Michi's Toy Box

This place is awesome, gotta be the best place for Gunpla on the island. Small shop with lots of kits, tools, AND accessories all at reasonable prices. Especially tools, since I saw so many tools that I couldn't find in other places or they're super marked up online. Derron was super helpful and went to great lengths in finding a hobby knife for me. Very knowledgeable as well. Would definitely come here again for all my Gunpla needs.

Michi's Toy Box is a tiny toy store on Young Street. They specialize in model kits from Japan, lots of Gundam. They also have supplies and paints. There isn't much to browse. At the time I visited, there were two families inside talking story with the owner, it seemed like a happy place.Parking is free in the shopping center.

I came in just to look around and I realized that I needed paint. I asked her for a couple of things and she found it for me, even with my vague description, it comes to her understanding what I needed and being the right colors.

Michi's Toy Box is one of those hidden gems of Hawaii. They have all kinds of stuff in terms of Gunpla. Being new to gunpla myself, I found Derron's help in getting into the hobby super helpful and welcome. If you're not into gunpla, the store also has a variety of other anime memorabilia, board games, etc. If you can't find something that tickles your fancy, they also can special order for you! Overall great staff and I look forward to my next visit!

I recently got back into model building, and found this place on a whim. Derron and Michi are both cheerful and helpful in my little search for a new kit to build. Derron is particularly knowledgeable about the origins of each Gundam (and I'm over here like duhrrrrr), and shared that he specializes in special orders.It's nice to have a shop in town that sells this stuff. I forgot how much I enjoyed it when I was a kid.

They have some anime stuff and lots Gundam stuff. If you like to build Gundam models then they will have something. If not you can special order it.Other than that not much is in the store. The store is really a Gundam specialized store honestly so if you are not interested in Gundam like me you may not find anything interesting here.

Was recommended this store and came in on my day off. The owner, Derron is pleasant and knowledgeable on all his products. He sells Gundam however he has branched out to anime and tabletop games. Small store with a large heart. While I was browsing, three customers came in at different times and started talking story, reinforcing a friendly atmosphere. Shop local!

Great place, the worker was very helpful and friendly. He also inspired my son to do more gundam builds which he now loves so very much.

This past weekend was the first time going and I was very surprised at the selection of Gundam models and the knowledge. I love that they are such a small business. Never knew that this place existed until I started looking online. I'm really happy that I went. It is definitely a hidden gem. If you are thinking about getting into Gunpla this is the place to go to get started.
