7-11-22 Glorious wet fun! If you come bring a towel for sure. This review is for Rec 4.Today was our 2 nd time coming but this time with Bud. There was a green high apparatus that slowly moved up then sent bucketloads of water down. The force looked significant but Bud kept going back for more. This was not here or not operable the first time we came. This time they added photos of us into their system. Then we were issued our hot pink wrist bands. At the pool the lifeguard said no life vests allowed when he saw it on our beach bag. We stayed at the Baby pool but Bud must have wanted more action and said, "Let's go back to the Splash Pad."

I love the new renovations to the pool! And I feel much safer swimming here knowing that my cousin is the lifeguard with another pair of eyes on the kiddies I bring. Lots of beach chairs and it's usually not crowded. As for the room upstairs, it's a bit of a hassle to go from the room to the pool if the party has the option for guests to enjoy both. As with Rec3, this room is also tight with no stage. The room where people usually place tables for food is crammed and going upstairs is another hassle.. It was pretty tight inside when I attended some parties and baby showers.. but we made it work. I could slide in easily. However parents with strollers and pregnant mommies may feel uncomfortable. Especially transporting a new born upstairs. I would just take the car seat and diaper bag.. The parking lot is very tiny, so with any party, parking on the street in a residential area can be humbug sometimes..

A cold pool with no kiddie section...no thank you! At least that's what I thought until today! Today was our first time at rec 1 for Movie by the Pool and we had a blast! But I'm not sure if it was because of the event or the rec center. Even though my kids were in the unheated pool from 6:30-8pm when the sun was already down, the water was surprisingly warm; one of the life guards did say it's usually cold but for some reason it was nice today. As with the rest of the Mililani Town Association pools, no floatation devices are not allowed. But for some reason on special events such as Movie by the Pool and Floatie Fridays (every 1st Friday of the month), floaties are allowed in the dark. Go figure! Rec 1 has two medium sized water slides; they were closed for the event but they looked narrow yet fun. Rumor is there are strict guidelines to be able to use the slides: 1) over 4ft fall and 2) pass a swim test. My friend's 4yo swims better than me and one day passed the swim test, but he was too short so sadly he wasn't allowed on the slide :( The pool is surrounded by beautiful grass hills. I don't know what they're usually used for but my kids had a blast rolling down them and I bet they're also fun for cardboard sledding! Since the pool isn't heated and rec 7 is, I doubt I would come back to rec 1 to swim but we will definitely be back for Movie by the Pool. PS Movie by the Pool was AWESOME!!! For $2 per ticket, which must be purchased in advanced, you're allowed entry and fed a pretty decent dinner buffet, dessert, free snacks and beverages, and can enter a raffle contest.

My daughter comes here to do her swim classes, this is her second or third set of classes so far. Parking is limited, so you may want to check in earlier than your class time. There is also street parking as well. The area around the pool is big, meaning lots of places to sit and watch swimmers from afar. There are seats with umbrellas if you are lucky and get one to sit at or you can sit in the grassy areas underneath trees. You may also borrow a long chair as well there. The bathrooms seem a little dirty but I guess it is because of the constant flow of traffic from pool to bathroom to shower, etc. It is expected. The showers and changing areas in the women's area seems alright as well.Just be sure to always have slippers on.Pool is clear and clean as far as I have noticed. The swim instructors are all friendly, and knowledgeable with their kids.
