Makaha Towers was incredible - a gated community that is simply breathtaking to drive through on your way home each day. Amazing! Stay here!

Great place for a first date with a new girlfriend and well just really good food super service. Luckily she knew somebody there and they came out and help us pick some of the items out but I would always recommend this place especially if you're taking a girl out it's nice. Got a nice

Incredible to see. Would have to go on a long journey around the island to get out there however once there you can't do much unless invited into their gated community, setup at the condo apartments or visiting the golf resort. It's a little tricky to get a good view of the valley. There are amazing hikes around but for a family with young kids or elderly, then basically what I featured in the photos and mentioned above are the best options to enjoy the area.Again, easily one of the prettiest landscapes I've seen, but Hawaii has many similar that has more options for families

This course must have been great when first opened. Great layout. Challenging holes. Wonderful tree plantings along the fairways. Unfortunately, course went bankrupt in 2020 we were told so maintenance is lacking. Greens very inconsistent. All in all we really enjoyed the round and the price was reasonable. Played in just over 3 hours which was nice. Would play again. Hopefully new owners will be able to bring some maintenance back.

So on vacation and staying in Makaha valley and playing a round of golf was something debating on and was an expensive trip as is and tried to save where I can. For $60 this was a steal as I'm concerned plus an extra 20$ they accommodated my wife and daughter and let them join me. So here's my take Pros: 1) THE VIEWS AND I MEAN " THE VIEWS" are breath taking. I was in awe with the views, there's roosters peacocks and other birds on the course that made it unique. The views of the ocean on the 17th hole was beautiful and peaceful. The views of Makaha valley and the mountains make you feel like your in Jurassic park the views alone deserve 5 stars that's just me. 2) The fairways and tee boxes where in pretty good shape and were well kept. 3) staff was friendly and accommodating 4) the course played true and if your a golfer who shoots between 89-94, shot "92" , this course is for you. It's simple and very forgiving which is a plus but not without a couple challenging holes to test your skills for example hole 18 par 5 was fun and challenging. 5) staff said everything rolls towards the ocean and they were right and it made the greens easier to navigate6) $60 , for hawaii golf this is a steal and by far the best views you'll get on the island hands down!!! Every course was 145$ and more and for me staying in Makaha valley the Disney course at 200 $ was the closes at 30 mins away so HUGE thumbs up from me7) I was notified of some cons on the course and told me they just got new ownership and major upgrades were on the way but if the ownership gets these cons taken care of which is not too big then this course will be the best In Hawaii second to none. Now the CONS ( reasons why it didn't get 5 stars ) pros definitely helped get it to 4 stars1) the cart paths were really bad and I mean atrocious, but I was told before hand and because of Covid etc I can understand the lack of maintenance and with new ownership this is an easy fix . They let you use the fairways all the way up near the greens to avoid cart path which was nice...2) the greens were pretty aweful for the most part , maybe 5 greens were in good enough shape the rest were covered in weeds but cut short and putting was difficult but once you get past the first few in the front 9 back end is easy to navigate but with new ownership I can tell some of the good greens were kicking in and should be an easy fix for them. Fairways and tee boxes were great so made it easy to forgive 3) carts are old get the job done but could use an upgrade and a monitor for course trackingAnd that's about it for cons the greens can be a deal breaker if your uptight and picky but if you look at the pros I gave and just enjoy the relaxation of golf and the views the cons are easy to put aside. This course can be top 5 in hawaii or 20 in the country if the cons are taken care of and I've played a lot of golf in so cal for $60 and even the best public course like in my hometown of Thousand Oaks " Los Robles " the course is the best for a public but even tho the greens were bad in Makaha the great stat and the views and the pros make it an amazing choice for your vacation golf!!!

First time playing here and pretty fun course. I expected it to be flat and hot but it had a variety of hills and dips that made it interesting. I don't give 5 stars because the cart paths were bus up. Felt like 4x4 a action. Some of the steep paths you essentially slide down with the brakes locked up. Also there were a lot of weeds on the greens but mowed down short. However the ball does roll differently on weeds vs grass. It sorta reminds me of Hawaii Country Club but not as bad. The ground in general was kinda hard, divots were shallow. However it looked pretty green all over. I appreciated the drive thru window at hole 10 to get drinks or snacks. We could drive the cart to our car after the game to unload. I'd definitely golf here again on a weekday for $49

Been here twice now and I must say, this place is gonna be amazing after the new owners gets done with the renovation. It's like looking at an old mansion with good bones that just needs some Tender Love & Care lol. It has Great views of the ocean and lots of hills and valleys to lose your golf balls in. Staff are very friendly and the food is awesome.

I'm kind of of crushed to give this review, because Makaha Valley CC (Makaha East) is one of my favorite courses on the island. I played here in May of 2019 for the first time in almost 10 years. I loved it so much that I played a few more times in 2019. This past weekend I returned for the first time in 2020. I understand the intense economic strain that local golf courses are under, given the pandemic, but the level of deterioration in this golf course was shocking. Bunkers lacking sand, weeds everywhere. The demarcation between rough and fairway is tough to determine on some holes. Greens and tee boxes are uneven and have a lot of weed growth. The cart paths have essentially been unusable for several years, but that could be forgiven in the past. Now with the decline in quality of other facets of the course, this just adds to it.Service is great with very attentive staff. Scenery is second to none on the island.....it just a shame the overall condition has declined so much. You'll pay more elsewhere, particularly on the weekend....but it will be a better experience for the $$$ spent.

Love this course for the price, availability, friendliness of staff, and views. The greens are hit or miss. Great place to learn the game. Not sure if the driving range is open. You can call or email your tee times.

This place. Isntt set up with ambiance in mind however, if your looking for a totally delicious breakfast then when in Mākaha come up the hill and join the fun staff, they look forward to serving you a fresh cup of coffee or a delicious Mojito or maybe a wonderful Baileys, Frangelica. Coffee and whipped cream with your breakfast or lunch. The bar is open and the 19 th green is too. Did I mention the appetizers are so good we all decided to get some and split them. There wasn't one that was a miss, so I'll see you up on Makaha Valley Road there with my friends again soon. Tell the bartender hi from Elisa & Amy

They need to pave the cart paths, most of the greens have so much weeds, it's not smooth the putting greens, $63.00 for club play ... the Workers are nice and helpful but the course is not worth 63.00 for the round... Not worth the drive especially when gas is so expensive these days...
