The place to go in Makiki...How do you rate a place that gives you free parking so you don't have to search and run in and feed the meters...thankful. Sure this village is quite dated and probably needs updating in some ways but it's home to several foodie biz like Subway, Pizza Hut, Peppa's Korean BBQ, Sushi Man, Village Market and services from Fantastic Sams, Makiki Nails, and so much more even L&L Hawaiian BBQ coming soon is exciting. It's not a place that I do frequent in the past but visiting here was nice and convenient as this visit was to Peppa's Korean BBQ and had the easiest time finding parking though it is a one way entry from Wilder Ave right beside the huge sign and you exit on Liholiho St which is a two way street so the convenience is definitely there...come support local and see what's here.Thank you!

I've been coming to this shopping complex called - Makiki Shopping Village for years, as I come here mainly to get my hair cut at Fantastic Sams.By far, not the fanciest shopping complex, but I guess if you live close by this shopping complex, I can see the convenience, and hopefully, there's a business that will meet your needs. If I can recall correctly, I saw the following businesses at this shopping complex :1. Fantastic Sams 2. Subway Sandwich 3. Peppa's Korean B.B.Q4. $5 Bento5. Pizza Hut6. Paula's Sports Cards Etc.7. Sammies Hot Hoagies8. Kay Laundry9. Vintage Wine Cellar10. Vintage Wine Vault11. Sushi Man12. Makiki Nails13. First Hawaiian Bank 24-Hour ATM14. Village MarketFor sure, it's easy to find a food business here, but aside from that, hopefully, you'll find something here that will meet your needs!

I come here every so often to grab lunch or dinner. It's home to Peppa's, Subway, Sushi Man, Pizza Hut, Village Market, Vintage Wine Cellar and Fantastic Sams. Their newest tenant is $5 Bento Box. I was so happy to see them here and had to try them out. The other three places that I frequent are Subway, Peppa's and Pizza Hut. They have a good mix of food here to choose from. Too bad Sure Shot Cafe closed up. They have a decent amount of parking spaces, but it's really tight. It's one way in and one way out. You enter on Wilder Ave. and exit on Liholiho St. Sometimes, when I'm exiting some idiot will try to come in on Liholiho and there's no room to get in.

This place is a small, but convenient mall in the heart of Makiki. My favorite place here is Peppa's Korean BBQ. For some reason I can't get enough of their BBQ Chicken plate. The portion size is generous for what you pay for. For $11 you get 3 large pieces of chicken, two large scoops of rice, and 4 delicious sides. Parking can be a bit tight during peak hours. On the plus side you can cool down from the heat and the spicy Korean food with a slushy bubble drink from Bubble Up. Besides these places there are also several other businesses including a card shop, a Subway Sandwiches, a sushi place, hair salon, laundry mat, local plate lunch place, Pizza Hut, and more.

The only redeemable landmarks in this area are (1) the mini mart, which is pricey but convenient if you live in the community and need to pick up something, (2) Sure Shot Cafe because cafes are timeless, and (3) the ATM Machine. The problem with the mini mart prices is that it is also about a block or two away fromTimes, Foodland, and Safeway where you have the benefit of variety and competitive pricing. The area is kept fairly clean but of course there are people in the community who don't appreciate it and don't care for this area as well as they should. There's a cute little liquor shop downstairs that I don't feel receives enough attention. They have variety AND very knowledgable staff but they are hidden in he bowels of this shopping center. There's also 2 salons, a card shop, and a handful of eateries that I would not recommend to anyone. This place is in desperate need of a facelift.

This is a great little neighborhood cluster of shops: coffee, food, wine and a convenience store.I'm most often here to hit up Sure Shot Cafe for a quick in and out espresso. I've been coming here for over 25 years back when I lived up the street during UH days. Now I live a bit further away. Still, when I am in town and in need of an energy jolt (I don't do those newfangled energy drink things) I'm happy to stop by the Village shops to get coffee. Peppa's is an old stand by Korean plate and Makiki Inn has tons of plate lunch choices. Pizza Hut is here also.I was talking to some high school kids down here and they were complaining that the convenience store owner watches them like a hawk to make sure they don't steal anything. Guess some other kids must have purloined some stuff before.

This place needs a major renovation. Its in the cut of Honolulu makai of Roosevelt High School and Makiki park. The parking is straight up terrible! There's some good food options for such a small shopping village like Pepas, Pizza Hut, TCBY, Subway, and a food pantry along with other miscellaneous other stuff. One star because it definitely needs to be renovated.
