This is the workshop and showroom for Martin and MacArthur. After ordering a ring online and it being the wrong size, I had to deal with them for the exchange. Amazing customer service, I would HIGHLY recommend others to check out this company. My story is below:I was in Hawaii back in April with a high school band that I work with on a Spring Break trip and tour. After we sent the kids home, my fiance and I stayed with some local friends for a few days, and when the subject of wedding rings came up, they told us to check out this place.I am so glad they did, this store is gorgeous, the Koa wood stuff is amazing. We walked in, and nearly immediately Anthony was at our service. Anthony was awesome! I looked at a Koa Wood Eternity Ring, but since I still wanted to check out a few other options, I did not buy it that day,After looking at a few other ideas and researching rings in general, I decided I did in fact want the Koa Wood ring, but I did not remember what size I wore. I got sized in a local San Jose jewelry store, and ordered the Koa Wood ring online. It came fast and secure, it was at my house in California, from Hawaii, in two days. Amazing. Unfortunately, due to my own mistake I ordered the wrong size ring. So, I contacted them about exchanging it. I had a GREAT experience with their customer service, and after sending the first ring back, they sent the correct size out, again, in only a couple days.I HIGHLY recommend this store to anyone looking at this style of ring, or any other of their gorgeous, super interesting Koa Wood items. I have had one of the best costumer service experiences, both at the original store and the warehouse that did the exchange.Thank you, Martin and MacArthur, for being wonderful people with awesome products!

Bought a milo ukulele from Michael Tam made by luthier Keith Maile. Not only do I buy my koa goodies from M&M but now this superb, one of a kine Milo wood ukulele. Michael and his staff made this transaction so seemless all the way to a timely delivery by Fed Ex. Mahalo Rene and Natalie for your kokua and your true spirit of Aloha to a homesick local girl all the way in California. If you want excellent Hawaiian crafted gifts, shop here at Martin and MacArthur. You will not be disapointed...I promise

Often, fancy stores with high prices fail in follow-up service. Not this store! I bought a koa iPhone cover for my best friend's birthday. (She grew up in Hawaii but lives in Utah now.) She LOVED this gift but accidentally dropped it, and it cracked. She was sick though needn't have been. After ascertaining through emailed pictures that the artists could fix it, she mailed the parts to them. Within a few weeks (maybe less), the repairs were done. The repaired cover is on its way back to her now!All is well.

Every time I visit Honolulu, I walk into this shop. I love all the stuff in this place. The problem is it's very expensive. I would love to buy some of the Koa wood items, but I just can't justify spending that much money, so I stick to smaller items when I make purchases here. They have a lot of nice photographic prints that are fairly reasonable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

EWW! Recently sold-The new owners do not carry on the tradition. They buy cheap goods and try to sell at M&M prices. Quality is now terrible, but they bought the legacy of M&M and feel they can do what they want. DO NOT BUY from this store! They have fired nearly all the wood staff because they are buying from the orient and passing it off as local. BEWARE.

Who would have thought there would be a hidden treasure of ancient Hawaiian koa wood products in lower Kalihi: Well I found it! You have to see this humongous building that almost blends in with the environment and is almost a block long on Kahai Street. I was met by sales manager Kim who greeted me at the entrance on the Waikiki side of the building. I was interested in koa rocking chairs and I had come to the source. Kim graciously led me up a flight of stairs above the huge workshop to a surprisingly huge showroom of the most beautiful Hawaiian koa furniture all handmade from acacia koa harvested from the Big Island that these eyes have ever seen. Awesome is a good word for this experience. Kim introduced me to Mike the owner. Wow. This showroom was made for local people, in my opinion; just truly beautiful pieces that pleases the senses of being surrounded by Hawaiian koa fashioned with the mana of hands gifted to work the trees into heirloom pieces. Aloha is a good word for this.Mahalo to Mike in highlighting the beauty of raw Hawaiian koa and the finished piece and especially expressing his respect to the master woodcrafters who pride themselves with starting each piece respectively from beginning to finish. Hoomau is good.Mahalo nui loa.

I bought a set of 5 coasters and within 90 days they swelled and the surfaces are pealing away on 4!. At $15 a piece... they should last well over 1 season. They're so warped I can't place glasses on them anymore.

We really saved to buy our koa furniture (entry table, TV console, dining room hutch, display cabinet) from Martin and MacArthur. We could only afford one piece at a time because it's pretty pricey. I get goose bumps everytime I look at my furniture. The curly koa, the clean and classic lines and the craftsmanship are unparalleled. It's not just furniture that you get tired of and throw away. These are heirlooms that can be passed on for generations to come Simon, the co-owner is so knowledgeable and kind. I'm still saving money for a chow table. This is my second review, one year later. I was so blessed to select the actual pieces (rockers, arms, seat, and slat backs) for my curly koa rocking chair. It's truly the most gorgeous chair ever. The koa is alive. It changes colors depending on the light. It's also an ergonomically functional chair which gives superior back support. When you rock, you glide and it's very relaxing. I see myself rocking my granddaughter in this chair in two much. Jesse, the manager at the Ala Moana location was very helpful. Thanks to the craftsmen toofor the piece of art.

Bought a carving of the Hawaiian Islands, they send me the wrong one, which is significantly cheaper. Been asking for a return label for four months, and they still can't send me one. Most companies will send you the right item first, and have you return the wrong one. They can't even maintain an email conversation. Just awful customer service.
