I have been to this much beloved bento establishment and decided to pick up a bento after a Saturday morning run. I arrived at 7:30 am and walked in without realizing that they weren't open. Without hesitation, the woman on staff immediately and pleasantly alerted me to the situation. Then she kindly offered to prepare a bento for me if I didn't mind waiting a few minutes. Who does that? The Lunch Box shop did.I'm impressed by her business sense and notable superior customer service. A generous offer on a busy Saturday. I'm sure that I'll once again savor the delicious food from here, and definitely return for more sometime soon. But I'll check the hours of operation before visiting.This bento shop has scrumptious chicken bentos. Try it out; you'll love it.

Delicious!! Big portions! Mochiko chovken and Teri beef are super tasty. Redondo hot dog doesn't disappoint. A few edamame garnishes also. Packed & served nicely. Clean, quaint location. Plenty of options and varieties. Fair pricing!

Everything went well! The best mochiko chicken with a massive konbu musubi. Very consistent over the years. My airplane meal. Actually, I took half home.The sweetest counter staffer. She was so friendly and accommodating, too.I was there at 10:45 when there was no line.

Called in the order and actually brought it on the airplane. Only a few minutes from the airport. The food was amazing and mochiko chicken is as good as everyone says. I ate it cold and it was still delicious. Everyone on the plane was jealous!

Today was last day of school for the Keiki. So my co-workers and I decided to order take out . My co-worker suggested lunch Box located on Sand Island Access Rd .We ordered Bento #J it comes with Rice, Teri beef, spam, Salmon and Mochicko chicken with Edamame on top. It was very tasty and very filling . Looking at the bento first I thought it was very little . Once you start eating than it's actually filling. Prices are reasonable and service was okay . The cashier wasn't to friendly no thank you or whatsoever. This place also sell pre-made musubi , drinks and some bento already made . They recommend to order ahead of time because they make fresh chicken so you'll need to wait if you wanted a bento that they don't have already .Support local

Great place for a quick bite. If they aren't swamped with orders. But today was quick and easy. Ordered 6 plates and got to say give their hamburger steak a chance and make it a combo with their classic mochiko chicken.

Good spot to grab bentos for any occasion! If you need them on the weekend, make sure to pre-order couple days ahead so you can get all the bento options on the menu. The spot is also cash only and the atm outside wasn't cooperating with my card, so don't forget to grab ahead of time! The main attraction here is the amazing mochiko chicken. The flavor is unreal! Teri beef and fried noodles were ok, but mochiko chicken is the star!

My wife had read an article from 808 Lunch Wagon. It mentioned a number of locations with good hamburger steak. So both of us started looking at the Yelp reviews. I noticed a number of Yelpers I follow. Among them were Craig T, Paul C, and Auntie Nadine C. So I set the days agenda. First, get to the car wash, then off to Lunch Box to pick up lunch. Wife put in a take out order by phone. Note that this place is cash only. The order was ready when we got there. A mini hamburger steak and a mini pork eggplant. The hamburger steak was excellent. Homemade patty with an onion brown gravy. The eggplant fell short. My wife thought it was salty, as for me it was ok. It was ordered mild, but I think hot would have been better. Parking can be an issue. Big rigs frequently double park to pick up their lunch, so you have to be patient. Enjoy

Lunch box kitchen is still a great option to swing by to pick up cheap food before heading to the airport (where everything there is $$$$)! I love breakfast food, but in my haste to phone in an order, I accidentally ordered a spam, hot dog, and mochiko chicken bento. I usually don't like mochiko chicken, but it was delicious! I even packed ketchup with me for the plane ride, but I didn't need it because the mochiko chicken was super flavorful! I'll definitely remain torn in the future about ordering the bento again or going with the breakfast option!CASH ONLY!

Heard about Lunch Box Kitchen from the morning news. They're located right across the McKesson Building ( this strip mall has many wonderful restaurants). Parking along the front of the mall (very busy during lunch but good flow In and Out. Locally owned and operated. Owners and staff have a great system to get you taken care of quickly and efficiently. They were right about the Mochiko Chicken, whether you get the Mild or Spicy it's wonderfully flavored and delicious. The Musubi's are HUGE and tasty. When we asked why so BIG, they said they cater to Truck Drivers so they wanted to make sure they (the truck drivers) had enough to satisfy their hunger. This is a definite restaurant to buy lunch from. Totally Cravable food!
