Spam musubi comes in two styles: wet, where the spam is caramelized in a sweet shoyu glaze, and dry, simply pan-fried for a salty crunch. Wet brings a burst of sweet and savory, while dry offers a straightforward spam flavor.The spam musubi here at Middle Street Market is a dry version giving it a straightforward spam experience where the spam is the star giving it a clean, classic spam flavor. The same technique is applied to their red hotdog musubi.That being said the spam musubi here lives up to my expectations and more. the rice was fluffy and well cooked while the nori held everything nicely together. The portion is the normal size of any other spam musubi. Overall I would definitely recommend Middle Street Market because I know I will be back.

I like the convenience if I am right there. Carry Pepsi and Coca-Cola Products. They take EBT.

First time, I am coming to this little market on Middle Street. Someone posted that this little market had the BEST Musubi? So, I had to come here and go try it for myself. For me, it tasted like a little smokey flavored Spam, rice and wrapped with Nori(Seaweed) like any other Musubi around that I tasted. I didn't eat lunch yet and I was really hungry. So, it tasted really good. It's not the BEST. But, it was good. If you eat any musubi from anywhere that you buy and take it to the beach to eat it. They all tasted the BEST! This market looks like it's been here a very, very long time. People coming in and out and picking up small stuff they need. At least, I know this market is here and if I am in need of a snack again. I will come back again.

I grew up by Middle Street market, every once in a great while I stop there for a spam musubi and occasionally a hot dog manapua. They were out of the manapua so I got two spam musubi. This is the best musubi in Kalihi! $3.45 well spent. It's a simple musubi. Some places use furukake and/or teriyaki sauce, 1/4 slice of nori, but Middle Street Market keeps it simple and keeps it real... a fat spam fried well so it's crispy and tasty (unlike 7/11 which is raw and with teriyaki), wrapped by hand in rice and a full wrap or nori. It's broke da mouf!!! I actually like it a little more than Sushiman's in Pearl Highlands which is great, Middle Street Market has kept to this recipe since the owners bought it from Mr. Yi. Winner!

I live within the area and just thought to search them up on yelp and here I am. This place is generally good for basic market items except for produce. They have condiments, sauces, beverages, alcohol, dairy products like eggs and some medicine. The biggest surprise for me was they had sparkling water. Overall, they have the fundamentals. My only gripe is pets aren't allowed inside (I tried to bring in my dog). Overall they're nice people.
