Weird, no one answers the phones! Since Bob passed, it's a bit iffy. Not sure what the new owners are doing or handling the business... ?

Wowza good service.My first trip to Sandman & definitely not my last. The Office Manager was extremely knowledgeable, knew her inventory & offered several suggestions after I explained I was trying to MacGiver a solution for creating texture on a deck rather than enjoying a freestyle skating spree with even the slightest bit of moisture.Unfortunately with the wonkyness of COVID supply chain, I ended up with my 3rd choice which netted 100% satisfaction.Impressive . . .amount of equipment in stock.Incredible . . .selection.Inconceivable. . .fast service from recommendation, to payment, to Felipe a felt loading your purchase.

Leading up to the hurricane of the century, sometimes you drag your feet thinking "it won't happen to me." Then the day comes when you just don't want to take a chance and go on a wild goose chase for a precious resource - sand. Illegal to take from the beach, the only option is buy it. Referred here by other building supply companies, Mr. Sandman offers all kinds of sand, sand blasting, equipment, and building supplies. Located in the commercial/industrial area mauka of the airport, it was easy to find and get to just off Nimitz Highway. Immediately the people working there were in high gear and ready to help.I had the pleasure of dealing with Pattie, who was just as friendly on the phone as in person. Sand was charged at the normal prices and was reasonable. They had all sorts of emergency gear laid out in the office including plastic sandbags, and plastic tarps. It was simple to set up an account, pay, and get going. Felipe loaded the car quickly and with a smile. I would come back here again if the need should arise!

We run a small, custom cabinet shop. We were in the market for a new, bigger and better air compressor and stopped in to see what they had. We received a quote ( 18k) and discussed it and researched it and decided to lease it. Our old compressor ran all of our air tools and sanders, it was noisy, but it always worked. We were told that the new compressor would not run out of air, would cost us less to operate and would be easy to operate. Skip forward...the delivery and install were terrible, they didn't give us the correct tank configuration and had to return several times. We never got a manual at all or any maintenance schedule, so when it went down the first time we had to be down ( and send the guys home) for two days. We spent hours on the phone with codes and buttons- ridiculous. Then we had to do routine maintenance - filters, oil- pretty basic except that the cost was over a thousand dollars. So, expensive...terrible service....and then we had some testing done and find out that we could save money using a different compressor altogether. If you need sand- maybe you should shop here, but other than that, look elsewhere.

Everything you wanted to know about media blasting but were afraid to ask. I am the owner of Oahu Powder Coating and I don't know what we would do without Mr. Sandman Inc. Media-blasting is the foundation of a consistent and high quality coating and we aren't about to trust anyone else on this island or in the country on the subject. Owner Bob Freeman and Patty his assistant as well as his entire staff has been a highly valued resource to my company. When I first visited Mr. Sandman Inc. I knew only what my faulty assumptions allowed me to know. Since then we had nothing but great results. I am not about to ruin a good thing. I look forward to continue to do business with Mr. Sandman Inc. in the years to come.

Great selection reasonable prices. Old school industrial business. Ms. Patty is very helpful and knowledgeable. She was helpful and helped me save money and buy the right blasting media instead of letting me get the wrong stuff for a higher sale. She was great even though I'm just a hobby guy looking for a small sale and free info.

Don't know what changed with these people. I have been buying from them for years. All of a sudden they act like they don't want to sell to us.We only buy twice a year. I called to see if they had the produce in stock. "Lady" acted all nice. Said she showed she had one of the items I needed. Said she would check and call me back. When she called back, the tone changed. Very abrupt, unfriendly tone. Felt like she had something against me. "We don't have it. We no longer carry it" Then she just hung up. This was blasting media. How can they "no longer" carry it. Like I stated, I had been buying the same thing for years without a problem, or a piss poor attitude. To bad. They were always very helpful and nice before.

Always helpful for my media needs. I always go to them to get my glass bead, aluminum oxide, abd garnet media's for my blast cabinet.

Sand for an aquarium....guessing that's all these guys do is sell the sand? I have taken items to this establishment on three different occasions, for three years, to have cleaned. Each time, i got a different employee giving nothing but excuses as to why they could not sandblast my items. I had no clue you couldn't sandblast cast iron or solid steel, did you? I have never seen a specialized business so interested in not doing any business. Total waste of time if you are an individual who has items such as boat parts, machine parts or auto parts that could be, and traditionally have been, cleaned by sandblasting or blast media. Sorry, but Mr. Sandman has been nothing but asleep.

Don't trust these folks! Paid quite a lot of money to fix a piece of equipment after 2 months in the shop returned it and it worried fit like 5 months and they refused to try and fix it again!!
