I came for the first time last Saturday to watch Bud play soccer. Last year they played their season at a much larger park which had limited parking. This park is right next to a school so their parking lot plus another one with steps across the way are used or street parking is another option. If you lug a cart with your chairs, umbrella(s) and mini cooler of chilled bottled water and/or spam musubi, etc.it's more convenient to maneuver your haul by parking at the school. The good thing about this park is that only 2 games are going on simultaneously vs 3. Fortunately there is ample shade on both sides to keep the fans from overdose of UV rays or heat stroke. Our team's practice was after 11 a.m. so the kiddies were playing in the heat of the day. Amazing how they can run back and forth across the field in that temperature.Just so happened there was someone close by intermittently playing Jawaiian type music so that was cool. The field was not muddy or overgrown, just dry so that was appreciated plus close enough and easy to walk to.AUWE to the person from the team before who left their orangey peels on the ground without taking their OPALA away with them. Gotta remember to live aloha.

Shaded basketball and tennis courts! One full basketball court, tennis court, and two pickleball courts that are shaded right off the freeway. A playground for kids and two more tennis courts in the sun. It's right next to the dog park as well. A bathroom and water fountain is also available. Shaded parking and benches wit trash cans around the park.My favorite park since it's shaded!

Today was my first time at this park. Ample parking and a shaded pavilion area next to the bathroom were a definite plus. The park was mostly empty except for a few people walking dogs. There's a lot of room to play, basketball courts, a swimming pool and tennis courts. This is a great park for some exercise and fresh air.

Once a year, I spend 4 hours (5am-9am) waiting in line to sign my daughter up for summer fun here. The summer fun program is run well and it keeps my daughter busy during the summer months. This park also has a recreational center. You can go on one to the city and county website or in person to sign up for classes here. My daughter also took tennis here taught by the USTA. I like that the tennis courts and basketball courts are covered (shade). The playground is small but ample. There is a decent sized dog park right next door. Warning: I've seen the park in the evening over crowded with large groups of people eating, talking, and hanging out while a bunch of children ran around unsupervised.

There seems to be a lot of confusion between the Moanalua Dog park and the community park(Purple Pin). I have posted a map to help out. The "Green dot" is the community park thats "under" the Jarrett White rd "overpass". You will pass the "dog park" on the way in and out usually. To make things more confusing? Is that there is actually a part of the park on the other side of the fence. There is a pavilion area with tables, a simple ball field and basketball courts. This was before any of the hard structures were built under the overpass. If it's rainy you will probably appreciate being under the overpass. To further confuse things! This is different from the "Moanalua Gardens Park" which is accessed from the westbound H201 off ramp to Jarrett white rd/Tripler hospital.

This is Part Seven in my "Moanalua-A-Day" Series. Moanalua Community Park is usually the first and last water stop on my run out towards Lagoon Drive. Apart from the popular dog park, there is also a busy basketball court that you could easily join in on a game, though sometimes the bench is crowded with two to five guys deep, anxious to jump in at the next rotation. There are also three tennis courts, two that get full sun and have been recently repaved and in great shape. There is also a jungle gym for the kids and nearby picnic tables under tree shade. Most of this park is covered by the Moanalua Freeway and the Jarrett White Road overpass.Bathrooms are available and clean. Parking is somewhat limited here, but there's ample space outside of the park's gates near the stream. However, there are times when the clientele here looks pretty shady and I often get the whiff of pot while I run pass. Actually puts a bit of spring in my step, just saying. Usually in this parking area outside of the park gates are a combination of taxi cabs, tow trucks, people waiting out traffic, discreet pot smokers and Heineken drinkers; then closer up towards Moanalua Gardens, after-school moms/dads waiting for their kids to finish their baseball matches. As long as there's daylight, I'd say you're okay. Otherwise, don't come here at night.Supposedly this park also houses the Moanalua Swimming Pool. I have yet to experience that part of the park and plan on doing that soon. Check back for my review.A rather nice park maximizing its unusual layout under overpasses just before you arrive to the beautiful Moanalua Gardens.#Yelp 365: 011/365

I come here for the dog park. Great stretch of running room for the doggies and even has a little doggie drinking faucet. I come her with my Labrador Pointer puppy, Miko. We come at different times on different days and often see the same group of dogs but sometimes new ones. Over the pass month there seems to be more and more doggies coming, which is great! If your doggy is transitioning and learning to play with other dogs, this is a great place to start. Most of the regulars keep a watchful eye on their dogs and the dogs are very friendly. Some have formed cliques but will still check out the new dogs and welcome them to the park. Here and there we will see aggressive dogs and owners that do not pick up their dogs droppings, but not too often. Great dog park to let your dog explore and meet other dogs.

Great park, located between Moanalua Elementary and Moanalua Middle Schools. You can play basketball, baseball, football, almost anything. Bring a net, play volleyball too. There is a pavilion with seating areas and benches as well. Bathrooms which were renovated, clean.Lights turn off at 10, but pavilion stays on all night.

This public park has a variety of activities for people and canines. I've been visiting this park to utilize the tennis courts for USTA lessons. With tennis, handball and basketball courts, you can get a full workout here. Also, there is an off leash canine park for your four legged buddies. If you're interested in going for a walk or run, you can follow the bike trail north of the park towards Kaiser Hospital where it runs along the Moanalua freeway. The park is connected to Moanalua Garden and the gate which connects each other closes around 5PM. Stop by and get some fresh air here at Moanalua Park and feel safe at the same time.
