We are very limited in Hawaii Kai for dining options but wake up Maile's Thai Bistro. Although your food is usually mostly good; your staff is sooooo lacking in customer service skills. Again we had the same server (a young surfer looking blonde guy) and he again messed up our order. He fails to consistently check your water glass and has to be reminded that you've ordered cola's. He apologizes but does nothing to compensate for his constant mistakes. Instead he's busy hanging out with other staff members or walking out of the kitchen chewing which seems totally unprofessional for a server. Is Maile's policy to just get a warm body to fill its quota of servers? I hear no one wants to work anymore and it's hard to get employees. Well, I'm tired of going out to eat and dealing with this kind of service. For the future when this young man receives NO TIP I hope he realizes that a tip is not a given but a compliment for GOOD SERVICE. Do him a favor and train him how to be a waiter. Your business is suffering because of your lack of investment in your staff. Otherwise, just keep turning those tables into a "TO GO" business.

Absolutely terrible experience at Maile's. I ordered takeout and specifically requested beef loco moco because I do not eat pork. What I received was blatantly ground pork (or chicken) with chunks of spam. When I called to address the issue, the person on the phone not only refused to acknowledge the mistake but argued with me, claiming it was beef--even though it was white. Since when is beef white? She demanded that I bring it back in person so she could "inspect it," insisting the kitchen aunties swore it was beef. I explained it was too late to drive back because I have kids to put to bed, but she refused to offer any other resolution--not even allowing me to send a photo for proof. Her tone was rude, argumentative, and dismissive, making an already frustrating situation even worse.As if that wasn't bad enough, the curry I ordered was gelatinous and separated, like it had been sitting out all day. For $50, I expected decent food and at least a shred of customer service. Instead, I got disgusting food, a wrong order, and a staff that clearly doesn't care about their customers. This place has gone completely downhill, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values quality and respect.

Nice roomy restaurant. My colleague and I both ordered curry and shared a Thai salad. My red curry was awesome as was my colleague's yellow curry. The Thai salad was especially awesome. Service was fast, courteous, and efficient. Would love to come back here again!

Hanging out in the area, we decided to stop into Maile's Thai Bistro for lunch. We were warmly greeted and seated by the bartender/hostess Jaymie. Good Thai food is hard to find here on Oahu and I'm happy to say that Maile's Bistro has some of the best Thai food on the island. We ordered and enjoyed -Chicken pad Thai Spring rolls (crispy) Thai salad Mild yellow curry Sticky rice We could not get enough of these dishes! All of the dishes were flavorful, savory and made with fresh ingredients. Beautiful views, great service and delicious food, I'm a fan! I look forward to dining here again in the future.

I had an amazing experience at Maile's, and it was all thanks to our waiter Jack. From the moment we sat down, Jack was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He had this laid-back, surfer vibe that made the whole meal feel so chill and enjoyable. He was attentive without being overbearing, and his recommendations were spot on. The food came out quickly, and everything was perfect. Jack really made our dining experience special, and his positive energy definitely stood out. Can't wait to come back and hopefully get him as our server again I am a long-time Maile's customer, and I've always loved the food, but Jack gave me even more of a reason to keep coming back.

Main complaint: While food is decent, dishes are way overpriced and customer service on take outs is abysmal. No one answers the phone to take orders and orders are routinely missing items. Receipts aren't itemized so it's difficult to complain about a missing item when bringing back your order with receipt.
