Matsumoto Shave Ice

The line was around 30 deep but we got our shaved ice in about 20 minutes.I've tried a few other shaved ice spots on the island and this was my favorite! Choose your 3 favorite flavors and make sure to add condensed milk, ice cream, and mochi. This was the best 5 mochi balls that I've ever had!

Classic. Did you even go to North Shore if you didn't go to Matsumoto? For about four dollars, you can get a nice cool classic shaved ice. They definitely don't skimp on the syrup.My kids are rainbow lovers. I loved the mochi.I wish there was a better set up to eat other than the sticky picnic tables with flies all around.

Hands down, the best shave ice I've ever had! The texture was unbelievably soft and fluffy. I went with mango, watermelon, and blue pineapple. I originally picked blue pineapple just for the aesthetic, but it ended up being the best flavor in the mix!The portion was generous, and even with the heat, it held up well without turning into a syrupy mess too quickly. The line was long (because it's that good), but service was quick and efficient. Definitely worth the hype! It's in a cute little plaza with plenty of outdoor seating.

Touristy, but a must stop in the North Shore. Our favorite is the ichiban special as it comes in an edibleWaffle bowl, has ice cream, red bean, mochi, and your choice of shave ice flavor. The lines can get very long during peak season. Parking is in lot in the rear. Casual. Outside seating. Please come and create your own experience.

Popular spot with line that moves fast. Cool to see shaved ice being made in front of you right after you pay.I got green tea, strawberry, lilikoi for my shaved ice flavors with red bean, mochi, and condensed milk toppings.Green tea tastes like matcha so red bean and mochi and condensed milk complimented the flavor well. Strawberry went well with green tea matcha flavor also.Big size, refreshing in the hot weather, and good price. I'd definitely come back and either get something creamy with red bean again or fruity refreshing flavors depending on what I crave.

Matsumoto Shave Ice has some of the most delicious and affordable shave ice in Oahu!They have so many different flavors and prices are under $5 for both small and large. My favorite flavors are the lychee, guava, and banana cream. Definitely add ice cream to your shave ice- it makes a huge difference! Line can be brutally long, but it gives you plenty of time to figure out what you want to order before you get to the front. There's some outdoor seating at picnics tables and benches where you can enjoy your dessert.

Absolutely delicious. I'm not a shave ice expert but the shave ice was delicious. I got the Matsumoto with condensed milk which was really quite tasty. I never would have guessed that would be a good combination.

We come here when we are on this side of the island. Is it my favorite shave ice place? No. The ice is not as "soft" as other places, but the syrups are great. The line can look long, but it moves fast. Keep in mind that it does get busy though.There is outdoor seating where you can sit under the shade but the mosquitos have a feast, so bring the bug repellent!

We got lucky and found parking behind the shops. They had a lot of different shirts and souvenirs to choose from, plus plenty of sizes. I got in line for shave ice and we helped fairly quickly. Condensed milk and mochi toppings were delicious! Next time I think I'll ask for double mochi...

For the speed, price, and deliciousness, this is an easy 5/5 stars. There is something about shaved ice in Hawaii. How do they get the ice so freaking fluffy?! It's like magic! A large is only $0.50 more expensive so you know that's what I got. And it was a LOT of shaved ice. I was also so impressed by the pure efficiency of Matsumotos. The line can get long, but it moves insanely fast. The workers move quick! I ended up ordering the Tropical (Lilikoi, Guava, Mango) and I loved it! Truly all the flavors of Hawaii. The syrups are done so well here. They are not sickly sweet and don't taste artificial. My only gripe would be that some of the syrup doesn't get into the center of the shaved ice, so it's a bit naked there. And try to eat a bit fast! As it melts, you get a pool of syrup at the end and it can get quite sweet.Overall, ILY MATSUMOTOS! I'd definitely come back.
