Wow, at the KCC farmers market Saturday and noticed that the Luau Bombs were serving breakfast. Don't pass this by! Had the hash breakfast special and it was so good. Sausage fried rice, topped with hash and 2 fried eggs(easy over, perfect) and a lau lau of your choice. Can choose a vegetarian, pork or short rib. I had the short rib which was a tender boneless meat in a coconut rich sauce and covered in tender greens... so delicious. A must try!

Soooo Ono. Such an interesting but delicious version of a Laulau. It's like a Luau stuffed into a Laulau itself and the blend of flavors is amazing. I always swing by whenever I see them at the farmers market. Super filling and flavorful, and the prices are decent as well. Everything just melts in your mouth! Very yummy and fast service too :)

One word: interesting.Think of this as luau stuffed into a laulau but instead of being squid it's a good size piece of butterfish and slice of lap cheong AKA Chinese sausage (or various other fillings on offer). The taste? Interesting. The coconut milk adds a richness that when combined with the lap cheong, creates the flavor of mango. The butterfish adds powerful umami. The overall impression? Interesting. The coconut milk has coagulated, forming something that approximates wet bread or soft curds. The texture is unexpected and off-putting.About half the size of a typical laulau. $6 each with various fillings.Friendly, local service you expect from a farmer's market vendor. An interesting idea just not one that has been perfected yet.So yeah, interesting.

A frequent attendee to the Honolulu Farmer's Market at the Blaisdell Concert Hall introduced me to the most memorable lu'au bombs by Chef Whywheezy. These are little pockets of lu'au leaves filled with the most delectable middles. The first one I tried, at the recommendation of the Chef, was the corned beef and onions bomb infused with coconut cream. I was instantly hooked. While they are not large in size, they sure are packed with flavor and satisfaction. Their first week at the market was about a month ago. I have since returned for the beef short rib...the seafood and lemongrass...the mahi...the vegan kabotcha and Okinawan sweet potato. Love them all. Favorites to date are the corned beef and the vegan. This vendor has become a regular stop on my farmer's market circuit. Don't just take my word for it. Check them out at the Honolulu Farmers Market, Kailua Farmer's Market, Pearl ridge Farmer's Market or on their IG page @ luau_bombs. You will be happy you did!Protip: payment by cash only AND if the chef is there, by Venmo !

Luau Bombs has changed Saturday night dinner at home for me & the husband. I discovered them at the KCC farmers market. They had a vegan laulau , which is a rare fine. Took it home, steamed it up for dinner and now it's on the weekly menu. Last week I decided to try the fish laulau. I ordered the miso butterfish and lemon caper mahi. They usually have the butterfish, though the lemon caper mahi mahi was a unique flavor. For $6 each, they're quite affordable. They take cash or Venmo. They also have a stamp card. After 10 purchases, you get 1 laulau of your choice for free.

I got a fish luau bomb on 1/27/21. The luau leaves were not fully cooked so the leaves totally burned my mouth! Now I don't crave luau bombs anymore :-( In hindsight, I should've taken the bomb back to give the vendor a chance to rectify the situation but at the time I was busy socializing with a friend so I didn't think of it and it definitely would've spoiled the mood to return a partially eaten item.

Oh. My. Stars. The corned beef bomb blew my mind. What these little bombs lack in visual appeal they FAR make up for in taste. I beg of you, open a store so that I don't have to wait another week to enjoy another one.

Vegan laulau? Yah I was skeptical too. I figured, ok, let's give it a shot and bought two of their Kabocha & sweet potato laulau. Let's just say my husband and I made sure to go to the farmer's market the morning after to buy 11 more. Yah, they're THAT ono!

My husband loves the butterfish luau bombs! We usually will buy some during the Wednesday Farmer's Market at Blaisdell. There's also short rib, corned beef and mahi mahi varieties available. Recently have plates with rice available to really fill you up!
