I have such gratitude and appreciation for the MCC. As a child, I attended Japanese classes afterschool at the MCC. A bus would pick me up from school and my grandpa would wait for me out front and we'd walk home together. As I got older and my grandparents did too, my grandma began coming here for a sense of community. She was able to connect with other elders and have activities to participate in. The Mo'ili'ili Community Center has always been a staple in the community and my only hope is that it can get some much needed updates to be able to continue supporting this special community for the keiki and kupuna that live in it.

Nice community center for seniors with free parking in structure next door. Went to check out their Taichi class. Also checked out the Calligraphy, Okinawan dance and advanced line dancing classes. Need to be an annual member to take classes. Courteous and friendly staff and teachers.

Wonderful community events happen here and I have been to a few. I especially liked the karate classes that have happened before. Mo`ilili Community Center is located right behind the building that Down to Earth is located in on King Street.Parking is interesting as the parking is found on the second floor, but half of it is split between the Down to Earth building and Mo`ilili Community Center. You can park in any stall here except for the stalls that are reserved. Altogether, Mo`ilili Community Center is only a couple of floors tall, but there are many rooms that the community gets to use depending on what is running in them. It's a great place to meet.

This review is only for the Thrift Store which by the way is the most organized and cleanest secondhand store I've ever been to. Happily, there is no musty dusty smell that smacks you in the face when you enter. You also don't have that overwhelming desire to sanitize your hands after touching any of the merchandise. The ladies behind the counter run it very clean. Some of the items that I've scored in the past and still use today: "Made in Japan" ceramic lion to hold paper clips, basket of wooden coasters, vintage Samsonite carry on and one-of-a-kind ceramic class projects.Come in and join in on the treasure hunt!

Thank you Moili'ili Community Center (MCC)! I first found this place when I was researching what to do with my daughter after school let out. I wanted her to be able to take Japanese classes and this was the perfect solution! There's a bus that picks kids up from a number of schools so I utilize that service to have her end her day at MCC. It's pricier that your typical A+ programs that the Department of Education has at the school site but for me, it's worth it. The average month runs me about $165 for bus pick up, after school care and Japanese School. They're also open on non-instructional days and most intersession days and spring, summer and winter breaks. What I like best about MCC is that on the long breaks, they typically have the option to buy lunch for so Yelpers like me who don't like to cook unless we have to, it's perfect! My daughter loves coming here and it's great that she can also make friends from other schools, including private and public schools.

Rating: 5/5Date Visited: 8/04/2011Service: 5/5Atmosphere: 5/5Parking: 2/5A great center where participants gather to socialize, to learn, to obtain services, and to stay active by being involved in Center or Community activities throughout the year. Recreation, health, and educational activities include excursions, hikes, seminars, classes, and special events. Services provided include information and referral, telephone reassurance, escort, and transportation. The Lanakila Meals on Wheels Program is also located at the Center; seniors partake of a hot lunch as well as join in a number of fun and wellness activities. There is so much more than what I have review.Service:Great people, both staff and volunteer's.Atmosphere:Perfect for residence nearby.Parking:Limited.

This is probably one of the heart landmarks of the Mo'ili'ili, the MCC. This place is a true artifact of the Mo'ili'ili community. I haven't actually participated in any of the programs here but I do come to this place often for meetings and stuff. They offer a lot of community service activities and leisure/recreational programs for the community for all ages. You can visit their office for more information. One of the things that they are well known for is providing support programs and activities for the elderly. They also have after school and extra curricular activities for children and youth. It's conveniently located right behind the Down to Earth store. They share a parking lot upstairs and there is also a lot for the center on the ground level downstairs.Yelp 365 Challenge #157/365

The Mo'ili'ili Community Center is a cornerstone for the Mo'ili'ili community that's been around for nearly a hundred years. They offer several programs that provide support to elderly folks, afterschool/holiday/summer care for keiki (children), have a Japanese language school for elementary-aged keiki, and run a thrift store onsite whose proceeds go back towards funding their programs.

The place seems clean and decent. It doesn't look amazing but since it's been around for so many years, what can I ask? Most, if not all, the rooms have air-condition (I haven't been in all the rooms) although the ac is just so loud! We had a group meeting and a lot of us could barely hear each other - the ac was so distracting. Good thing they also had fans and an abundance of windows. We cracked those open instead and turned on fans. Less distracting!Their bathrooms are all right, the same as any public bathroom, but I am grateful they're not all broken down or anything. It's nice to have a place in the community able to rent rooms for group meetings and have a place to sit comfortably and warmly with some space.

Needed a place for my son's fall break. We knew a child that was already attending here for after school care. This was a last minute thing so was happy to find child care that had hours from 7am-530pm. The price was reasonable and I paid extra for lunch. They have arts and crafts, play time, snack time. They have two field trips that are included in the price. So far my son is having fun.
