Loved the food- definitely reminds me of the mom & pop plate lunch shops and not these types that are almost like fast food restaurants. This is authentically homemade with love type of food.. the cookies are awesome. They are so crunchy and tasty. You can tell that they're made from scratch with a lot of loving care. parking is difficult as it's street parking but I suggest maybe parking across the at the old Pahoa Chop Suey since they closed down. Service is friendly and very local style. Even though they make the food fresh, it comes out pretty quick. Location is so cute because it's a hole in the wall but very clean inside and well kept.. prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get and taste your normal plate comfort food.

Thanks to Yelp and fellow Yelpers Donna O. (Pics) and Paul C. (Reviews). I ventured out to find cookies from Lynn's Saimin & Cookie Shop. We found the place pretty easily with the help of Google maps. We were lucky to find street parking just a few steps from the shop. We walked inside the small delicatessen shop. Initially, all you see is the food in the window and a counter where you can order food. Prices were very reasonable, however, we were in search for the cookies. I quickly observed a person exit from a room with cookies in his hands. I wasn't sure we could enter the room. The man in front said I could enter as all the cookies were in the back. A treasure trove of cookies hid in the back. Chocolate chip, chocolate chip with macadamia nuts, cornflake cookies, peanut butter cookies were available today. No almond cookies. We picked up a tub of cookies containing peanut butter, cornflake and chocolate chip cookies mix for $16. Smaller ziploc bags were also available. We picked up one each. We tried each one and all cookies had a great crunch and taste. 4 out of 5 stars. The prices have gone up per past reviews. Considering the size of the tub of cookies, it seems on par with current cookie prices. I don't recall how much the ziploc bag of cookies cost. The store is local to the max. From the food display, menu choices, to the women and man who rang up our purchase. Support local.

Stopped by to try out their Tripe Stew plate. Saw some negative reviews about customer service which was totally opposite of my experience. Was greeted when we came in to the small shop. Was hoping for cookies...but found out that they're only baked on Saturdays and normally runs out by mid-week so we put in an order for pick up. Ordered a Tripe Stew plate and headed home. As you can see from my pic, the plate was packed. The tripe was tender and went with all the flavors of the stew. The mac salad was pretty good too. Huge scoop of rice which I couldn't finish. Will have to try their other dishes when I pick up my cookies next week.

This hole in the wall serves up some great grinds. This place stays busy with people walking in and out buying up all the cookies. I was craving tripe stew and my to go place no longer makes it. So a quick search on Yelp and this place popped up. Their tripe stew is ono. Came with rice and Mac salad.

I love to come to these old mom and pop shops like Lynn's because these shops were plentiful back in the day. And now there are very few left. When you go there parking is almost non existent, you gotta get lucky. The window in the front displays the okazu items for the day, which is not as plentiful a variety from most okazuyas. Their menu is basic local food including Hawaiian food. I ordered three items from the okazu section and was surprised that it came out to $3.50, cheap. I'm going to return and sample the Hawaiian plate or some tripe stew.

Omg - best find ever!Looking for good local food? Well you need to try this great little hole in the wall - plate lunch & cookie shop! They have laulau - tripe stew - chili hot dog - shoyu chicken - Kalua pig - chicken long rice - Kalbi ! Yes a little of this and a little of that AND they also make great yummy cookies BUT no saimin which is really ok!Do not let the outside deter your visit because this is a true hidden gem It is family owned and run and everyone friendly and helpful - it is cash only but their price is more than fare and food delishIt was close to closing time so they were out of laulau but we will be back for a 2 nd run of the menu - we got the tripe stew .... OMG broke the mouth awesomeness!Simple and good and no fillers just good ole tripe - onions- tomato sauce and perfect spices.Parking is very limited but worth the time and effort

I recently went to try their food for the first time. And I had the most disgusting experience before I even took a bite, I saw roaches in their food. It wasn't just 1, there were like 5 of them in there. It was super disgusting . I don't usually write reviews but I feel I had to. I wouldn't want roaches in my food. I didn't get a picture because I threw the food away as soon as I got it.
