Stopped by last weekend at Morning Catch in Chinatown for some poke and was really impressed. Be sure to check their opening days/hours before you go because we did catch them on an off day the first time we tried. They are located inside an unassuming market so get that Google maps handy as you make your way here! We ended up parking at a municipal parking lot nearby for cheap.I went with the king salmon and ahi limu mix (A): The salmon was so good and probably one of the best I've had, and the ahi had that perfect firm texture. You can tell this is all fresh because they make everything to order, so do expect a short wait. The flavors were just spot on and the seasoning was simple but packed with flavor. A few days later, some friends came to visit, and I recommended Morning Catch to them. They went and absolutely loved it - they even said it was the best poke they had the entire trip! If you're in Chinatown and craving poke, this spot is a must. Definitely one of the best on the island!

It's definitely a catch to grab fresh poke in DA morning! Imagine going through the streets of Chinatown to grab some groceries in the morning, but you want something quick and fresh poke, THEN THIS IS THE PLACE! They also had pictures of the various combinations for your pokebowl. They even have king salmon, tobbiko, and kukui nut ahi -- which I thought was interesting since not many poke places that I've visited had those options!Menu (10/11/24) -- CHOICES: ahi, king salmon, hamachi, tako- 1 choice poke bowl $15 - 2 choices poke bowl $18 *PARKING*- limited free street parking- metered parking *SEATING*- 2 tables with 2 seats

Food 5/5 : my friends and I came here but since I don't eat raw fish, I got crab salad instead and it was good! Service 5/5 : There are only two workers, expect lines and to wait for your food. According to my friends, it's worth every penny and very fresh! Uncle was nice to bring out more chairs so we can all sit and enjoy our food! Ambiance 5/5 : It pretty quiet in this area of the market.

Morning Catch is a must-visit spot in Honolulu, hidden inside a fish market in Chinatown. It's definitely a fish market vibe with limited seating . There's signage out front, making it easier to find. The fish quality is top-notch--got the salmon and hamachi and loved every bite! Portions are generous, and the cucumber side is incredibly flavorful. Service was fast and friendly. It was so good, I made an emergency stop before my flight home! A must-visit for fresh, delicious seafood.

My oh my morning catch! Morning catch located in Chinatown, Honolulu has some of the best freshest poke I have ever had! Just keep in mind that they have limited seating with only two tables so you may have to get your order to go. When I went I got the ahi tuna poke and the spicy salmon. The salmon was my absolute favorite being buttery and perfectly tender. The ahi was also incredibly fresh and tangy! Absolutely recommend Morning catch!

Found this place on Instagram so instantly checked it out when we visited the island. They only have morning to early afternoon hours which makes sense since they're in chine town. Came on a Sunday, parking was a bit tricky but expected. We were lucky to find one after driving around a couple times but remember there's also a garage nearby. When we found the stall, we were greeted right away. There were a few people waiting for their food already. We ordered our bowl and waited for our food. Across their stall is a fish market stall that had toro and the guy working there was nice enough to give us a sample. Very reminiscent of tuskiji market. The food took a bit but made sense as they made them to order. When we got our food it looked really good and full for a small container. We enjoyed our food in one of the few tables they had and it was delicious! We took our leftover to go to the airport and still held pretty well. Would def comeback here when we visit the island again

Food quality: 5/5Service: 5/5Cleanliness: NAValue: 5/5Don't skip on: The King SalmonMorning Catch was a fantastic find for us!The poke was extremely fresh and I couldn't be happier with our first experience. We got shoyu limu ahi and the spicy king salmon poke bow and it was SO GOOD. We ordered and it took about 10 minutes to prepare, which wasn't bad at all. The girl who took and prepared our order was so sweet and nice. Can't wait to go back and try more poke out!

I was going to Oahu Market to get some groceries and wanted to try out Morning Catch poke bowls. The stand is tucked away near the back of Oahu Market. It is a humble stand with a few seatings right next to it. I ordered the volcano ahi bowl and it was prepared in 10-15 minutes. Volcano ahi bowl: The bowl included volcano ahi, crab salad, tobiko, spicy mayo, and unagi sauce. I also requested for wasabi and ginger on the side. Wow, this is one of the best poke bowls I've had. The fresh ahi had melt in your mouth texture and was buttery soft. I was surprised after taking a bite. I haven't had ahi that soft that was not in Japan. The spicy mayo has the right ratio of mayo and spicy sauce. It wasn't overpowering the ahi flavor and was delicious. It goes so well with the unagi sauce. The crab salad was a scoop of imitation crab in the middle and I wasn't too crazy about it. I would prefer just the ahi itself or less crab mixed with the ahi. Overall, an excellent poke bowl. The ahi was super fresh with a beautiful color. The sauce was very good. The rice is regular rice and it was hot. I do prefer sushi rice but it was an additional $1.50 charge which I opted out. Regardless, definitely will be returning again to try their other poke bowls.

Defintley a hidden gem - find it in the back corner of the local Chinatown Market! Was a struggle for parking for sure but they were more than accomodating for our group of 13! They got thru our orders as quick as possible and I enjoyed my combo bowl for the most part - only gripe would be the price in comparison to other spots in the area but definitely still a solid experience overall!

Hands down the best poke I had while in Oahu. It's in Chinatown in the market area kinda in a weird spot but don't let that scare you. It was so good. I got tuna and salmon with uni. I would eat that every week if I could.
