Napoleon's Bakery Kapahulu

Donut be jelly as it's National Donut Day!!There's a hole respect for this specially rounded food group as it's been revamped and evolved in many shapes and flavors around the globe! Though on this day I felt the need to visit my childhood place I enjoyed with Dad at this Napoleon's Bakery in Kapahulu which does have a special place in my heart.Never to disappoint the display is just slightly bare showing it had a fabulous day BUT it still had the necessities Donuts and several more highlighting the FALLbulous items I was excited to see. Grabbed four items the classic glazed donut, Pumpkin Coffee Cake, Pumpkin Bread Pudding and Cornbread...yeah!The staff there is incredible just a slight stare at the items I was instantly greeted and told of the items freshness and described in details, prices are reasonable all packed and boxed which no many places do these days I just truly appreciate the old school ways they still service us as it's the small things that do make it extra special!Thank you!

Heavenly puffs of fried sweetness.So delicious, light, airy, all the good adjectives for deliciousness you can think of.

Hands down the best Chantilly cake ever. You can never go wrong with that choice or if your a chocolate person highly recommend their Dobash cake. Both very delicious and one of a kind. Keep in mind these bakery's are usually located in a zippy's restaurant.

I know all tourists want to try the malasadas at Leonard's. We went there too, but the line was huge. So we decided not to wait and instead went to Napoleon's which is a couple of blocks down the road and wow......we were so pleasantly surprised. Their malasadas were just as good. We order 6 for the two us, but truly wish we would have ordered 12. Try it. Delicious.

Napoleon's Bakery has a decent assortment of treats, donuts, cakes and pies. No cookies, however. =( Prices seem moderate. The bakery shares space inside of a Zippy's diner and is open 24 hours a day.We tried a cocoa fudge brownie with walnuts and a Dutch apple crumb cake. The brownie was mildly sweet but a little dry. It wasn't a complete miss, since it's hard to totally screw up brownies, but it wasn't satisfying. The apple crumb cake was light and fluffy and had just the right amount of sweetness. I would get this one again.Napoleon's had a few interesting items like the "Reese's Chocolate Peanut Butter Chunk Ultimate Donut", a huge donut topped with Reese's crumbs. Other notables were a guava chiffon cake, haupia chocolate cake, and peach Bavarian cake. We didn't get to try any cakes, but they did look pretty appealing behind the counter.

Is it any wonder that you can't leave any Zippie's without stopping at the display of baked goods that is the Napoleon Bakery part of the house. Genius marketing. So it is that after we got our food order that we found ourselves looking at dessert pastries. One thing stood out for me and that is the bread pudding. Yes all the other sweet choices looked very appealing and actually the lovely missus chose one of those fruity turnovers. I stood my ground as I was thinking not dessert, but an early morning heavy duty filler up breakfast. Yes the bread pudding did just that. It was moist inside and the raisins gave it just enough of that sweetness to go one step further. The bread had a corner crust that gave it the right texture as you chew thru the heaviness of the pudding. Good choice and always order from Napolean Bakery.

The Apple Napple is wonderful! Flaky pastry goodness! Even better if you heat it in a toaster oven - yum, yum.Good eclairs with traditional custard, not whipped cream, for under $2!

Baby you saved so many carbs at the sushi bar you deserve some chocolate glazed donuts and the kids will love you for this and they can eat the donut holes in bed tonight. So Daddy can get some well deserved rest. Kisses honey sugar kisses for you tonight.

Napoleon's Bakery is inside Zippy's!Can I say I'm in heaven? I got the gigantic jumbo sized chocolate donut with macadamia nuts and caramel. I haven't found anything close in the states. I want to go back to Oahu just to bite into this heavenly treat! Yum!
