See that pineapple bowl in my profile picture...I give it to you for the picture worthy. Everyone at eat the street asked me which truck it was from. Not gonna lie it was a good sell gimic until I tasted it. Yup.. It's picture worthy but no way is it worth it! Went to Eat the street at makers and tasters. The line was long to get it. $10 for the garlic shrimp fried rice in a pineapple bowl well literally half a pineapple, stems and all. The shrimp was bland, rice was bland... Shrimp literally just had garlic powder flakes on it with no taste. Ok the shrimp was plump... I give you that. Rice was just rice and peas??! THATS IT?! Come on!! Everything was blahhhh!Maybe they improved... I dk. Maybe it was just too busy and you lacked on mine? Giving you benefit of the doubt but really I wouldn't spend that $10 again.

Wowing Mega-Load Burgers' Pineapple Boat! Imagine this, a halved cored pineapple filled with sweet pineapple chunks covered with fried rice; topped with kalua pork and BBQ sauce and optional sriracha sauce and finally a fried egg! I didn't see the pineapple under the fried rice in the display u til I started eating it. Other varieties include shrimp or chicken. My friends also enjoyed the Three Lil Pigs trio of hamburger sandwich with homecut French fries and the Loaded Pulled Pork Fries! Hurry. They are located at the Mililani 50th Anniversary (1968-2018) located at the MHS stadium, right NOW!

I've had their food at a few different food truck events. But last night had me so heated I'm writing a review less than 12 hours later. Last night I went to the food truck event at Kapolei Commons. I waited in line for about 10 minutes-nothing outrageous. But then I had to wait for my food for over 30 minutes. Even though I provided my name during checkout, employees were just calling out the name of the dish. Then everyone who ordered that dish was supposed to raise their hands. Then the employee just randomly selected the customer. The girl waiting next to me has been waiting for 3 dishes for over 40 minutes. And worse yet, the orders weren't coming out together. The family next to me waited over 20 minutes for 3 dishes so the first dish was cold by the time the last dish came out. At one point an employee asked everyone to raise their hands if they ordered the garlic shrimp dishes. After 22 people raised their hands, the employees started talking about how they different have enough pineapples. The employees obviously weren't working well together-the employees outside the van kept yelling at the employees in the van. Last night was definitely my last time eating here!

Walking around the most recent Eat The Streets, I stumbled onto this lunch wagon and was craving fries. Well lo and behold, they have fries! But not just fries, but fries with pork, sauce, cheese, egg, jalapeno, pineapples......what, pineapple? Holy freaky food Batman, let's do it.Well, I really really was hoping for something mind blowing, but what I got was fries, with toppings placed in areas of the fries, almost like a bi Bim bap bowl before you mix it, so wasn't sure how to eat it. When I did finally decide to dive right in......it was just fries with nothing special, anyone can make it with a bag of frozen fries, cutting board, knife, and a refrigerator of food. Let's not forget the pineapple...yep, I learned a lesson, fruit and potatoes don't pair well together in my book.I do want to give them props for being different and trying. Not to mention the employees were nice. I think in another year with a tweak to the menu, they could be a contender.

So my review is based solely on their Waikiki stands during street festivals so I'm not sure what the brick and mortar experience is. The shrimp in a pineapple bowl is atrocious. It's crap and deserves negative stars. However their monster burger and 3 little pigs sliders are delicious, and deserves 5 stars. So there ya go, 3 star average.

We enjoyed a scrumptious day at the Kapolei Eat the Street and were heading back to the car but on our way we saw something irresistible...Mega-Load Burgers! Boy was I glad we stopped! They had so many mouth watering choices, which they had out on display. We decided on the Three Little Pigs (three beef sliders with ham, pulled pork and cheese and a side of fries). Unfortunately I can't remember what we paid for it because my memory is clouded with pure deliciousness! Whatever the cost it was worth it! They had such a great way of re-purposing the outside of the pineapple they used for their Lihing pineapple by using it as a bowl for their fried rice. I love those types of creative ideas! The flavors were out of this world! The smokiness of the pork worked so well with the saltiness of the ham. My only critique is that the burger itself was a little dry but other than that excellent. I would definitely visit again to try that awesome fried rice.

This review is based off of my experience at Eat-the-Street. I've passed this food truck several times and have always wanted to try their pineapple bowls. I finally decided to try one last night and was very disappointed with my experience. The ordering process was easy and quick, but their system for getting food to customers was extremely unorganized. The cashiers write your name on a slip of paper with a few other customers' and their orders and hand this piece of paper to the person handing out food. I noticed on several occasions them getting confused between the writing on the papers and the orders. I waited nearly 20 minutes and was contemplating getting a refund. I decided to ask the man who was calling orders and he told me, "I think I called you and someone else picked it up." I was shocked! No apology, no nothing. It's scary to think you can just go and pick up someone else's food without paying. I noticed him scrambling and finally gave me the next fried rice that came out. I felt sorry for whoever's fried rice that was supposed to be, but I had waited long enough. The food was okay, but the experience had already left a bitter experience in my mouth. What was advertised as "Pineapple Fried Rice" was simply fried rice with a few pieces of pineapple placed at the very bottom of the bowl. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was the hardworking women in the back who were busy fulfilling the load of orders coming in. Overall, they were very unorganized and sloppy and Ido not see myself coming back.

Not bad had the garlic shrimp pineapple bowl at eat the streets wait was over hour and half. They could use a better system when passing out food maybe a number system? It was good though- the pulled pork one was really spicy it too was served in the pineapple shell. Overall worth it not to bad I went to Eat the Streets knowing I'd go back to them.

I've been wanting to try mega load burgers pineapple bowl for about 4 months now since we got to the island because they're one of the only places I've been able to find them. They were at est the street in kapalina beach homes tonight which I've been looking forwards to for 2 weeks. We ordered 2 pineapple bowls one with shrimp the other with chicken, and a 3 little pigs. We waiting about 20 mins and heard them tell someone who ordered before us it was going to be about another 10-15 mins. The only reason I didn't cancel my order is because I've been waiting so long for thisAbout 5 mins later I hear someone in the back say no more pineapples.... they ran out of pineapples!!! They continued handing out the bowls without the pineapple shell without telling anyone, so no one really even had the chance to cancel. I was extremely mad that they wouldn't have counted the pineapples in advance to be prepared for how many orders of that dish they could take. After another 20 mins they say they've run out of chicken.. at this point I was just so dumb founded that a business could be this unprepared and unorganized. Again, they did not announce it but gave customers the option of shrimp or pork when their order came up. Everyone by this point was very upset you could tell but they continued to do nothing about it. The guy offered drinks to everyone at one point but no one accepted.. not surprised. After 1 hr of waiting, my night was ruined, people were complaining about the food how bad it was or it wasn't correct. We wasted our entire night waiting for this food that had to be changed several times and nothing was offered to anyone, no partial refunds, no coupons, absolutely nothing but "thanks for your patience". I'm sure I paid something for the pineapple shell I didn't get.. I would like someone to contact me about this awful experience and have someone do something about it. To me this was an unacceptable experience but I was too mad at the time to talk to anyone. I just wanted to go home. My night was ruined by this experience. We didn't get to spend time with our friends who we invited to go with us, and the food was severely disappointing. Please update your ordering system, count the pineapples and how many people order them, before your next event like this. I am SURE you lost a lot of return customers tonight.
