Loco Moco - Kapolei

I stopped by Loco Moco- Kapolei on my way home. I was craving Mochiko Chicken. It's like a hit or miss. It's either good or not good. I ordered a special combo plate. The nice guy said that it was cheaper than purchasing two plates. I ordered the sweet and sour Spareribs with white rice & Mac Salad for Hubby. I got the Mochiko Chicken on the side for me. They cook it while you wait. The restaurant is small but spacious enough that you some feel crowded. When the server brought me my order, it smelled sooooo good. I couldn't wait. I immediately grabbed a piece of chicken to eat right then. Seasoned perfectly, hot as ever. Just delicious. I truly believed that I had eaten all my Mochiko chicken on my drive home to the North Shore. There was 1 piece left for Zeus. Much to say, I will go back to order from Loco Moco-Kapolei again real soon.

First time this Loco Moco location. In general most of these locations are pretty decent. Ordered the Eggplant Stirfry with Chicken. Tasted ok but nothing memorable. The teriyaki sauce was very sweet. The chicken, vegetables and eggplant on par with my expectations for this kind of place. The Mac salad however was bland. Portioning was just average. Beautiful large Hawaiian mural on wall and nostalgic photos. Lots of seating. Seems pretty clean. Service was good. Cashier greeted me, said Thank you after paying, asked me if I wanted my soda now. Brought my takeout order to me while I sat waiting on one of the tables. If the Mac salad was good, I'd give it another star. Not sure if I'd return.

We found a BOGO free plate lunch deal for Loco Moco Drive Inn in Midweek and couldn't resist clipping it.We got the Pork Lau Lau and Mochiko Chicken Regular Plate. Both were decent plate lunches, and the BOGO deal made it even better.The Pork Lau Lau had the right amount of pork and salt. Sometimes other places make it too salty, but this one was just right and cooked perfectly.The Mochiko Chicken was a little overcooked, but still good.Each regular plate came with a regular mac salad and 2 cups of rice. Nothing fancy, but it worked.Overall, decent food and a great deal. We'll definitely be back!

**Beware of their coupon**! I normally go here because of their coupon but now it has changed. So now you have to order fries I wouldn't mind until I got my overcooked fries! Whatever you do DON'T get their house dressing! It's pretty much NOT dressing but clearly like water watered down dressing! Such a disappointment for me! Sorry to say I won't be coming here again!

Anyone who receives Midweek has probably seen the BOGO from this place. I even remember when it was in the Sunday restaurant section. It's been at least a year. Well, I finally took advantage of it (even though I actually have been cutting it out for a couple of months). And it really is a good deal. Unlike most of the people who had ordered lunch, I didn't. But I probably will next time. There were so many people who could just stroll in and pick up their food and leave. But the wait time wasn't too long. The food was piping hot (even after driving home to eat it). The pork cutlet was three pieces of cutlet. And the bento uses Spam , I really hate the cheaper luncheon meat). Not sure how they can keep doing this. Because most other places offer it when the restaurant is opening to introduce itself to the publicNot months and months later. Honestly my two plates were around 7.50 each.

Our go-to for local grindz....picked up 5 plates and used their B1G1F coupon found in the midweekMeat Jun & BBQ Chix comboGarlic chix & Furikake Fish comboHamburger steakChiliChix KatsuAs you can see in the photos, the portions are good size for the price. Each plate comes with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of mac salad. My boys didn't want mac salad, so they got rice instead.

Loco Moco has several locations on Oahu. Decent local food . This location had great service.

The food is good went this morning 11-7-23 I ordered the mini teriyaki steak with rice n Mac salad. The service is always pleasant the girls are so helpful. The ambiance is chill they have plenty of tables to eat inside. It's been a long time since I've been here but the food is still great tasting. I'm thankful to all local eateries that cook for me they really put out some quality food all the time. Next time I want to order onion rings.

The BOGO coupon in the midweek paper makes this place a bit worth it. Standard run of the mill local take out spot. I wish they'd get rid of the chicken skin though in their Katsu.

Tried this restaurant because I kept seeing their coupon in the midweek and with everything being expensive, I thought it would be a good deal.It was a big disappointment! Portion size was so small it looked like a mini plate. I ordered my usual mochiko chx and garlic mochiko chx. Chx was hard and no taste at all. I'll stick to my usual Loco moco in another area
