WHY WE WENT HERE:- can't go to Hawaii without experiencing a luauCUSTOMER SERVICE/OVERALL EXPERIENCE:- located off Kunia Rd south of Ko Hana Distillers- when we arrived onsite, the parking lot is gravel (be mindful of the shoes you wear); majority of the patrons arrived via bus (I believe from their respective resorts in Waikiki); if you drove in, you're directed where to park- depending on the type of seating/ticket you purchased will dictate which line you go into to check-in- best to arrive early so you have more time for all of the available activities/experiences the luau (pre-dinner) offers- when you enter, you are lei'd and go inside; activities/experiences available were: tattoo (henna-esque), coconut shaving, banana peeling I believe, unearthing of the kalua pig, kava, bar, shave ice, leaf weaving, and shops/merch (like the kind of stands you'd see at a farmer's market)- the dinner itself was OK; the disappointing thing is that we thought it'd be more cultural (other than the kalua pork and the haupia, not really); we also had the golden seating (first up to eat the all-you-can-eat buffet) but by the time we got to our seats, our food was cold; we can't imagine what it was like for those in the subsequent sections- alcoholic beverages/cocktails were very watered down as well- the performances were astounding; it was great to experience it while in Polynesia (I used to dance hula and tahitian and would support friends in their performances with their respective Polynesian club performances in college)

#47 of 52 (weeks of trying a new restaurant at least once a week)Ok, I know this isn't technically a restaurant.....but they did have a lot of food so think I can count it as a new place we tried. My honey's son was visiting us an we decided a luau would be a good experience. My honey has lived here for 4 years and hadn't been to a luau yet either so it was good they could experience it together. I did some research to find out the best one and this luau came up over and over again as a great one and more authentic than the others. They are fairly new too so it was nice to see it was so well received after a short time. You choose from three pricing options and they all come with different benefits. We chose the most expensive so we could be close to the stage. We got to go in early, all got some nice leis and we were seated in the front. The tables run vertically in front of the stage so while you're table may be in the first row you may not necessarily be in the front. Dinner was not immediately available when arriving so they provide some activities and educational experiences to bide time until dinner. You could get a "tattoo" with removable ink which the guys did. You could learn about how they cook the pig in the imu. There was a place to make your own flower bracelet and tea leaf weaving for a hat. There was a place to try kava and lastly you could get your picture taken at the rear of the property in front of a pretty view of the mountains and city. There were also a few vendors on site selling their item. They got us all seated, welcomed us and then started releasing us for dinner. They release you by table which was very orderly. There was SO much food to choose from and some people just started with 2 plates so they could try everything. Some of the items included noodles (with and without meat), purple potatoes, sautéed veggies, kalua pork, chicken, fish, rolls, salad and some desserts. I got a little of everything. It was all really good! Everything was flavorful and actually pretty authentic to what you'd find in a local restaurant on island. Even though this is about the food I can't not talk about the show. The only word I have is WOW!!! They did a phenomenal job! The emcee was good and funny and he kept it interesting. So much historical and cultural information given on the islands in the Pacific with an accompanying dance. The dancers danced their butts off and did such a good job. The show ended with fire dancers and just wow......they were amazing!! This was definitely worth the cost! If you're trying to decide which luau to do, there is no comparison, this is the best!

Not so good experience We booked this luau because of the great reviews. We also paid the additional fee to get picked up from our hotel. The original date we booked was postponed because of the rain. I called and they upgraded our tickets and booked us for a show a couple of days later. We changed our original plans in order to attend the luau. No bog deal. We understand things happen. We were excited about the luau! We were ready and waiting well before our drivers arrival time along with others who were attending. Our pick up time had passed and we had not heard from anyone about our driver being late. Our bus arrived a little over 20 min past pick up time. The driver got out of the bus and started calling our names. We sat on the bus awhile, waiting for other guests who had not arrived. At this point, we are over 30 minutes. Our driver got lost and we ended up getting stuck in major traffic. This is where everything goes from bad to worse. We were the last bus to arrive. We were greeted with a warm welcome by one of the staff members who assured us that we were not too late for the activities and that we would get the full experience (yay!). We would be able to do the activities and get our photos. Unfortunately, that is not what happened when we got off of the bus. The photo booth and the activities were all closed. We caught the end of a demonstration on how they cook the pig but I was unable to see it because I was way in the back. Too short to see anything. We were directed to our seats and dinner started shortly after. We tried the drinks that were included but ended up paying for the better drinks. They were well organized for the buffet lineup. The lines moved fairly quickly. The food was good and better than other buffets we tried. They give you an opportunity to get more food. I would recommend getting another plate as soon as you can. They have a vendor that sells cute souvenirs to take home. They also provided us with ponchos because it was raining off and on. We purchased the sweatshirts and loved them! The show is great! I like that they get the kids involved. It was nice to see the kids take pride in their performance. The kids get a 5 star review! It's a really good show. Everyone did a great job! They explained the history behind the different dances they did. They also incorporate a little humor. We really liked the show. After the show, we headed back to our bus. We did not know which bus to get in because our original driver was not there. We tried asking a couple of drivers for help but they looked at us and walked away. Another driver just ignored us. We eventually found our driver. I ended up chatting with an agent about the experience and they offered a small refund. I tried explaining that we had paid for a great experience filled with photos, activities and memories. We didn't get to enjoy the views and scenery arpynd the venue. It was my friends first luau and he was looking forward to the whole experience. Overall, the show was great but not sure if I would go back.

