Great community park! It has so much to offer:Kids playground Work Out area for the adultsTennis Court Basketball CourtBaseball size field (nice to practice soccer or football) Volleyball court (bring your own volleyball net) The bathrooms are clean well-maintained and near the playground. Bring your own soap or hand sanitizer. There are ample trash cans and seating areas. There is a water fountain near the playground. There is a nice amount of trees for shade. There is street parking and it has its own lot. There is a small community center that offers different classes. In the summertime, they offer a summer fun program. Overall, it's a great park to hang out, play, and work out.

Pretty busy / active park most of the time. Restrooms and water fountains are maintained / working. People frequently walk and play with their dogs here. Lots of room to play football, soccer, baseball or fly a kite. Pretty good breeze most days. Ask a good a lot to watch fireworks on New Years Eve.

This park was beautiful, neat, clean, and had a wonderful view. My doggy loved it here with all its open space and fresh cut grass. Great spot for watching sunsets, playing baseball or just relaxing on a nice sunny day. The only reason i did not give it five stars was because of the lack of benches and because there was no grilling area for big family/friend gatherings.

It really kills me that the mango tree in our yard is taller than me, especially given we were born at the same time. I also have yet to bear fruit. But that's exactly the random train of thought that living in a one-playground town like Makakilo will provide. There's simply not much to do here, high in the hills on Oahu's leeward side, except chill out in the yard and think of things like tropical fruit and, perhaps, what gecko noises might truly mean. Sure, you could pass the time by stalking the local ice cream truck, recognizable from that jingling tune that's half creepy (I hate you, Stephen King). Or, if it's a Sunday afternoon, you could weasel in with the neighbors for a barbecue in a nearby cul-de-sac. Makakilo Community Park is the heart of the town, with its basketball and tennis courts, activities center, wide open field and a playground that seems to be updated every few years. For outsiders, however, it's just another community park with one exception: the amazing nighttime views, from Kapolei to Pearl Harbor to Diamond Head, visible from nearby; it's like a sucker punch to the face.

Y365C #002/365Why didn't I think of taking my almost 3 yr old & almost 2 yr old here earlier?!!! Perfect size playground for younger kids, the highlight of the day was the fact that it was not crowded at all on a Sunday (we were here during the afternoon after lunch time).-Playground area has 3 benches-Workout area with various pull up bars, sit up station, those type of workout ish..-Basketball court-Open Field (didn't get that far, my sole purpose was to entertain the lil' ones)Overall, perfect place to have your lil' one(s) burn off energy, enough to put a smile on their face ;)The reason for 4 stars, cleanliness of restrooms (I'm assuming this is an older park), in need of 1 or 2 picnic tables around the play area (but the benches do the job, its a lil' uncomfortable if you want to bring a meal or something to eat).I will be back here more often since its so close to home.
