Mr Donuts and Bakery

I love some Mr. Donuts the only donuts I eat on the island are here and Purvee, not to say I haven't tried others but these set the bar. Mr. Donuts is your more classic donut shop, but that doesn't take away from what they offer which is goodness in each bite, my favorites are the oreo white frosting one, the claw and the fritter, but nearly all of them have great taste. You can follow them on Instagram and order through messaging, pay with PayPal or Venmo and let him know when you will be there (park on the street, he will tell you where) and they come and bring them to you. Excellent service, price ($20 for a dozen), and taste there's a reason why I come from Kaneohe to grab my Donuts .

Despite of the infrequency of hanging around my hood, I still notice the changes in Chinatown. A recent surprise is the newest location of Mr. Donuts and Bakery (DB).Some of you may already know the popular DB that is near the corner of Bishop St and N Hotel St where you smell the fresh baked donuts that permeates the air that sucks you into their store. Well, the newest location is inside the Maunakea Marketplace Food Court on the makai side with next door neighbors of Papa's Café and Mei Mei Chinese BBQ.I actually saw them open a few weeks ago, but I was in a rush where I didn't have the time to patronize nor create a business page for them. As I had spare time this morning running my usual Sunday shopping errands, I stopped by DB to take a better look. On a rainy day sadly there wasn't much foot traffic so I walked up with no customers. The female staff was very friendly and enticed me of their "weekend special", but she offered me a "today only special". And guess what? I was sold.I bought a dozen of assorted donuts and she carefully placed them in a flat box for a great presentation. And she packed my donuts, I noticed they also sell coffee and drinks. They have a sign that's posted above with the daily specials with the exception of Friday's. I've brought donuts to work a few times and my coworkers gobbled them TF up. Mr Donut is my favorite shop on island. Their Apple fritters are soooo good. The only other place that gives them completion would be Donut King.

Still by far the best donuts in Hawaii.I needed 10 dozen on a Sunday for an event and I was delighted to find out that their Maunakea Market shop was open on Sunday. I thought I was going to have to grab them the day before and serve day old donuts. Lucky for me I put in my order over the phone and picked them up with no issue.William and his team are always friendly at any of their locations. I wish them the best at this new spot. I only hope they can bring their shop to the Leeward side.

Yes, I am a fan of fresh Krispy Kreme donuts that roll off the conveyor crispy outside and delightfully moist n soft on the inside. Hard to beat perfection. Anyway my BFF brought over a box of donuts from Mr. Donuts last night and we had an assortment for after dinner. The donuts looked decadent to say the least. The donuts exterior was covered in:Coconut flakes- 2 starlavender color icing (blueberry)- 3 starcaramel and peanuts -1 starWould have preferred them still piping hot but oh well.Presentation 4.5 starsYes unfortunately I like bland plain ones and these were too sweet for me. Don't let that stop you from trying them out. I would encourage you to give them a chance.

Donuts are super good! Especially the Strawberry Sprinkle and Oreo!

Plain yeast donuts are really tasty although a bit pricey. I'd still go back to enjoy their donuts and service!

Location is in downtown so only pay parking is available but a gem of a place if you can get there.