My family wanted to book a luau for all 20+ of us and we found that the Mauka Warriors Luau was our best option. We we're all able to get the Mo'i Package through Groupon which made it a little bit cheaper. The staff was really accommodating as far as letting us sit together by emailing them our confirmation numbers a few days before. When you're driving out here, you want to make sure that you slow down because we missed our turn and it took us a while to get back. We were late but parking was plentiful and check in was quick and simple for everyone. The space here is enormous with very great views of the land and the night sky was beautiful as well. There was so many activities for everybody to participate in. Again we were late so we didn't get to do much but my family participated in picture taking, tattoos (not permanent), and we even saw them pull out the pig.The food was buffet style and solid. Everything was cooked well and it was a good spread. They pretty much had everything you would have at a typical luau but the star was the Kalua Pork. The drink situation was a little confusing. We got drink ticket but some mixed drinks were one ticket, sometimes two. No idea, we only got one drink each anyway. The MC/host for the night was funny and very engaging. There was a good amount of crowd participation before the actual performances. I thought the main show performances were great. They were telling stories of Polynesian history and each performance was captivating. Now this is specific to me but I guess my whole family told them I was getting married and I somehow ended up on stage which was not great for me but what can you do (sorry for the mini rant). Overall definitely a great experience with my family and it is definitely worth a look if you're in the market for a luau.

We went as a party of 6 this past Thursday to the Mauka Warriors Luau and had an amazing time. There were several activity stations to walk around to before the show started which made it a more hands-on experience. The food was delicious, and the show was outstanding. We were thoroughly impressed with this event and highly recommend it.

The food was very good and the server would come and do things without us even asking like giving us a free non alcoholic Pina Colada. The show was very good with there hula dancers and during the day their were many islands that you could cost to learn about culture and their were fun activity's. That is why I give this place 5 stars

The best luau I have been so far...we found out this place from our hotel and booked through with the hotel. The price was including transposition and the whole evening entertaining, meal and drinks...bus came on time to pick us uo and took about 45 mins to get there. I love how organized it is and there are so many stations pre show to learning about the Pacific Islander culture. And the food was decent considering it's a buffer style and the performance was blowing my mind especially shout out to the younger kids. I also like how they educated us about how important coconut trees to the islanders and they lite up fire for the fire performance.

First time in Hawaii and first luau! So I don't have much to compare it to. I booked for a group of 10 based on Yelp reviews. I got a very quick email response when I contacted them to make sure our large group would be seated together. Same day. Very good customer service. The event was very well organized. With literally hundreds of guests I thought it'd be more chaotic. But people were respectful and they had people go up for food in an organized timed manner. Tip: Check into Yelp while you can checking in. You get the extra drink ticket at the start, not once you get to the bar.The restrooms were very clean and if you time it well it's not bad. There are two stalls. Both handicap accessible sized. Plenty of toilet paper. Lots of fun pre-show activities like temporary tattoos (custom! The artist suggested something a little different when we said we liked the hibiscus flower he did for the woman before us.) There were also flower bracelets and the photo booth! The Photo Booth had weapons props. How fun! It's an easy way to get a decent group photo. But beware that there may be shadows depending on the lighting. Lots of audience participation during this show. I think about 3-4 times they invite people to come on stage throughout the show. The show was very good too! Nice storytelling. The fire dancing was mesmerizing. Most people were very respectful and did not stand up/rush to the front block other people's views. The food was good for buffet food! I was full after one plate. Some people got up for more. The drinks were tasty but not strong. You can also use drink tickets for bottled tea and shaved ice! Lots of flavors available for the shaved ice. I'd recommend using the spoon from your dinner and mixing it well. Parking was very well organized and actually it was very easy to get out. If you're from the mainland or otherwise not acclimated to the humidity it will be a welcome surprise. The weather was blissfully cool and not humid. I forgot to put on bug spray but wasn't bitten either. It felt like a perfect way to end our Hawaii trip. Thank you Mauka Warriors Luau!

Whole vacationing in Waikiki we wanted to enjoy a Luau- My husband found them on Facebook. He ordered the VIP tickets as a surprise- we had concerns when we first got there....We thought OH NO! It was early and the place is located by a golf course- we thought we were lost or something. But, soon folks started coming and they began setting up! We were really delighted with all the activities- even before we entered they had several people doing tattoos (Temporary) which was fun! There was crown making with palms, orchid bracelets you could make, and lots of gorgeous far of views of Waikiki! The staff was certainly welcoming and we felt the Aloha Spirit here for sure! The food was plentiful and catered to many cultural groups- we loved the pork, grilled pineapple the most!! The real STAR is the Performances- loved the story telling of the culture and its history- the costumes, performers were all on point! It was one of our most treasured memories from our trip!! It's was worth every penny without the food! They made a Special effort to acknowledge Birthdays, Anniversaries, Service Members- it was really special!! Well Done Mauka Warriors Luau!! We will certainly recommend you to all that travel to Waikiki!!
