I'm really picky about my fish and chips. I had Marlin. MARLIN fish and chips. It was crispy, flavorful, amazingly surprising! Tater sauce was light, dilly, delicious. Service far beyond expectations for a resort community. Attentive, engaging. Lovely. This will be an "always go" place on Oahu for us. AND. Their staff love their owners. That tells me so much about where I want to spend my money. Not to be missed

Breakfast review: 4 starsI ordered the Da Benny benedict which had smoked kiawe pork. It was a nice change in flavors but the meat was a bit hard to chew. Maybe that's how this type of pork is. Don't know. My daughter ordered the avocado toast and a side of fried rice. Both were decent. They need to use a different type of bread for the avocado toast. Dinner review: 2 stars. I ordered the cheddar burger. It needed help. Better beef. Better toppings. Pretty boring. One daughter ordered the Shrimp Scampi. She said it was "dry and barely had any taste" (she's in culinary school). My other daughter had some sort of salad. She was disappointed because it had a lot of avocado that was not ripe. Some things are pretty good but they are not consistent.

Took this pic two days ago of the restaurant's own advertisement in the Ilikai. States buffet is daily. Got there this morning and was surprised to be told it's only on weekends. This after driving there and paying to park. Sad when you can't count on an establishment to keep their own ads up to date. ALikely will not return. Spent our money elsewhere. But that was not much better either (see review for Goofy)Do better.

I had two meals here while staying at the Ilikai. The first was dinner with family and I had the pineapple chicken served in a pineapple. It was okay but would have loved some cut up pineapple within the dish that had a lot of rice and lacked flavor except when you got some pineapple flavor off the cut out pineapple. However the chicken was cooked nicely and tasted good. There was music which was very loud so hard to hear those at our table. The other meal I had was lunch where I had the Kailua pork sandwich that came with fries and was quite good. The fries were crisp and the toppings were tasty. I did enjoy that meal.

This place is a life-saver, just walking distance from the Pink Sails wail watching, I definitely needed a little refreshing drink and some nosh. It was cool inside, beautiful view of the shiny water and marina. Delicious poke nachos, fresh with a great asian inspired sauce - very generous portion, decent price- really hit the spot. Beverage was delightfully sweet and sour. Excellent service , loved how it was inside and outside in the square. I'd recommend if in the area.

So this is a hard one to review. I want to give them 5 stars for the food. But the service was a hit or miss with two exceptions. Below is our experienceWe stayed at the Ilikai for 10 days, we probably eat here at least six or seven times for lunch or for dinner. We did not have one bad meal as far as food. The items we tried were the kalua omelette, Kalua sliders, kalua pork sandwich, hot wings, edamame,Jalapeno popper sandwich,Waimea burger, the ribeye and our favorite by far the fresh catch of the day fish and chips. Oh and the crispy onions we also loved! That's all I can remember. We only took a couple photos of the food. Their signature Mai Tai was also nice with the twist of coconut rum in it. I mean come on! Who can't be happy with a Mai Tai and beautiful view to enjoy the sunset from? Plenty of TV's and live entertainment. For all that above I give 5 starsNow why I wanted to give 3 stars. The first three days we had amazing service, fast, polite and on top of it. After that it went down hill with two exceptions .When the manager could see the service getting behind (new hires) he stepped right in to make things right. I won't get into detail because as I said he stepped in and got everything settled. The other is the owner, great guy and also stepped in wherever he could. He was always looking to make sure things were going well. Both the Owner and manager along with the food are what kept us coming back. So for their efforts we give them a 4 stars I understand staffing and training issues with a new company so I gave them grace for that because you can see they both want this place to succeed just as we do!See you in July!

This is a review for the lunch. I was hoping this place would be better than the last tenant, Cinnamon's. However, it unfortunately ended up being mediocre, just like Cinnamon's.We had Mai Tais first and they were okay. We didn't care for the coconut rum in it. The next up, the Plantation Iced Tea cocktail was too bitter and too much citrus taste for our liking.Wings were the best food I had at this restaurant. The sweet chili sauce was sweet but spicy, as it was supposed to be. Loco Moco was like pre-made frozen beef patties and canned gravy. That might not be the case, but that was how they tasted like.Fish and Chips' fish had too much batter and the actual fish inside was very tiny. Also the tartar sauce wasn't very good. However, the French fries were decent. The service was great and everyone was friendly. It took a long time for the food to arrive, though. Overall, my experience was insignificant.

Poke tacos were good and a decent size for the price. They have local craft beer and interesting drinks including their version of a Mai Thai. It did the job for lunch after a hot day on the ocean whale watching! Service was ok but we had to get someone's attention in the outside part because we were put indoors (bar area was packed and noisy on Super Bowl Sunday as you'd expect).

The service here was good and the restaurant is in a nice spot that overlooks the ocean depending on where you sit. The food in the other hand was very underwhelming especially for the price. I'd rather find a food truck somewhere than eat here again. I asked for a Burger cooked medium and my wife asked for well done. Both burgers were well done. I normally don't push that type of issue so I let it go. The burger was like a cafeteria burger. I don't recommend. We ordered buffalo wings for an appetizer and yah the wings were drenched in buffalo sauce. It made it difficult to eat them. Overall, not a fan.

Food was tasteless. Ambiance was good as was my server Yulia, sweet and efficient! I ordered Da Benny with is purported to be an eggs Benedict variation. Order received . No Kalua pork on the rice with the poached eggs. Send it back. New plate. Arrived with the 'Kalua pork' meat, the potatoes rice and meager Lilikoi hollandaise. Nothing had any flavor, rice was plain steamed rice, potatoes were crispy but again no flavor. What they call Kalua pork was more like char sue. Not tasty, tough slice of fatty meat. Information: they offer only black tea or camomile. I amLocal, and they do not offer kama'aina. Don't bother with this meal, I don't think highly of the food. This was a Friday morning, 9am, restaurant was not busy. Dec. 6, 2024.
