Megumi Restaurant

Small hole in the wall with affordable prices. The regular chicken katsu is HUGE! I had enough for 2 meals. Also wanted to try the chow fun. I thought it tasted good, but wasn't typical chow fun as this one has garlic chicken in it, so it was really garlicky, but I like garlic so it was fine with me. The chicken katsu was super crispy and came out hot. They also gave so much. Definitely worth it! The fried rice was just okay. Will probably get the chicken katsu with regular rice next time. The guy working there is pretty friendly but a little softspoken. He's definitely super nice as he gave me an andagi on the side with my order for free! The andagi had a good taste and was super yummy!

The food was horrible. Making roll was hard like day old sushi. Teri Hamburger Patti was all breading with Teri sauce, tasted like mush. Pork ribs was burnt.

Old school spot, they been in Kaneohe's for as long as I can remember! Stop in while at Nissan getting service on my wife's car!

Brah! This teriyaki hamburger patty was horrible. It broke all apart and tasted like bread with shoyu then fried. The chow fun was mehhh. Expensive, never again. Old school time was winnahs. Not anymore, so sad

Great Okazuya-delicatessen with a nice variety of local favorites. Of course spam musubi & shoyu hotdog. Chow fun, fried saimin, breakfast items with Portuguese sausage, hash, and more. Friendly service from a real mom and pops kinda place out Windward side.

Okazuya in Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawaii...This Christmas Season, our priest, Father Mario, decided to celebrate Misa de Gallo (Rooster's Mass at dawn) at 5:30am for nine days. I wanted to bring rolls of Maki Sushi to share during fellowship after mass since Megumi Restaurant opens at 5am. I went twice, but they weren't open at 5am. I saw a worker starting to put water in the stainless steel food display area, but they didn't look like they were ready for customers.I had been to Megumi in the past. It's located in a building next to the Nissan dealership on Kamehameha Highway. The food wasn't memorable, but it's on my way to Honolulu, so, it's convenient. I stopped by at 7:15am (before 8am mass) and they were open!I got two containers of ume musubi, cone sushi, and spam with egg musubi for my friend and I to eat at the movies... Haha! The ume didn't have a seed - yay! The cone sushi had a very light taste and lots of liquid. The spam was very savory.Maybe I should order something else next time... The BBQ short rib, pork chop, sweet sour spare rib, and New York steak sound good!

So happy to find another restaurant that's open early morning here in Kaneohe. I work here on the Windward side at 6:45am, and would only have a few spots that are open that early. I like picking up before work so I don't spend my entire lunch break to go and pick up. My first time here and so I went for it all lol. Decided to go with Big J's breakfast, comes with 3 scoops of your choice white rice or fried rice. 3 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 slices of Portuguese sausage, 2 spam and a hot dog. So much food :) Also got a side of garlic butter fish. Everything was flavorful except for the fried rice. It was a little crunchy for my taste. Definitely had flavor, maybe a little over cooked? The gentleman who was serving me was nice, I'm not sure if he had a hearing aid or just me talking soft. Overall a good spot. Definitely coming back. I would wanna give them a 5 star review

Under the original owner, they had delicious corn beef hash patties. This is what two patties looked like yesterday for $9.00+.

Newly Renovated and the ambiance is a much better place to relax. They have only one table but the table is new and the chairs are styling. The owner Yong is a very nice guy and always takes care of his customers. The food is good and the service is great. The prices are reasonable and affordable.

Wanted to like this place but the food did not taste very good. Teri hamburger in the steam pans seemed more like shoyu-soaked bread.
