One thing that makes this beach special....is the SAND. Did you know that truck loads of sand has been deposited on Waikiki beach that was taken from the West side? Now you know. Early mornings on the clean blue water. Epic sunsets. No suntan lotion feel or taste in the water here. Not the best in terms of wave riding except for Maili point. Be aware of certain reef areas on the shoreline. Check with the water safety officers (lifeguards) on duty. Canoe races are held here once a year. Locals camp here, have huge birthday parties, graduation parties, and wedding parties too. Only hazard, be mindful of house-less occupants in the area. Other than that, make sure you have your camera ready for posing on one of the best beaches in Hawaii nei.

Love, love, love this place. Directly across from a great brunch place, it's clean, clear water, and generally pretty open with not a lot of people. Definitely in my top 2 favorite places on the island so far.

Had the best time with a buddy last time the swells were on the rise. Big thx to the Brzezowski's up in Wahiawa for the company to the beach park.

When driving along the Leeward coast of Oahu, it's hard not to marvel at the beauty of the mountains on your right, and the long stretches of ocean on your left. There are countless state and city parks on this side of the island, and one of our favorites is Maili Beach Park. It's a long green stretch of land with palms lining the coast. Parking is ample with various entrances into each lot. They have restroom facilities as well as outdoor exercise equipment. The grass areas are big and flat, perfect for outdoor gatherings to set up tents and room to play. The beach areas here are mostly rocky, not the best for swimming. Be sure to stop here to watch the sunset!

Great beach. Just be careful because it is pretty rough and the waves and solid. This is definitely more of a surfing spot if anything. Would not recommend bringing kids here.

There's plenty of parking at this beautiful beach area. Whether you are looking for a grassy field for a picnic or plenty of sand for working on your tan, you'll find it here. Just be aware that many of the grassy areas have sticker plants, so I recommend bringing chairs or towels to spread on the ground before sitting. The sunset here was spectacular and gave us an unobstructed view of the water. They have a bathroom area right by the lifeguard tower and beach shower. Although they don't have paper towels after washing your hands, the stall doors work and there's plenty of toilet paper in the locked dispensers. The area seems to be pretty well patrolled by security, but the lifeguard did warn us that there was a known thief lounging on the ground nearby, so we should be watchful over our belongings. (We saw him ride away on his bike after his nap.)

Maili Beach Park is a long stretch of beach along Farrington Highway. It actually starts opposite of Kakalena Street and ends on the opposite of St Johns Road.During the weekdays the beach is normally quiet with some people there for morning exercise at the outside gym or afternoon swims. The weekends are the busiest times because of the many event celebrations that are being held. Just this past Saturday on April 14, 2018 there were couple spots reserved for weddings, one spot reserved for a celebration of life, and several other spots reserved for birthday celebrations. I even heard some live music being performed at the beach while I was there on Saturday. The one restroom facility that I did visit while I was at Maili Beach Park on Saturday... I took notice that the toilet bowl was metal and there were no seat covers (best to squat if you got to go), there was toilet paper provided (just bring extra toilet paper in case the restroom stalls run out), and no paper towels for after washing hands. Maili Beach Park is a place where people go to relax and enjoy with family plus friends. Children playing in the sand or in the bounce house. Sometimes there will be a volleyball net set up for the family to play a game of volleyball. During football season there will be a team of young athletes practicing on the grassy area of the park.Take a journey down to the west side of Oahu, spend the day relaxing under the sun, and most of all enjoy the beautiful sunset. Don't forget to be aware of your surroundings and keep the beach park clean.5/100

Nice beach park to have a picnic with family, parties or even take your dog for a walk. The beach is located right there as well. Very clean and safe for children to swim. Lots of parking located in the front of the beach park.

Absolutely beautiful place to watch the sunset. And just a handful of folks there too.We brought our beach chairs and sat and enjoyed the tranquility of the beach. Snapped many pics before sunset with a couple of palm trees. Postcard worth pictures. What a find!

Town side beaches are normally overpopulated with tourist. Yes it's a far drive for most people to go to Maili Beach Park. But the drive is totally worth it. What I love about this beach is the amount of parking available, it's rarely crowded so you'll enjoy a sense of tranquility here and there's a charcoal disposal pit for those BBQing. My fiance and I love coming out to this side. We normally bring our grill so we can throw some steaks on the grill and just enjoy the quietness and listen to the waves crashing. The beauty of the mountains and sea from this side of the island is just breathtaking. The waves may be a little rough sometimes and there's a huge drop between the shallow and ocean deep level, so just be careful when playing in the water :) There's also one side of the beach that caters to those looking for good waves to catch.
