My nephew's son, Royce performed in a play here! " Freaky Friday" he was the youngest of the cast! Parking was a breeze, clean bathrooms, seating arrangement with great view! The acoustics was perfect!..We truly enjoyed 3 hours of pure entertainment. The cast was a joy to watch!Would love to see more art performances!

Located on the grounds of St. Louis and Chaminade campuses.Comfortable seats, enough legroom and subtle AC so no light sweater was needed for the concert we attended. Acoustics were good and because no tickets for it, it left many of the audience standing as it was a packed house.Luckily for a 4 pm performance there was some shade on the outdoor stairs and a canopied area with some benches to wait until the doors were opened.Although we didn't have center seats since it was first come first served the view even at the end of a row was fine.Parking can be a challenge unless you come an hour early to snag a close by stall.

Being an alumni of this school, I might be a little biased. Great, cozy theatre with great stage and lighting. We came to see the Christmas play and our whole family enjoyed Mamiya Theatre. Lots of parking and centrally located in Kaimuki. Great place to come and see a play.

This review is for the Sacred Hearts production of Mary Poppins. SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS! Seriously it was one of the most professional productions I've seen performed by high school actors and actresses. Acting was authentic, singing and dancing was wonderful and timing perfect! The sets and lighting was elaborate with Mary Poppins flying through the air. Lead performers were high school, intermediate and elementary school students with the youngest being an 8 year old from Kamiloiki. We were captured from opening until closing. Get your tickets now asim sure it will be a sold out show!

Located on the grounds of the Saint Louis High School/Chaminade University campus in Honolulu, the Mamiya Theater is an adequate venue for theatrical performances such as "Sister Act".I attended this musical which had prerecorded music and student actors from Sacred Hearts Academy and Saint Louis High School. The audience was mainly the families of the performers and alumni of Sacred Hearts with their friends and relatives. The venue is a traditional theater with good air conditioning, great lighting, and free parking. There was a complimentary valet service even though there is a new parking structure on the school grounds. My mom and her friend requested that I use the valet for the convenience. At 80+ years old, our kupuna's safety is important. Walking in the dark on an incline is sometimes an issue.Inside the theater, there is no middle aisle. The seats are not stadium seating, so if there's a tall person in front of you... just sit to the side. There are only 3 stalls in the women's restroom, so plan accordingly. There were no elevators, so please use the handrails when going up and down the stairs.Overall, this is a clean theater with great acoustics and some surprise special effects! Singers and actors wore cordless microphones. Backdrops were clever projections of scenery onto a flat, plain surface! We're looking forward to next year's showcase of young talent! Thanks to the management of the Mamiya Theater for allowing us to enjoy the performing arts here!

I went here for a spring graduation mass. The parking can be a little tricky and you need to read the curb/signs carefully because St. Louis school share the campus parking. As you drive up the hill, there will be two lanes - left to go straight and right to turn into the parking lot. There are signs to Mamiya Theatre which was very helpful. A couple of students were outside and provided directions to the theatre as well. That was a time saver!! They are very friendly and helpful. Thanks, Chaminade!I was happily surprised that there was A/C :) The seats were comfortable. The lighting would be great for a performance but for mass it was difficult to see the words and follow the program. The speakers were perfect and clear - no complaints here! The program flowed very smooth and organized. I would love to see future performances here and update my review :)

I came to Mamiya to attend the nutcracker performance performed by Hawaii Ballet's junior group and Page dance school. Aside from it being a great performance (I love the nutcracker), Mamiya theater is a great venue for the most part. Parking is pretty plentiful around chaminade and St. Louis schools, but it is a hilly campus, so be prepared to walk up and down stairs if you aren't lucky enough to get a spot in the front. We used the restrooms outside the theater and it is obvious that this is a school campus theater. It's pretty intimate, not too large and no bad seats. I liked that this performance of the nutcracker included some nice snow fall special effects, but didn't like the fact that the music was recorded.... I guess I've been spoiled with live performances of Tchaikovsky.

I've been to this theatre MANY times both as a performer as well as an audience member. I like that there aren't really any bad seats as they are slightly inclined enough that the person in front is not blocking your view. Remember to take a jacket as the theatre can get cold during performances. Parking can be a little tricky, but I have my secret spot. If I write about it, I might be giving away the big secret so I won't, but if you REALLY want to know, shoot me a message and I'll reveal the best place to park. He he he...
