Such a great cafe to pick up quick bites for the beach, as a snack, or even for the plane! I've never been to this location before, but since we were just a few minute walk away, we walked by in the morning before taking off to the airport. Paid a little over $30 for 14 spam musubis. Personally enjoyed the egg & spam one as I ate it a few hours after purchasing and it was just as delicious. Decent selection of musubis + onigiri's along with a few small plates of food available as well.

The idea deserves 100 stars - a musubi cafe?!? Yes please! But the actual quality of the musubi was a bit disappointing. Namely, we went around 2pm and found the items to be on the dry side and lacking flavor. May give it another chance earlier in the day but I'd hope items are made fresh all day long.

Serendipity. At 9 am after an all nighter. After an interesting day of flying, waiting, flying, and waiting, we reached our hotel at 6 am. After checking in and doing some unpacking, I went to the nearby 24 hour stores to pick up some drinks, snacks, and water for our room. As I passed this store, I noticed that it was open with three people in line. Being famished, I bought several to share and eat before we headed out for an 11 am brunch.I started with the Spam, eel, and egg (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=192&select=xuNvACcdMmL3zXQQ56Elwg); this hit the spot being the first piece of food in my mouth in over 15 hours. The combination works, period . Next, I tried the spicy tuna and mayo (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=192&select=9UXO26s4LIb3Rlh9f529zA); I was slightly disappointed as the mayo overwhelmed the tuna and spice was only a backdrop. And the tuna is akin to tuna salad, not a sashimi/sushi version. I will pass on this next time . Later that day, I munched on the inari, hijiki mixed (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=192&select=BHI8TEfbz3M0F7GGDISfng), a great vegetarian option that didn't have me missing the protein. The next day, I had the spicy shrimp (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=192&select=XGVfNv9hzNy_cNNujIhkeQ) for a light breakfast. Again , this didn't wow me as shrimp tempura musubi is a more appropriate description since, again, the spice amount was muted. Later that day, I finished with the Spam, bacon, and eel (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=192&select=A02u5z0QPrsectFNvqkZQg). Very similar to my 2st musubi, this Spam and bacon were soothed by the omelette. What bumped up everything a notch was the Yuzu pepper sauce (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=192&select=ahuFkudiZdf-Fr59gNCUIg) - seen on the bottom right for $0.50. I poured drops on every piece that I ate, alternating bites with and without the sauce. Let's just say, if you enjoy spicy and tangy, definitely get this. The line went quickly as the customers ahead of me were decisive. As you see in the pictures, the ugly disadvantage to shopping at this time of day is the selection was limited. There was a van parked in front as a gentleman carried soft plastic boxes into the store, likely to restock the tables. I have not been to their main store a few blocks away so I can't give you a comparison. Being less than a block away from where we stay, this store is definitely a convenient option for me every time I visit. And yes, I will be back.

I love how spacious this location is, one of the newer ones. It always fun taking friends from outta town here to try the unagi or bacon ones. My favorite is usually the spicy shrimp tempura, even though its hit or miss if its gonna be a crunchy shrimp or not depending on probably when it was put out. Usually this one isn't too busy as its one of the newer spacious ones. Good for a cheap lunch in Waikiki.

Musubi Cafe Iyasume is a small shop specializing in affordable musubi (rice balls) wrapped in sea weed with a little bit of filling on the inside. The rice balls and rolls are laid out in trays, wrapped in plastic wrap, with pricing near each tray.Spicy Tuna mayo ($2.48) - The rice was soft, fluffy and freshly prepared. While there was hardly any filling on the inside, everything was fresh.Salmon ($2.68) - Similar to the tuna musubi in terms of quantity of filling, with a slight hint of salmon filling on the inside. Again everything was fresh.Overall pricing is reasonable, especially for Oahu. The filling is on the smaller side, but it makes for a great snack and/or light meal, especially on the go. While there is no seating inside, there are some nearby benches outside to eat.

Small quaint shop with an array of musubis and onigiris. I got a spam musubi and tuna onigiri and enjoyed them both hours later as snacks. Inexpensive and delicious. Great grab and go food when you're on the run. They seem to be made fresh also so I would prefer to get musubis here than at the retail stores nearby.

This place was right next our hotel, and it was so convenient to grab some yummy musubi. The prices were reasonable and our kids loved the rice ball musubi as a snack. Our favorite flavors were salmon and tuna, and avocado spam. They also have such a cute merch store with all musubi themed items. Can't wait to go back!

Need a snack? Musubi Cafe to the rescue! I was getting the afternoon slump from walking around Kalakaua for so long and needed a pick me up. Musubi Cafe is a cute little store (take out only, no dining in) offering up different kinds of musubi like spam, egg spam, bacon and egg spam, tempura and avocado spam etc. I tried the regular spam and tempura and avocado spam and they were both very good! It was still warm and hit the spot. Prices are reasonable too, everything was under $4. I loved all their musubi themed items like lunch bags, keyrings, shoe charm, furikake, t shirts and a host of other cute musubi related things. I wanted to bring everything home but alas, my luggage was bursting at the seams so I didn't get anything but a happy stomach from the musubi which is fine by me!

Simple meal yet so satisfying and at a reasonable price - I think cheapest meal you can find on Waikiki that is not fast food and of good quality. The pork and vegetable soup is tasty and it's not just soup but a mini meal on its own. The musubis were all tasty - shrimp tempura with egg and avocado, and then unagi, spam and egg. The salmon bowl is on the drier side but worked well with the soup.

By far the best musubis I've ever had! They had so many choices too. I would highly recommend any of the ones with eel. That eel sauce paired with the salty spam was perfection, absolutely a must try!
