A tiny hole in the wall place. Just a one person operation, all take out with a limited options. I always get the tuna or egg salad sandwiches. Just a perfectly simple sandwich on white or wheat crisp iceberg thin slice of crisp not soggy tomato that's it! Just like grandma used to make in my brown paper bag home lunch. Oh so good I believe it's 4.50. She often times makes it to order. Very friendly and kind service. Better than 7/11, Brug and the expensive sandwich place in Ala Moana food court. I was on the hunt for a great egg salad sandwich and this one did not disappoint! It hit the spot. The tuna equally yummmy! I'll have to try the ham and fried egg next. There's metered parking.

This tiny hole in the wall is owned by the sweetest woman with a lovely smile. She's not Louise, but everyone calls her Louise. (The previous owner was Louise.) She serves a limited selection of local favorites including mandoo, masubi, small bento and assorted sandwiches. The prices are the most reasonable you'll find in Honolulu. Tuna or egg salad sandwiches are only $4.25. I've been on a quest to find a good tuna sandwich like my grandmother used to make, and here it was. Fresh bread, creamy tuna, fresh lettuce and tomato. It wasn't fancy - just good. There is one table in the tiny shop. I sat and ate. I talked briefly with the owner. The place isn't upscale, but local and authentic. You'll be lucky to find street parking around the block. But, so worth the experience.

The owner is a hard working, solo local Asian woman. She operates from roughly 6am-5pm I believe.Update: I did buy food from there. Musubi was not my favorite. The rice was both mushy and crunchy at same time and spam portion so small but cheap price so not the most horrible I've had but nothing great.

I've walked and rode the bus past here tons of times on the way home. Everyone's most likely seen this place. It seems like it's been there forever and is one of those places that pique my curiosity. Dirty little hole in the wall joints. Not too sure of the history of the place, but now it's more of a small snack shop. They sell many things here, but one caught my eye. Mandoo. The wife loves mandoo and this place sold "homemade" frozen packs. Recently, I was riding an overly crowded stinky mcnasty dirty bus (yes, I *love* public transportation) and got off early right in front of Louise's to get some breathing room. "This is the day." I said to myself and walked in. The lady was sitting at a small table folding up mandoo as I walked in and quickly got up and waited behind the counter to see what I wanted.I pointed to the sign in the window. "The $8 one please." There's two different prices, I bought the lesser of the two. Something like 25 pieces for $8. It turns out to be quite a bit of food.I asked her a few questions and she gave me a few pointers on how to cook them including how to create a small vinegar/shoyu sauce. I have to say they came out really well! I'm usually not one for mandoo, but these were better than many restaurant ones. *pat on the back* They're definitely larger and taste better than the ones you'd buy at a grocery store. I only made half package and packed the rest back into the freezer for later.I'll definitely be going back to restock the mandoo reserves once they're depleted. The little joint fronts King Street, so most likely parking is in the lot at the rear of the building.

I just wanted to say the elephant ear dish isn't always available. Her dishes rotate. I never asked how the schedule goes.
