Selection was good, not too busy. Easy to get around and find the needed things without a hassle. Self checkout or friendly cashiers that are helpful. Remember cash to top your baggers.

If you can shop here, it can be great, especially if they're selling an item on clearance. The Marines do not mess around if they want to clear an item out, and I got my mom a designer handbag, the real deal and not a knock-off, for a bit more than a decent poke bowl! Their newly remodeled store is lovely, but their stock is now a bit more limited with few outdoor furniture options.

Do you like cheap deals? Do you like the no name brands? Well get the heck out of here while you still can. As a former Marine I realized quickly in my career a lot of Marines and there counterparts like the best the world has to offer. The layout of the store is great, and honestly if you like name brand products you have a HUGE selection to choose from. Everything from swim wear (mens and women's) to electronics. The outdoor selection is nice as well. Over all its not a bad place to shop if you are looking for name brand. I think of it as a quiet and smaller NEX without the off name brand stuff.

Navy Exchanges tend to charge more than AAFES for the same products, and Marine Corps Exchanges even more than that. Henderson Hall in DC/NOVA catered to the diplomatic crowd and was always expensive, more expensive than Quantico. MCX K-Bay is no different. The Main Exchange is relatively new and well-stocked, just pricey. Sometimes you can find a bargain in the clearance racks, but not that often. The Garden Shop used to be the Main Exchange back in the day, but now has furniture, tools, pet supplies, toys, and a mini mart. I only visit when I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere else because the customer service is dismal. What really frosts my cookies is the lack of trust exhibited by the low pay grade cashiers, as mandated by NAFI management, no doubt. Yes, as another Yelper said, they always ask for ID card when you pay with a credit card, even though you've already shown your ID to the cashier when you first walk up. And they treat your cash as counterfeit for bills larger than $5. So when I rarely buy there, I bring a wad of $1s and $5s. I'm about to bring rolls of quarters. They can bite each coin to see if it's real. As a veteran O-4 and the spouse of a retired O-5, it appalls me how poorly these clerks treat authorized patrons. When you object to being treated like a potential thief, these clerks get all snippy. Seriously? Back in OCS, I took an oath to be honorable, as did most other active duty folks. So why are we treated like scum when we shop at a facility that's supposed to be exclusively for our benefit? Is credit card fraud and counterfeit bills THAT much of a problem among authorized patrons that we all have to be treated like suspects?

With all of the rearranging and construction done to the MCX, plus all of the new additions to the supplies available, I do have to say this location is slowly improving. I love the new make up section (still small but a lot bigger than before) and I love that they finally have shoes to choose from! The electronics section is currently under construction, but if it ends up anything like the rest of the store has, then I'm sure it'll come out great. Customer service is still a little iffy. Just depends on who you get. They're still very strict about ID'ing name on card to name on ID as well. Also, if you bring your own bag in, you get 5 cents off of each item. The MCX is growing on me a lot more. I can't wait until it's completed. Might end up doing another update review :)

This place gets 2 stars only because the people in the electronics, a few cashiers &the lady in customer service was nice when I was returning umbrella. The electronic guy is always nice &helpful in finding what I need. I was in the other day buying shoes & the 2 girls working in the area were my age but didn't bother to help me & kept talking story. Then when I asked for shoes they shot me dirty looks as if I'm the rude one for interrupting them.Plus some of the cashiers are not friendly at all, they seem like they their job or something...makes me wonder who really hired them

The atmosphere of the store is great and it's convenient since it has things I need and is nearby my house. What sucks is the customer service. I've only encountered one guy at that place that actually has a pleasant attitude and I appreciate him so much. The majority always have a sour attitude and I understand since I've worked customer service that it sucks and you deal with crappy people but to throw that attitude on others that don't deserve it is kind of messed up. My parents are here visiting and they wanted to get a few souvenirs. The first time around, I had the said nice guy and he was very patient with my parents(my mom gets lost in translation sometimes.) My parents handed them cash and the transactions went smoothly. The second time, my mom needed to get a hair brush and was tempted to buy more. We had some girl as cashier(maybe new employee) and right off the bat she was looking at my parents all weird. Then turns to me and says "you know they can't pay right?" I'm like "um yes, that's why they are giving me cash." She tells me I have to be the one to pay for everything with my own card because there's cameras around. I'm assuming it's policy ? But I've never had that problem before. Plus she was definitely staring at us like we were criminals or something. That pissed me off. I wish I got her name because that didn't sit right with me. Yeah, they really need to work on their customer service skills and learn from that one guy that helped us out. I don't care how crappy it is at work, it'd be nice to be treated like a human being.

I picked up some stuff and took it to the cashier. The items wouldn't scan, so they couldn't sell it to me. Because it wasn't in their barcode system. A little over a week now and they are still not in the system.

***Pre/During COVID-19 Visit*** Never had a complaint as it always had anything I was searching for. I often got my toiletries here, but they've also got a good selection of men's clothing. Majority of my board shorts I purchased right from this store and the staff is super helpful. You have to bring your own shopping bags to shop or you can buy at the register. They stopped issuing bags a few years back. This place is super laid back and hardly ever packed. Aloha!!!
