Maple Garden Restaurant

Maple Garden is a quaint little spot near UH serving up solid dishes. We have been coming here for years and things have been a little rough since Covid, but the owner Richard is pulling double duty now, running the front of house when he can and cooking in the back. His cooking is great! But we spoke to him for a bit and he shared it's been hard to find a good cook, so if you know any experienced ones, send em his way!The menu is extensive. But I always go for the 2 choice lunch special. I had the black bean shrimp and sweet sour pork with fried rice (extra charge). The plate came out HOT, and you get hot sour soup with your lunch. Pretty good deal!The restaurant is a little dark since there aren't really any windows, but tables are clean. Service was quick. Go support this little neighborhood joint!

So happy to find another Chinese restaurant offer vegetarian menu which help make the order easier. They have variety and yummy vegetarian options. Very tasty and will definitely come back again. I make to go order which is better to eat at home with bright environment.

We used to be regulars at Maple Garden for their Chinese buffet, until their cook left some 10+ years ago. In 2024, my nephew chose Maple Garden to celebrate his birthday. They no longer have the buffet, so we ordered off the menu. While few were seated at the tables, they had a steady flow of takeout. When you arrive, there is plenty of free parking and if the parking lot is full, you can park on the street. This was my first time there. The food is amazing as we had so many dishes. Their service was really great, the staff were friendly and accommodating. They have his huge tv if you want to do any presentations. Will definitely be back again! Thank you Maple Garden!

Service was great. Food was better. Nice restaurant! Richard was our server and we think might be the owner. He does nice work!Food was brought out in a timely manor. Spring rolls better than NYC Chinatown and that's saying something. Vegetable fried rice was moist and very flavorful. Sweet and sour chicken also delicious. Was recommended by a guy at our condo pool! Thanks Mayor Mike!

We haven't been here in SO LONG but it was just as good as ever! The prices were pretty reasonable for the quantity of food you get too. A lot of the food we ordered had just a bit of char on some of it from the hot wok, making the food taste really, really good.Ordered a lot of food for 3 people but everything was excellent! House fried noodles were the thin kind I like, not greasy, with pork, vegetables and shrimp too. We also got crispy fried green beans with pork, sweet sour shrimp, black mushrooms with tender bamboo shoots, Shanghai rice cakes (YUM!), green onion pancakes all for $88. 6 items for under $100? Unheard of these days...Free parking outside the restaurant, and the best thing? Really, really good food .

I haven't been here since my college days a long time ago so was excited to come here for a large group event where we took up the entire restaurant. i had a 10 course chinese meal. I parked at First Hawaiian Bank on a Sunday, i was told you can park at the bank. A sign said parking was $5 on Sundays, there is also free street parking nearby on Sundays. I had honey walnut shrimp, ginger chicken, roast duck, hot sour soup, fried oysters, fish w tofu, spicy green bean dish, Noodles, beef brocolli type dish, fried rice and almond float. The food was great, it wasn't the best chinese food i've eaten but decent. For example their noodle dish seemed lacking with ingredients and their almond float was just made from a mix w no almond taste. Everything tasted decent and it was a nice restaurant to relax and talk story. I give it 4 stars because it's good but not the best i've had. It's a nice place to eat and I'd recommend it if in the area.

The food is so tasty. I wish the buffet would start up again, but if people don't start patronizing the restaurant, we'll lose another great restaurant! It's one of my favorites and will drive from Kaneohe just to eat there!

Good food, great service. We were in the crowded Waikiki tourist area and wanted something away from it. Most places close by 9 pm, so when we started looking for places Indian or Chinese , this place came up.We had green beans, spicy eggplant with tofu , cashew chicken and garlic pork. All items were great tasting. I'd recommend this place!
