7-15-22 Third time this week Bud asked to come. He enjoys the soaking mechanism at the Splash Park and going to the big pool.He split our pool time to spend some time by the slides at the playground.Checking in with Mililani resident IDs gets us our wristbands. We seem to come at the height of the sun's strongest rays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. It gives us a good 45 minutes of outdoor activity and the freedom of no masks for a little while.Fridays it opens later so it kinda throws off lunch and nap time but in the car ride home he took a little kitty nap.I'm not sure why little kids aren't allowed swim vests if they are not strong swimmers but there must be a good reason. I've seen between 1 to 3 life guards on duty at a time. Some more serious than others on watch.Saw for the first time a life guard testing the water in the baby pool and big pool then logging down his findings.Being at prime summer time more and more kiddies are seen at Rec 4 with grandparents or parents. If you time it right you can enjoy the 3 areas and leave when it starts to get crowded.

Now that we've been to all recreation centers in Mililani, with the exception of Rec 6 in construction (pending to see the new renovations), Rec 4 is deemed our favorite and the most younger aged kid friendly of them all. Why? Because they have the cutest splash park, playground, and a warm pool/kiddie pool. What they don't have is a water slide and shave ice/Starbucks, but no biggie, we can make do without. Anywho's, with lots of precautions and not much places i would take my infant to, we decided to celebrate his first birthday here. Limit of 10 people inside so we had to wait a long while. Good thing they were open pretty late, til 7pm! You need to have an MTA pass or go as a guest with someone who has and pay $10 per guest per day. It's street parking along the fence, facing the playground and splash park or anywhere you can find. But between those two is the entrance. Mask on when entering, exiting or when not in the water. No floaties allowed. Have fun!

Mililani Rec. 4 is an oldie but goodie. Recently moving back to Mililani, I have the opportunity to bring my kids to the same swimming pool that I grew up spending a lot of summer days swimming in!Unfortunately, Rec. 4 is now only open on holidays, winter, spring and summer breaks. But its available to rent for parties year round. ( When rent you this rec. center for parties, you have the entire rec. center to yourself, ohana.) It's not a huge pool but it is enough to get the kids out for short swim and burn off some excess energy or to just get them off your back about going to the pool. It is the smallest of all the swimming pools in Mililani Town but it does have all the amenities your family needs. The main pool goes from 3'-6', there's a keiki pool that's 2' deep, a small covered pavilion for for parties with picnic benches. The pool area has about 8 tables with seats and equipped with umbrellas. I'm pretty sure the staff there changes from time to time but they're always friendly! In addition to this, outside of the pool area is a small playground and an open area with tables to just hang out and talk story. Next to the rec center is Kealohi field. A big beautiful field with numerous monkey pod trees surrounding its perimeter. I wrote this review because there's a lot of reviews for the larger, newer rec centers in Mililani and I just wanted to show some love to this cozy but great little recreation center! Hope you guys check this place out.Rec. Center 4 just got better with new water park style features for keikis!MTA rules still apply, must be a member and sign in at the pool office. Our kids love it!Great job MTA!

Splash park is super fun. Been here several times with the kids but since this pandemic they have implemented new rules including a limit of how many people allowed in the park including the pool. No one is on the splash park and everyone is in the pool yet they won't let anyone use the splash park. Literally no one in the splash park... no time limit either. So be ready to let your kids press their faces against an empty park and wait patiently for people to leave.
