Came with some friends after work on a Friday and stayed for hours. When you enter, there's both a bar side and a restaurant side that you can sit at; my friends and I sat on the restaurant side. We made a reservation beforehand to be safe but reservations are totally optional! The vibes are super casual here.Food was yummy! I ordered the fish and chips; they were both fried well and tasted good. My friends also ordered the shepherd's pie, corned beef with cabbage, and blackened chicken. Didn't get photos of these but we all were happy with our food! We ordered a slice of each of the pies on special to share for dessert. The pies were delicious and I would totally order all of them again, especially the key lime! What we were really here for was the Irish Coffee. Who knew that coffee, Irish whiskey, brown sugar, and fresh cream would produce such a great drink?? I've only had Irish Coffees in San Francisco but knowing that I now have a spot in Honolulu to go to is dangerous! Service was great! The servers here are very pleasant, the food came out promptly, and the drinks were refilled quickly; how could I complain? Location is great, it's on the corner of Nuuanu and Merchant. If you can't luck out with street parking, there's a municipal lot located right across the street.

Murphy's Bar & Grill has been giving their clientele a little taste of the Irish homeland, all wrapped up in great food, good company, and an extensive bar with 16 unique beers on tap. They are open daily, from the weekly business lunches to intimate dinners. My husband and I shared the ANAHEIM CHICKEN SANDWICH- Grilled chicken breast topped with grilled Anaheim Pepper and melted Jack cheese served on a ciabatta bun. Our next visit we will be trying the IRISH DIP- Thin sliced sirloin on baguette with horseradish mayonnaise, served with Guinness au jus.

Best chicken wings I ever had!!! Ask for extra ranch sauce lol. The sheappards pie was featured on the tv show, "diners drive ins and dives". The lamb chops tasted like it was from a five star steakhouse that serves $50 dishes. The caesar salad was a solid appetizer that was fresh and pretty much get what you ask for. And the salmon was meh but Murphy's is more of a meat place anyways lol. Definitely recommend their food!!! This place is a must try if you havent been hereThe biggest pleasant surprise though were their desserts. I'm usually the type not to order dessert when I go to restaurants, but man, their desserts are insanely good, with big portions at a reasonable cost. I recommend any sort of pie and their bread pudding (both ala mode of course!)5 stars!!! (I would give it 10 stars if I could)Parking is a bit tricky though as youd have to find street parking. There's also different buildings and lots u can park in that's walking distance but I'm not too familiar with those. It's definitely worth it for the food though.

Friendly atmosphere, Delicious food [Honolulu HI]OMG! I just had the best pork chops here at Murphy's. My co-workers in our Honolulu office took me here for lunch (less than 5-min walk from our building in Downtown Honolulu). Reservations recommended. We placed our orders for the following:Open Face Turkey SandwichFish N' ChipsGarlic Crusted Pork ChopApple Pie Blueberry Pie Funny because my co-workers placed orders for the pies first. They told me it's because they run out especially on Fridays where they have more flavor selection. The Garlic Crusted Pork Chop had a combination of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors... seasoned just perfectly for my taste. Soft, juicy, pan-seared pork chop smothered with their seasoning herbs... and garlic. It was love at first bite. The apple pie was yummy too like our apple pies in Apple Hill. The pies were served warm and complemented with vanilla ice cream.I'm so glad we had lunch there on a Friday because they are normally closed on Saturdays and Sundays. I love the vintage ambiance. Customer Service was great! Review #3580

Review/update. It just can't be said enough in my opinion, Murphy's bar and grill is like going home for lunch or dinner. The food is absolutely amazing, the family feel and welcoming staff are exceptional, and the mixologists know exactly what they are doing. Whether it's corned beef and cabbage, a burger, or the specials, the food is always delicious, well prepared, and presented in an amazingly timely manner. If you have never been, you're missing out on the eighth wonder of the world, if you have been, you know what I'm saying. Don't forget, Fridays are pie day, fresh home baked pies and slices to die for. First come, first serve, so you better beat me there.

A few days after my birthday, it was kind of sudden to perhaps have my family come with me to Murphy's. Another place that was once featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri? Sign me up...because this is the 3rd place I checked into that was on Triple D, alongside with The Alley in Aiea and Hank's Haute Dogs in SALT at our Ka'kaako. There was a comforting vibe about the area that I really liked. It felt like the kind of place that would be a casual 'enjoy the ambiance' type of feel to it.The food was great there. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie, one of the dishes that Triple D highlighted. It took the first few bites to maybe perhaps get an idea of how tasty it was. It delivered on all facets. I could see myself in an Irish pub, ordering this on a cold day. There was just something comforting about it that I enjoyed. I can tell it looked very homey, very straightforward, but well done in a traditional sense. To finish my meal there, I ordered the Apple Crisp a la Mode.Super delicious and a very fitting end to my meal. Thanks a lot, Murphy's. You made me a happy customer there.Would I recommend this place? If you have a knack in craving some tasty Irish pub food, go for it.On my next visit, I should think about coming back there to try the Irish Dip.

Not as great as I was hoping for. Steaks had a strange freezer taste, like they were on the verge of spoiling then frozen. I had strip and husband had ribeye. Both were weird. They only had frozen steamed veggies medley which we declined and they didn't offer an alternative. White wine selection was minimal.Alternatively, the ambiance was what you'd expect from an Irish bar, plus they had festive Christmas decor. The service was about average, perhaps she of average. Overall experience was meh. I don't ever need to go in there again, unless it's a purely bar/Nôtre Dame game thing. Can't go wrong with a Guinness.

I recently stopped by Murphy's Bar & Grill for a work lunch since it was near by and very convenient. I was craving a burger so I decided to order their Irish burger ($18). It didn't take too long for the burger to come out which and once on the table, the blue cheese really stood out. I ordered the beef patty medium well and it was cooked just right, topped with a flavorful blue cheese that added a great bite. The cheese also tasted authentic. The fresh toppings like crisp lettuce, tomato, and onion really brought the whole burger together. It also came with perfectly crispy fries on the side. The casual, friendly atmosphere made it an ideal spot for a relaxed midday meal. Service was quick and the staff were welcoming. If you're in the area and looking for a solid place to grab lunch, Murphy's is definitely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Lively yet relaxing atmosphere, has the old and homey vibe I love, but maybe a little dusty due to its age?? I'm sure no one else notices but me and my sensitive nose! Anyway I love and will continue to return to Murphy's most especially for their Irish Dip, my favorite! Their fries are pretty hot and crispy as well, so no complaints there. I wish I could go here more often so I could try more of the menu (maybe I've tried one or two other things over the years..) but I keep returning to my favorite. :( Haha. I haven't gone after work hours but I would love to once I'm able! The vibes most definitely get more lively but no doubt it's crowded. It's my go-to sit down lunch spot downtown so I'll keep coming back for that for now :)

Haven't been to Honolulu since the late 2010s. My favorite restaurant then was Murphy. Glad to see it's still doing great I love the New York steak and mashed potatoes. Would love to go back but cannot stand to fly anymore. Thanks Murphys!
