

If we didn't have to rate in full stars, I'd give this place a 3.75/5. The service was definitely 5/5 stars and our server Shelby was so awesome. But the food unfortunately dropped the ratings down a bit... The food: presentation was superb on every dish. we got the whole shabang to get the most out of our experience by adding the fresh oyster, caviar fritto & European truffle. The caviar fritto was the only part of the 1st course that we could stomach :( not a great start to a 6 course set menu... We also added the black truffle to our 6th course -- the beef & parsnip and we felt like the truffle kinda ruined the dish... so our start & end to the food experience was unenjoyable... The pointe de porc was our favorite on the menu followed by the kampachi & apple onion puree but everything else was very, "meh."The experience: it was cool and we definitely tried foods that we would never try if we got to pick it. We were in the back room that was very quiet and intimate. The lights were perfectly dimmed for a calming ambiance and the presentation of everything was beautiful. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the staff and they took great care of us! The place: we walked right past it since we were rushing through the streets of Waikiki to make our reservation. Be sure you walk slowly so you don't miss their sign to walk in. You'll have to walk alongside another restaurant on the 1st floor & up a flight of stairs to get to natuRe. If I were to go back, I'd just order from the bar menu. There were other foods we wanted to try but we opted for the tasting menu when we made the reservation. I'd also love to experience dining at the chefs counter. I think that would enhance one's dining experience so much more!

They are located on the second floor. Take the stairs up above El Cielo. Be sure to make reservations as this place can be pretty busy. You won't be disappointed in any of their menus.

The ethos at natuRE revolves around a deep respect for nature and the bounty of Hawaii, Chef Nae Ogawa connects food and nature by capturing the delicious flavors and nutrients of fresh local ingredients. There are Hawaii-grown ingredients as integral parts of every dish.My best opportunity to try this "Sustainable Island French" cuisine was through a Restaurant Week prix fixe. natuRE offers 6 course menus that offer a choice of a conventional tasting or an entirely plant-base one.The amuse bouche duo that started my meal were a good indication of the meal to follow. The cuisine is French technique driven and preciously plated. A Maui Nui venison tartare in a tartlet had a house made ricotta, finely shaved macadamia nuts that resembled a hard cheese, and a tuile deer antler made with black pepper. A fabulous one-bite treat. The Ode To Poi was interesting because of the use of "fish and poi". A base of slightly fermented poi was topped with pieces of ahi. It was accented with fried local ogo, crouton crumbs of house-made sourdough bread, and topped with a rice chip sprinkled with Japanese ao nori powder. The bread service was a slice of their sourdough with a fresh ogo compound butter. The proteins that followed were wonderful. A Poitrine de Porc, order pork belly, was plated alongside gnocchi, and covered with a bright squash espuma. Some dehydrated proscuitto and fresh pea shoots on top and crowned by a circular allspice tuile completed the dish.Chef Ogawa's goal is for her menu to reflect her support of local farmers and purveyors while using sustainable products that help reduce the impact on our fragile environment. She will go out into nature for inspiration and immerse herself into understanding a cycle that goes beyond farm to table. Trying her food during Restaurant Week 2024 gave me a good insight into how food and nature are connected in Hawaii. I will definitely go back to experience natuRE's evolving menu.

Wonderful tasting menu with a focus on ingredients from the Hawaiian islands. Sat at the counter with a nice view of the kitchen action. While the chefs/cooks behind the counter are responsible for preparing the dishes, even they pay attention to the customers (example: one heard the scraping of utensils and came over to offer more bread to sop up the extra sauce on the plate). Food was delish and the wine pairings worked well.

My wife and I were celebrating a number of special events and received a gift card for natuRe waikiki. As veggies, it's tough to find upscale dining options in Hawai'i and we had heard great things, so off we went. We were doing a staycation at the Prince, so we took a rideshare. For those concerned with parking, could easily park at the International Marketplace. There's street parking too if you can find a stall. Upon arriving, we were immediately welcomed. The gentleman at the door was really great. He showed us to our seat at the chef's counter and the evening began. We decided to do the 'āina tasting menu. We enjoyed the majority of the six dishes with the exception of the beet poke. There was something about the consistency that did not work well for us, but everything else was well composed and well presented. I loved the story behind each dish and the commitment to place and sustainability. At $100 a person, we felt the price was reasonable.Bonus: it was my birthday, so we got a nice raspberry sorbet dessert. Normally, I'm not one for sorbet, but it was fantastic.

This place is so beautiful! It's such a gem in Waikiki. We came for restaurant week and got to try out the menu. We ordered both the vegan as well as the meat options to be able to try both. I would say they are both really good. The presentation of each dish is so amazing. You can really tell how much thought and care goes into every aspect by the explanations of the waiters. Each dish was so unique and I loved that we got to try it! I feel like we had a wonderful experience and a great time.

I was excited to try out natuRe waikiki, as they offer a 6-course tasting menu that has a vegan option (`Āina) as well.We requesting a seating at the chef's counter for the 6-course tasting menu, opting for the 'Hale'. The tasting included:+Venison & Chicken - in which we went for the adding of the fresh oyster and the caviar fritto+the Ode to Poi+Abalone & Risotto+Poitrine de Porc+Kampachi & Apple Onion Puree+Beef & Parsnip - with the addition of the European black trufflesI think we should have gone for the `Āina, as this seems to be the more preferable choice between the two.Staff were friendly, and the interior of the restaurant seems to give off a speakeasy type of a joint with the dim lighting the dark wood. I did like the the plants and the vines that draped the entrance area.Reservations are super easy to procure.+`Āina tasting may be better
